Thanks for our Sunday Daily, Rich. Manners are important everywhere. No newspaper today on Sunday but I will celebrate my carrier who comes here 5 days per week. Love spices and use them a lot. Interesting quote. Love frittatas but I will pass on the chick pea portion 😉 @richwmnI went to check and indeed, Oosterdam is in Venice. She wasn’t scheduled for there so something is up. Started to try to get things done yesterday including a very expensive trip to the liquor store 😉 I was rocking and rolling (considering the knee) and stupidly took a break - then it was too dark to do what was next. I’ll pay for that procrastination today, I think. I should have never looked and deciphered what was required to get into Spain in November. Lots of things to remember “to do” a couple of days before the flight. As others have said, Laundry service is quick - ditto with dry cleaning (we’ve used both). the only time I have seen it slower is turn around on embarkation day IF a lot of people were staying pre-cruise and had a lot of laundry and possibly the last day your are allowed to turn it in before disembarkation. It was slightly over 24 hours in those scenarios but not much more. Laundry/dry cleaning by HAL is very well done. You can indicate cold water wash/low heat if needed. I just circled the items and marked it in my instructions.

Yes you can. You will lose the other person’s perks in my experience but also eliminate their port taxes. If you have a TA, best to reach out to them or your PCC or HAL if you use neither. It took over 8 weeks to get my dearly departed DH off my reservation and my TA spent a LOT of time on the phone to accomplish it. Ditto - no issue at all. My TA got it done and kept my perks 👍

I honestly don’t think a 14 day TA is a long cruise 😉 Have no problem with the vaccination requirement but testing is a PITA. It is what it is.

It DOES matter as most ships are not charging it from what I can see. I’ve checked my PG menu on the Navigator app and there is no $7 charge listed for an additional appetizer. Honestly, I’ve been known to have appetizers and skip the main course on the odd occasion. 😉

Everyone is heading to the Great Land for this sailing on 3 different ships with 3 different itineraries! They are all in for great sights we hope both at sea and on land. Whichever itinerary they have chosen, we hope they have a wonderful time on board their BHB and in port and, of course we wish them fair winds and smooth seas. Spain requires proof of vaccine and if you last one is over x days old, you must be boosted. https://www.spth.gob.es/ I think there are more EU countries that have implemented this than people realize. No testing is required but proof of vaccine (QR code) is required to enter. Mine is in place and ready to go unless I can get the next booster before our cruise.

Enjoying your reports. Thought I would explain the “uptown” and yes it’s called uptown. Did you notice all the hills ?? And the hill from the harbour to the hub of “uptown”. You have to walk uphill so it’s been called uptown for I think forever 😉

We have 2 - 4 that don’t leave here too. there is a little pond and they swim in it enough to keep it from icing up. Not sure how they stay warm but I know the people next to the pond feed them. They sure are - BUT they are protected under the Migratory act (whatever it’s called) here. I think it applies to all of North America - but not 100% sure.

It has been discussed - but it really depends on what itinerary you are on. A number of sailings still require vaccination (full - meaning at least one booster) and testing. They are all listed under the “Enhanced protocols” Along with the itineraries mentioned by @spleenstomper the enhanced protocols also affect Panama canal cruises and trans oceanic cruises.

They wanted the deed redone and another certified copy of the POA but now, with Jose gone, the POA is null and void. I spent a very painful 1.5 hours on the phone telling my story over and over again. Now, I have to start all over again. ‘Sigh’. Well, I will just have to pick myself up and do it. Excitement today is heading to the liquor store (if it’s not too busy) and picking up additional stuff for next weekend. Ca-ching $$$ and try to keep up with 2 of my roll calls. LOL - Admittedly, I didn’t take it as proof (and was never asked for it) - just so I could re-arrange it as they had it to make the ‘checking’ easier on them and avoid errors. It seems if you put it back (we always mess it up fitting things in) as it was it avoids a LOT of confusion. JME though. But, it would be great proof indeed 😉

I’m sorry for you but HAL is only requiring one booster - there have been 2 and another on the way. And, many countries now require a booster / vaccine within 270 days or less. Honestly, I don’t consider anyone “fully vaccinated” unless they have at least one booster. The initial vaccines lose immunization protection and the new variants require slightly different protection. Hope your TA can help 🤞 and if not, that HAL still has their covid cancellation protection that you can utilize.

I have never cleared out our mini bar and only once were we charged. I simply emailed HAL and they sent me the tally for the last day, I told them what we didn’t have and they credited me back - no problem. What I do do now, is take a pic, so that when we leave the mini bar is the same set up as they had it. No issues and only take a minute. DH often made use of it in the late evening on occasion and with the mariner discount why not?

Oakridge was talking about the on line proctored tests, I believe. However, a minimal amount of googling will let you know the availability of test sites or you can email your hotel. I’ve already checked it out for my embarkation port and it’s piece of cake unless things change and the cost is quite reasonable.

Not sure for whom if you have been reading the boards, sorry. Same rules as were posted for sailings after September 6th, 2022. However, it is nice to see a clarification and the enhanced protocol cruises listed for testing for the specific cruises now to eliminate any questions. 👍

It will be nice to eat out with her 👍 Well, I don’t know what I did with my HAL account - but at long last I am receiving casino offers - one of my cruise segments is on the list 😬 I am struggling to see if it’s worth it to cancel and change everything or not. A lot of math involved & perk calculations 😉 The price dropped a few weeks ago and our roll call scored - now it is back up so my savings that I got may win out since I’d have to cancel the Collectors and rebook the one segment at current prices 😔 Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.
