  1. There will be taxis available. Also, one’s driver can be asked for a timed pickup etc.. Only “a” bottle? 😃
  2. Just one’s thoughts. At that price, feel they could be Dom.Rep illegal migrants (and the like) trying to earn a few dollars. They are not going to advertise their presence and whereabouts. Legitimate operators (vetted) have to undergo stringent tests etc.. Consider Tours By Locals.
  3. Same here…. Enjoy the day. May one suggest a toast to Todd after snorkelling. Glass, 1 ice cube, pour 2 measures of white rum, same of gold, swirl, raise, toast Todd and sip large.
  4. Not an inside joke as one avers…..No humour intended….. A statement of fact. To assist one’s comprehension……. TOWELS: Arrive by the cheapest means; deliberately take the most annoying spot on the beach to spoil a view of paying clients; spread the ship's Towles; constantly repeat the mantra "beaches are free" like a demented parrot; do not spend anything at the resort; bring food and drink browsed from the ship's buffet, all wrapped in a ship's napkin; bury their picnic debris in the sand; use the sea, beach and all the venue's facilities for free; if there is charge for toilets, decline and use the sea; return to the ship by the cheapest means. Then when back in the Ship boast they spent the day at Carambola (Kim Sha et al) taking lunch and drinks there. HERDS: Arrive loudly en masse; stay loudly; have shouting conversations on their mobiles, or with other herd members, albeit 2 feet or 20 yards way; bring coolers full of Supermarket bought beer and food, then demand ice for free; bring boom boxes and play on highest volume; sometimes pay for beds but insist a colony of friends is created; complain about the price of venue's food as the reason for buying a single slice of pizza. Seek to use Hotel or Beach facilities for free, failing that, turn the sea into a Urinal (aka going for a swim) Abuse or ridicule other guests, and members of the venue's staff, solely for the group's amusement. Basically, it's a group who knowingly do everything possible to spoil the genteel ambience of the venue, and to annoy as many people as it is physically possible. Then leave loudly en masse. Other items of annoyance can be added to each of the above definitions as required.
  5. Never stayed there, but asked a friend who used to have a beach bar, and he suggested one asks questions of, plus prices by sending a missive to. https://cortslandantigua.com/contact-us/ He mentioned it was not the cheapest, but could suit. Remember Antigua Hotels always have been considered on the high side, because of the short revenue seasons and high taxes.
  6. If on a budget , then consider the local bus service to see the sights … inexpensive and reliable Link - http://www.busstopanu.com
  7. Feel the best people to answer this question will be the Tourist Board, knowing they have an internal list of quality Guest Houses and small boutique hotels that would fit one’s criteria. Here is the link for all questions. https://www.visitantiguabarbuda.com/contact-us/
  8. Stalls within the port area are happy to take both. The further away, the least likely it is for dollars to be happily accepted. Note to self. Old and grubby USD notes will mostly be rejected. They like crisp ones.
  9. As a recommendation from a person one trusts, we will now definitely take CG next year. thank you
  10. What a great call! Just Googled and wow! @zackarykeef will be indebted as the sail time is 10.00 am Looks as if @TTEllis has saved the day….
  11. Just had a thought….. consider a nice gesture to parents, by contacting HL and ask if there could be a possibility of paying the small additional direct for front row set. Then when they arrive can be escorted. Also see if a few drinks can be prepaid.
  12. If one must visit, then suggest booking direct with HL for a guaranteed front row set of beds. From past experience, ship tours usually have the beds at the rear, with no ability to reserve a preference, or move on arrival.
  13. Sorry, but have no other recommendations. Remember that these tours are taken mostly by those vacationing on the island, with cruisers being a very small revenue percentage Suggest one asks the tourism board… https://barbados.org as they have access to all information. Good luck
  14. If missing the ambiance of Milano’s roof. Then consider one’s personal choice being rooftop bar at the LV. They have a great menu of finger food and Tapas. Views over the city are great.
  15. Auto reply- waiting Hi, thanks for contacting us. We've received your message and appreciate you reaching out.
  16. Just sent a face message… Will post reply.
  17. Between Shipwreck and Carambola is a better bet, called Discovery Bech Bar. Bring one’s State or Country Flag (small or large) for permanent display behind the Bar !ink… https://www.facebook.com/discoverybeachbarskb/ Ideal if one is Vegan or Vegetarian, because the Morsi (owner) is Vegetarian (and a talented chef), so he understands. Send a Face message to make a booking, they can also arrange transport. Occasional entertainment is Morsi driving Towels away, when they attempt to park themselves in front of his place. The language is best described a colourfully strong.
  18. Apologies, just remembered, there is also a strict dress code…. To assist - Link https://www.calabashcove.com/guest-attire-recommendations Additional… May have changed, but ask if there is still an opportunity to pay an additional fee for a day room. Changing, shower, storage etc.
  19. Think one will find this a resort fee, therefore could be liable to an additional 20% tax. Hotel residents do take precedent on bed positions. One’s beds will be allocated on arrival, without any opportunity to change, there will be no discussion. Because of the nature of the Hotel’s clientele, there is a ‘respect our guests’ conduct code. Do confirm a lunch reservation when booking.
  20. Many attractions have an age limit, so suggest one contacts the tourist board direct with all questions etc,…..link https://www.visitstkitts.com/contact
  21. Best to call or Email for the answer. St. Maarten Tourism Bureau Main Office 6 Juancho Yrausquin Boulevard Philipsburg, St. Maarten Tel: +1721-549-0200 Email: info@vacationstmaarten.com
  22. One has to take account of fluid pricing. Therefore, suggest a personal future twice daily monitor. Having knowledge of BIL who did this to join us, where price dropped considerably overnight (booked), only to be put back during that afternoon.
  23. Think the adapted taxis would be booked well in advance for tours. Contact the tourist office for operators - Link https://cupeles.com/contact/
  24. Know it’s a thought from the past, but ask Sonesta if they still operate a “waiting list”, if so be added to it. Who knows?
