  1. I just got off the Symphony. My cabin steward brought me a compass each evening.
  2. NO! I do not want to check out or reserve ANYTHING ELSE on a cruise! Let the chair hogs have their chairs by the pool. I don't want them anyway. I'm perfectly fine lounging in a chair with shade. We reserve enough things on Royal ships. HARD NO to reserving lounge chairs.
  3. I would love longer cruises out of Galveston to southern ports on any ship.
  4. Yes you can check her in when you check in.
  5. I have not heard of tipping in this manner. How exactly did you do this?
  6. 4 cruises since the reopen. Future cruises - I cruise this Saturday and Thanksgiving week. We still love it and actually like the improved cleaning due to C19. From my 1st cruise since C19 in Sept 2021 to my June 2022 cruise things certainly have evolved aboard the ships. I wish they would continue serving in the buffets but that was gone on my June cruise. Mask are gone as well as social distancing. So my next cruise I'll be a little more mindful and try and keep myself safe.
  7. Thank you for posting this. I will earn my 140th point while cruising next month. Will I get it that cruise or the next cruise?
  8. Hold on! You're on our girl for TWO WEEKS!!! Sorry my ADHD must have kicked in and I completely overlooked it scanning through and drooling at your pics!! HECK YEAH BB!! I am going to love this. When you get off her I'll have one more week until I board!!! I'm sitting here texting the group every time I read something I should tell them. Yep, that's the nerd in me. LOL!!! I am loving all the pics. We had pizza tonight. Still too hot in TX to cook. At least that's what I'm telling my husband. LOL!!!
  9. I just put this in our group chat. LOL!!! Take care of Ms. Symphony we board in 18 days!!! ENJOY YOUR CRUISE!!! Thanks a bunch for posting LIVE!! I'm going stir crazy waiting on this cruise!!!
  10. @bguppies Call them. We understand what you are saying but I think they might be missing your point and will understand it better in a phone conversation. We cruise in a few weeks. I'm looking for a beach club for my party of 13. Thanks for posting about Almaplena. I have added them to my list. $89/pp is a little steep but it includes transportation. Transportation is usually $4/pp one way in a taxi. Our favorite place Maya Chan is full as well as Blue Reef. I've narrowed it down to Ibiza Sunset ($55.99 alcohol/$32.99 non alcohol) and Pez Quadros 40 Canones ($85 alcohol/$45 non alcohol). I wish Almaplena had a nonalcohol pkg. Some people in our group do not drink alcohol. I hope you get it all figured out.
  11. I would wait until Black Friday. We got an awesome deal last BF.
  12. Ask them for a surf and turf, the filet mignon plus the grilled prawns. DELICIOUS!
  13. YAY! A Radio Live review! Just what I need to help me get through these 26 days before I board the Symphony. You have my permission to turn this into a b2b! LOL! Enjoy your cruise and thank you for posting during your vacation. I tried to do a semi live in June on the Oasis to Canada and failed miserably. SMH! It definitely takes a special person to report live. Thank you for being that special person.
  14. Since Maya Chan will be closed we're looking for another beach club. Has anyone visited 40 Canones lately? How was your experience? How much was a day pass? What did it include? Was it pay as you go or AI?
  15. I've searched and couldn't find any. There are some hotels that outsource the shuttle to the port. We decided to stay at Holiday Inn Miami Airport. They have free airport shuttle. We'll take a Lyft to the port on cruise day.
  16. If you look on the Royal App each day has the suggested dress attire.
  17. I suggest exploring other cruise lines and land vacations. Mix it up a little. That's what we do. During the beginning of covid we started doing a lot of land based vacations. We always do a few long weekends, 3 or 4 nighters here and there to check off our visit 50 states list. However not 7 or 8 day land vacays until recently. Boy were we in for a rude awakening. The lodging alone was more than a 1 week cruise for two. And that didn't include turn down service, daily cleaning, towel animals or friendly cabin stewards that knew our nanes. Add in food and entertainment and we're at double what a cruise cost. It's all good. We adjusted the budget and enjoyed them tremendously. But as soon as cruising opened we started booking them. We've never cruised 5 times in 12 months but boy do we APPRECIATE cruising now. We will always take land vacations but cruising is and will always be our favorite way to vacation.
  18. I haven't been to Jamies but in other specialty restaurants it is a set menu but you can order as much as you like.
  19. Add me to "love sea days". I went on my first 9 nighter and had 5 sea days. I loved every one of them. I'm anxiously awaiting a repositioning cruise that fits my schedule, my husband not so much. He loathes sea days. He sleeps away most sea days.
  20. Thanks for posting. We were going to do the 100 pictures but when we read the fine print and it said no groups, we said no thanks. We have 13 people cruising with us and we thought it would be cool to capture our moments together as a great souvenir. I'm so glad I read the fine print.
  21. I'm so excited for this new terminal at my home port and even more excited for the ALLURE!! Oasis class is my fav class of ship. We'll test the new terminal over Thanksgiving when we board the Adventure. But first the flight to Miami to board the Symphony in 42 days. We are trying hard not to book the Allure for Christmas, we have a Hawaii trip planned for February, but I don't know if that will be successful. LOL!!!
  22. We used dayuse.com and stayed at Ocean Five Hotel because we had a late flight 7pm. We searched and searched for a resort for a day but switched paths once we realized a day use hotel room met our needs better. We determined we eventually would want to come inside from the beach and sun to shower, lay down on a bed and relax. Best decision we made. We had a safe and secure place to store our luggage in the room as we perused up and down the strip for breakfast, lunch and people watching. We had a room to change clothes into our beach wear. We could go in and out of our suitcases at our leisure. Long hot showers after our day at the beach. Plus nice comfy beds for a long nap. PRIVACY and peace of mind PRICELESS! Ocean 5 has small rooms but they're clean and served our purpose. Think old boutique Miami Beach hotel. Our 8 hour stay was fabulous!
  23. Go to one of the photo spots and let the photographer know you're going to propose. Follow along with all the poses and drop to one knee and pop the question. Bonus: the photographer will capture the moment.
