Yes, and the kids were a little upset about that. I’m not, secretly. It gives me anxiety. Truth be told, I toured Allure in June 2023 when she was at Galveston. I feel like with a 9, 10 & 13 year old we can navigate it, not get too lost, and have some fun on a 4 nighter. The Carnival Dream was 8 days and by the second sea day… one sea day, 4 ports, two seas on the way back… they were bored, over the kids club and had decided long cruising was not for them unless super port intensive.
Hope I can help with the short cruise real-ness. 😉Last year we took our 11 and 13 niece and nephew on their first cruise a 4 day on the Breeze. Every time we see them they ask about going on another cruise. My 11 year old nephew last night said he wants to do a 14 day cruise. I think like you if I do take them again it will be a 4 or 5 day.

Yes. My wife and I both had casino offers. We wanted to give my Mom and stepdad a free cruise so we booked my Wife and Mom in one room and my step dad and me in the other. When we boarded the ship my mother and I went to guest services and they moved us and issued new sail and sign cards.

@Saint Greg With the NFL schedule not releasing until next week did you book a fall cruise and hope the Saints are not playing at home?

They did not reprice the room. I just did this on the Vista in October. They printed a new sail and sign card for my mother and I.

I have done this multiple times. Twice they gave us new sail and sign cards and switched our rooms. Once we just got the extra key card. If you are purchasing cheers for one person then you will need to do the extra room key card. 2 people in your group will carry around 2 cards.

@TxTeach79 I read today that a North Texas School teacher legally changed his name to Literally Anybody Else and is planning on running for president. Is there something you need to announce?

Technically, you will not be paying down the balance with a new credit card. your balance will show zero, but the new card will have a hold placed against it. Any charges after will be settled to that card. So say your balance is $160 they will put a $200 hold on it.

I have everything planned out so I get diamond on a particular cruise next year. There's no doubt they're going to screw me over.
They have been screwing you over for years as a single passenger. I know rooms are double occupancy but you would think they would offer you some kind of single supplement or give you double points since you pay for 2. I am only at 125 days so I have a ways to go for Diamond.

I have always noticed when I happen to be on an Elite, Ultra or Premiere cruise how many people are not in the casino at 11pm for the nightly drawing. They will call several names sometimes before a winner is called. By the way I spend to much time in the casino.

@heath7767 thank you for the review. I am on this same cruise in August. Hopefully, Amber Cove doesn't get cancelled.

I have not tried that approach but I doubt it will work. The casino blocks out a specific number of rooms per cruise. If you are not finding your offer on a specific cruise it is probably already booked full with casino offers.

when you check into the cruise and know for sure she isn't going I would link your on board accounts. This way if they do give you the full amount of OBC it will be in your account.

Just got an email from our school district that they are cancelling school on April 8th due to the Solar Eclipse. We are in the total darkness for 3 minutes starting at 3:26pm and the state is expecting all cell coverage and 911 towers to go down due to the influx of people. Traffic is expected to be at a standstill all day and the interstate is expected to be a parking lot. This is going to be a huge mess!
Many other Tribe members must be in the total darkness as well. DallasDan and TxTeach?! Are things wild for others? I mean, people are renting their homes for thousands of dollars a night which is just insane since people are actually paying these prices.
We are hearing an influx of 100,000 people to our small county east of Dallas. My company is going to hand out glasses to everyone and organizing areas out in parking lots to view. Most schools in the area are closing.

I am booked on a premier Alaska cruise next May, 8 day on the Spirit. with only one sea day and Tracy Arm Fjord day I am surprised this is a premier cruise. Also, this is my first premier. Anything I should look forward too?

I guess it was only 2 or 3 days then. Either way they adjusted 1 hour each day until we were on Hawaii time. Then on the way back 1 hour each day to pacific time.
-
I did the 14 day from Ling Beach. They adjusted the time 1 hour per day for 4 days. Same on way back.

I have AT&T and when we are in Mexico I take my phone off of airplane mode and use it like normal. No extra charges. With AT&T Canada and Mexico are included.

When Carnival came out with the additional pricing for a third entrée they also mentioned you could place half orders for the main course. I have been on 3-4 cruises since and they just look at me like I am crazy. So I typically only order the main course with no appetizers and no desert, or just order 1-2 appetizers. The waiter usually tries to bring more food every time. I have to explain that I cannot eat it.

I wonder if overeating after the surgery stretches out the stomach in a risky way. I worked with a gal that surgery, lost 100 pounds, ate it back on.
I believe it does stretch the stomach. I was also told that carbonated beverages will stretch the stomach. So I took this as gospel and haven't had coke or beer in 9 years.

I know many people who've had those surgeries. I know nobody that actually kept the weight off long term. So I struggle with trying to get to a healthy weight while also enjoying life. Because what fun is life if I can't try all the foods?
I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery on March 31, 2015. I lost 120 pounds and have only gained back 12 pounds. I don't drink anything with carbonation or alcohol and still eat in moderation. I do however, know several people who have had the surgery that have gained all the weight back. I don't feel shame because I had the surgery. it saved my life. If you don't make a drastic change in your eating lifestyle the weight will come back.

We had a group of 12 on our last cruise. The 2 nights we all ate together, I went down to the MDR at brunch and requested a table. They gave us a time to come to the MDR and our table was ready. We did not have to use the hub app. When less than 10 of us ate together we used the hub app.

I think Carnival might be catching on that I message was working without paying for Wifi. There was some kind of glitch in their system that allowed it to work. My DW had the social plan and her I message worked the whole cruise in October. I did not pay for a plan my I message only worked for the first 2 days.

@Saint Greg Will you be able to go the game in Dallas in week 2? Did the schedule work out for you with your 5 day cruise on Carnival?
