  1. The only people entitled to the Neptune Suite perks are those in the Neptune Suite. Only those are permitted in the lounge, etc. Now, if you were sailing on a Pinnacle Class ship (and ONLY on that class), the 2 not in the Suite could buy Club Orange and do breakfast & dinner in Club Orange, receive some of the priorities that Neptune Suites have but the Lounge would still be off limits. However, people in a Neptune Suite can order hors d’oeuvres for more than just themselves and entertain in their cabin. So, at least those not in the Suite could partake in that 😉
  2. Thanks - this is embarrassing to say but I just have stuff everywhere still from trying to re-organize and then getting hampered by Shadow, the wrist and now the knee. So I need to get things presentable somehow before I would dare call in a cleaning company. LOL. I do plan to do that at some stage but I want the mess sorted out of first (You know what it’s like when you start to sort, give a way and don’t finish?) The only mess after the guests will be the kitchen. The party will be outside (please give me good weather). I have far more room on my deck and it’s more congenial for mixing than I do in my cut up house. It might not be perfect - but as long as it’s presentable and clean, I’ll be content. I have nearly 2 weeks so I can pace myself doing that and getting the dishes and additional flatware upstairs. Celebration will be on the 10th or 11th.
  3. Thanks - I don’t see that as a big deal - I’d just request a bottle or 2 be sent to my stateroom and if I wanted to drink it at a bar, Lido, whatever, I’d just take it with me and ask the bartended to keep it there for me 😉 We’ve actually done that in the past as we were unsure what our plans were.
  4. thanks for our Monday Daily, Rich. Haven’t seen any bats flying around here but they certainly play an important role in the environment. Always use herbs and little salt so I guess I am celebrating the day. LIke the rest of you, I wish more motorists were considerate although there are a few around here. Love today’s quote. And Montreal is so beautiful - especially Old Montreal. Never been there by cruise ship but by land instead. Well, I did it! I started the calls last night to get people to save the weekend (waiting for a shorter term weather forecast to finalize whether it’s Saturday or Sunday) for Jose’s Celebration of Life. More calls to do today and then I better start to figure out cleaning this house with my knee. I certainly won’t be scrubbing the kitchen floor in my normal way (on my hands and knees). Hoping I can pull it off well 🤞 Along with that going to visit my widow neighbour who has had hip surgery and is tied to her house. Think I will take her some cherry tomatoes to munch on 😉 Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Monday everyone!!! Stay safe and please don’t forget your 😷
  5. Unless something has changed dramatically I don’t think that is quite correct. Take a look at your statement - the OBC you can’t use for the casino will say so. I suspect (unless it’s the type that is non refundable) that your TA’s OBC can be used. You probably have to use you non refundable up first before it will work in the casino although I’ve never had that problem before.
  6. Wow! thanks so much. I didn’t know this and I am sure I am not alone. Very informative and helpful 👍 Welcome home 🙂. Yay on the luggage arriving with you 👍
  7. As well as trans-oceanic cruises (like Transatlantics) and cruises over 16 days if I understand the latest protocols correctly.
  8. Just to let you know - the rooms in the aft Neptune suites have smaller rooms than the regular Neptune suites/cabin - the verandahs are bigger - much - but the rooms are smaller. DH was subject to mal de mer with the wrong motion. We tried an aft once and once was enough. There can be noises and vibrations - not always but it can disconcerting. And there can be a lot more motion of the ocean. Not as much as forward but more than a mid ship category. You are also further from the Neptune Lounge but closer to the MDR & Lido. For DH, I always chose mid ship (unless we were on the Prinsendam - that ship rode the waves so well it made little difference where you were IMO.) He did so much better with a mid ship location - there was rarely an issue. Just one experience but when one is not well, it does not a good cruise make. Now that I am solo - I will be aft next year (not Neptune Suite sadly) because of bigger balconies on the N.Statendam but I don’t suffer from Mal de Mer. If DH was with me, I wouldn’t do it.
  9. Thanks for our Sunday Daily, Rich. Very late to the party today and never got back yesterday, sorry. Between two very busy roll calls, some complications and spread sheets & this knee and hobbling, I’ve really been slowed down. At least I was able to find a way to prep 4 boxes to give away and hopefully will have 3 more done today? 🤞 The cherry tomatoes are ripening and edible ornamental chiles are fruiting. Normally that would bring me joy having planted them by seed - but I planted them for Jose as he loved them to take to in the Nursing Home so there is little joy in the plants bearing fruit 😢 Today I hobbled into Costco with my cane & bought a bunch of stuff for the Celebration of Life. Took far too long by the time I got down the aisles and then two stepped downstairs to get everything put away. Now, I HAVE to get the deadheading done. I’ll be celebrating Rainbow Bridge Remembrance day honouring and remembering with love and fondness all my sweet fur babies there - my sweet cats from years gone by and my most recent fur dog fur babies of the last 22 years - Maverick, Kazu, Fox, Marley & Miko. Have a fabulous cruise! Bon Voyage ! How wonderful! Looks like a great time was had by all! Wonderful pic 🙂 Safe travels and good luck with your consultation 🤞 Glad your situation has resolved and you were wise to leave some things unsaid. Sorry to hear that. I think sadly, that’s a sign of aging but do check with your family physician. Thanks - the wrist is pretty much all better - just a teeny tiny sore spot. The knee has a looooong ways to go. Glad to hear that you had no knee pain last night 👍 May this be the first of many such nights 🤞 Have a wonderful time! Safe travels to you both. I THINK you are ok without Verifly - I think it just speeds up some of the boarding process from what I have read on CC. Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Sunday everyone!!! Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷
  10. We don’t have a card per se. Our vaccination status is provincial and we have a Federal QR code which most countries want. I will just upload and take my QR code for HAL. Everything they need is in it.
