  1. After a short flight from Heathrow we joined Navigator in Venice (Fusina) last Thursday. The early morning BA flight was comfortable and arrived ahead of schedule. A bit of a faff checking in at the Venice cruise terminal & then being bussed to the port; but all fairly efficient and painless. Navigator and Splendor in Fusina together We were attracted to make a relatively late booking for this 10 day cruise by the itinerary …………… and a very good deal being offered in the UK 🙂 Plus we like the intimacy of the little ship Navigator. The ship is sailing full (474 guests on board) and we are being well looked after by an excellent team of officers, staff and crew
  2. Some more photos of window suite 600 on Navigator (We boarded Navigator yesterday and managed to have a sneak peak at 600 while housekeeping were preparing the suite for new guests)
  3. It appears that the introduction of the EU ETIAS system has been postponed until 2025 Schengen Visa info
  4. We know exactly what you mean. A couple of years pre-pandemic we took a long cruise on Voyager which just felt "off" the whole time. It was very difficult to identify exactly what was wrong but it just did not seem to be a happy ship and throughout our time on board we felt "invisible". Not our normal Regent experience. We concluded that it must be down to the GM and other senior management on board. Fortunately since then we have had some excellent experiences, including two particularly stand-out recent cruises: Splendor: Christmas & New Year 2022 into 23 - fabulous in every way. Navigator: August 2023 - despite poor weather, we had a very enjoyable cruise; a great on-board Regent team and we met some excellent fellow guests 🙂 We are joining Navigator again later this week for a short cruise, so 🤞
  5. 918 is a Penthouse B suite; deck 9 forward. Easiest way to review the suite types and positions is to look at the deck plans and suite descriptions on rssc.com
  6. Jason M is an accountant, but perhaps has a better understanding of how customer (and staff) satisfaction impacts on the bottom line in the medium/long term. In hindsight there appear to have been some very poor early policy decisions taken regarding this cruise and the lack of flexibility offered to guests; thus placing affected customers, and seemingly poorly briefed agents, under unnecessary extra stress. Hope that those who successfully join the ship today can make the best of the revised itinerary and that those disembarking have a safe & comfortable trip home.
  7. Regent are probably advising against the "visa on arrival" because you are arriving in Indonesia by ship rather than into the international airport.
  8. Since the evenings are "Formal Optional" it is very much down to personal preference as to what you wear. You will see gentlemen wearing anything from shirt & slacks, jackets, suits or tuxedos. As @PhD-iva says the attire can vary depending on the location and vibe of the cruise and there are definitely more tuxedos to be seen at Christmas & New Year. Hope you have a fabulous cruise through the Panama Canal in January 😎
  9. Sorry, cannot supply any more useful info …………… but look forward to your review next year, as we also have 600 booked for a future cruise 🙂
  10. Unfortunately the system is no longer in use
  11. That is our experience also; usually with some of the shipboard entertainment team doing a short performance
  12. As @Techno123 advises check carefully the price of the alternative cruise being offered for next year .......... and whether you can secure the suite that you want.
  13. The likelihood is that Regent have oversold "Guarantee" reservations, and therefore need to free up some suites.
  14. If you are happy with the offer and do not mind missing your upcoming cruise then do not delay in accepting; they will be making similar offers to others and as soon as they have secured the suites required then that will be it. I assume the cruise is waitlisted.
  15. Was that the TA's on-line price or Regent(UK)'s website price? Looking forward to your update and hope that you secured a booking for the cruise/suite that you wanted
  16. This does not seem to be the perceived wisdom here in the UK: UK Government Guidelines Disability Rights UK Just goes to show how the english language can be nuanced in different places and how individuals can feel slighted when there was no intention to offend.
  17. Totally agree, and of course you can also reap all the benefits of an “on-board” booking up to 30 days prior to going on a Regent cruise. Very useful if a price rise is coming up or an attractive offer will expire before boarding.
  18. @casperthecat, You can book on board and ask the on-board cruise consultant to transfer the booking to your TA in the UK. That way you will receive the on-board booking benefits (lower deposit, OBC etc) plus any discounts or other perks being offered by your TA. Suggest you speak to your TA in the UK to firm up their offer before you then book with the on-board cruise consultant. That is the best price that he, as a Regent sales consultant, can offer you. He will have no interest in, or knowledge of, any extra discount you may receive from your UK TA when the booking is transferred. Note that the "rules" are different between the USA and the UK in the ways Regent allows their TAs to offer additional incentives.
  19. I am not sure I am understanding your issue. At the time of booking you presumably asked your TA and/or Regent what was the price of the cruise and what, if any, other perks were on offer. Are you saying that you have not been given OBC that you were offered at time of booking? ........ or are you simply saying that you made an incorrect assumption at time of booking? Regarding recognition of past guests, some Regent cruises feature savings for members of the Seven Seas Society (RSSC past guests). The Mariner 2023 Holiday cruise is one such voyage. Since you say that you have sailed with Regent previously you should find that your invoice shows a SSS saving.
  20. Thanks for the blog. Lucky you are leaving UK waters and will therefore miss Storm Agnes which is heading towards us. Looks like you will have excellent weather for your stop in Bordeaux 😎 PS: We both like British/Canadian bacon and American crispy bacon; but try to avoid the calories in both. Also black pudding - try a slice with a scallop on top and pea purée on the side 😋 (Costco in the UK is a surprisingly good source of tasty black pudding)
  21. ………. and that passerby decides it is a good idea to share private information on social media 🙄
  22. What's wrong with Room Service? ................... or is Mr fudge the room service in your suite? 🙂
  23. What specific technical issues is Mariner suffering? Pleased to hear the wine list was provided as requested.
