Is Cunard tweaking the Gala Evening dress code?
PORT ROYAL replied to bluemarble's topic in Cunard Line
As on has previously posted. The daily published Cunard Dress Code is an “advisory minimum standard” only. It does not preclude one from exceeding the suggested minimum and dressing to a higher level. It’s one’s choice to fold, call, check, raise or go all-in. One has dressed, and will continue to dress, in accordance with one’s old school code. This being a Tux, suits with tie, plus jackets with/without tie, being one’s own minimum standards. Except for a crossing, where it’s now a Tux every night, except the first, being then dressed with a suit with tie or jacket with tie. Thank you D&N for the last night suggestion. One considers one’s own dress code a gentle raise. All-in would involve a “White Tie” and “Wings”. 😊 -
Think it could be time to claim a refund on one’s credit card. But try a message on face ache first.

For a reasonably priced, under the radar, boutique but very decent hotel, then it has to be…. https://sweetfieldmanor.com Like stepping back in time, to live in a “Southern Bell’s” home They did also offer “Day Pass” for a pre-flight stay. A short taxi ride from Airport and to the Cruise Terminal. Give them a call to book and ask if any offers …. Breakfast and room upgrades etc., as these are not shown on website. It will not disappoint and business will be valued.

There were shared minivans to some popular beaches from the despatch kiosk, with fare approx. $8/9 pp e/w., just approach hawkers and ask for “shared minivan to……”, If not offering, they will suggest an alternative such as Brewer’s Beach. They will direct one to the waiting area. Board minivan with a wait until the van fills. But, with about 10 pax per minivan, the whole van has to agree for the return. Usually, it’s a very early time. However, one can declare at kiosk and just pay the driver for outward leg. Then when ready to leave ask other drivers at the beach area rank if there is spare capacity. May have to wait a short while to see if a van has no shows. Which does happen. Consider Brewer’s Personally, prefer the flexibility and privacy of a dedicated cab.

Next visit, to avoid a disappointment consider a Day Pass @ Marriott

Where to snorkel with 3 big ships in port

One will try to assist, as the usual opinions have not commented. There are no, what experienced snorkellers would consider good venues, from a beach. There are Cockershell and South Friars, but these sites are seasonal and weather dependent. Just like the appearances of seaweed Interesting is Whitehouse, but it’s isolated, no facilities or bars, and much better with a private guide/protector Therefore, make.a selection and take pot luck. The only items guaranteed will be the bed and drinks -
Sorry, but without knowledge of the various itinerary suggestions actually offered by the tour operators, one is unable to assist with ‘more’.

As one previously posted……. This contact address never leaves the hotel and is monitored by management reservation@stkittsmarriott.com Or telephone

Okay….. Heritage Quay is the controlled area after the ship/port security gates. Cut/Copy/Paste - Taxis in Antigua In the Heritage Quay Terminal, you will find a Taxi Dispatch Kiosk with official taxi rates. Prices are reasonable and taxis are the best way to go to any of the fabulous beaches in Antigua. Most taxi-drivers are reasonably good guides as well and, considering the size of the island, can take you to most highlights in a half-day tour. Although drivers are required to show a rate card (fares are officially fixed), make sure you agree on a fare before entering the taxi. For a half-day tour, you shouldn't be paying more US$ 120 (for the taxi with as many as 4 passengers). You have, as posted, the Official Tariff from The Antigua & Barbuda Tourist Board. ABTB. If there still is a concern, take the rates with one, to also produce.

Best beach with wifi and food options on the beach itself ?

Exit port security, walk ahead through shopping area. Half way through you’ll be greeted by many hawkers, plying for taxi fares. Just say taxi to Darkwood for three only, you’ll be directed to your right to the cab area. Driver will be introduced, escorted to taxi, off you go. Outward driver will be pleased if they are booked for a timed return. Published prices are the official government rates. If an attempt is made to stiff one and overcharge. Decline take the persons name and head immediately to the Tourist Board desk and register a complaint. They will put everything right promptly.