  11. Just a heads up as it appears you are on our transatlantic (we have a great roll call 😉) - testing is required for trans oceanic sailings - so testing is needed currently for our sailing.
  12. Aww thanks. It’s Jose (my dearly departed DH) - some of his ashes are in a heart on the bear. He will go with me on my cruise.
  13. oh thanks - I learned something new today. 👍
  14. Thanks for our Saturday Daily, Rich 🙂 Great collection of days. Speaking kind words can make all the difference in the world and I was always in awe of the Pony Express. East to West in 10 days! It really doesn’t matter where you are or what postal service you use - there’s a lot of truth with this one and makes the pony express even better 😉 Love that quote of Audrey Hepburn’s. So typical of that wonderful lady - up to any challenge 👍 I really wish I had seen this one yesterday in time for International Dog Day. It’s perfect! Love Mykonos - it’s beautiful. I believe I’m returning next year so will have digital pics this time 😉 Not a lot on my plate today other than get some more stuff ready to give away and hobble out to the car to give a dear friend some cherry tomatoes. I have way too many. I started them from seed back when Jose was in the hospital thinking I would be taking them to the Nursing home for him as he loved them. Some work on my cruise (like check in and get organized) - And while I can’t garden, if the rain stops, I’ll attempt to get the dead heading up to date. @kochleffeloh no on your implant 😱 I hope you will be ok for the rest of the trip without it 🤞 What a shame 😔 I would normally be canning but with just me, I think I’ll take a short cut this year and get it done faster Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Saturday everyone !!!!! Stay safe and please don’t forget your 😷
  15. Thanks Peter for the pic. I don’t see anything on the mask identifying it as kn 95. Think I will bring some of mine when I go. So sorry to hear the two of you were positive & quarantined but glad you could stay in your own cabin. I hope you have both recovered and are feeling well again 🤞
  16. Bon Voyage Karen! Safe travels and have a wonderful cruise 🚢: 🙂
  17. Well, I sure hope both of the Whogo’s get successfully on the plane and on the ship. 🤞 Looking forward to your reports and hoping the first one is all worked out well 🤞
  18. Bon Voyage Colin & Ellen 🚢 Very much looking forward to your reports and hoping you have a WONDERFUL time 🤞
  19. I hope you are soon feeling better, Vanesss 🙏🏻 I wonder if Imodium would help? I think you definitely need a nap, poor thing. Take care. Good news, indeed Jim 👍 Nice to see you posting, Jo. Don’t be a stranger. You are most welcome here every day 🙂. I laughed at your story but OMG I can’t figure out how the dog didn’t need to get to a vet with the mask, socks and remote. I am sure you have your house well dog proofed this time 😉 thinking of you Terri. I hope you can work through it and remember, some people are not worth your hurt or time. Sometimes we find out the hard way who our true friends are. 😢
  20. Three beautiful Blue Hulled Beauties from 3 different classes in the fleet are sailing on this date. Two are headed to the Great Land to enjoy as much as Alaska can offer and the other to take in the beauty of Canada & New England. Whichever cruise our CC friends have chosen, we hope they enjoy their salmon, crab, clams or lobster (depending on which itinerary they are on) and their time on board and in ports. And of course, we wish them fair winds and smooth seas. Bon Voyage to Koningsdam - 7 day Alaska: Darfun Bon Voyage to Eurodam - 7 day Alaskan Explorer: luvteaching - B2B following Crown Princess Aug. 27th Bon Voyage to Zaandam - 7 day Canada/New England: Navybikermom Traveling Dot Bon Voyage everyone !!!!!! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time !!!!!!
  21. Welcome to Cruise Critic and to the HAL board. Happy to add it for you 🙂. Hope you enjoy your first HAL cruise 🤞 LOL on the 2 dimes 😂 How nice & delighted to add them to your listing 👍 Thanks so much - very much appreciated 👍. She didn’t answer me - I knew she wasn’t sailing out of Ohio 😆 😉
  22. I’ve been on a number of transatlantics & will be on another one in November. They were sold out and our upcoming cruise is nearly sold out from what I understand. Never count on them not being full. It hasn’t been my experience - most of my sailings were on the Prinsendam but also N Amsterdam & Rotterdam for reference purposes.
  23. The Bon Voyage threads are derived from this listing.
