I have stayed in a Havana patio before and I loved deck 5.  Ended up rarely going up to Lido except for a burger.  Deck 5 has Guy's BBQ joint, plus, what they didn't advertise, was that the Ocean Plaza area had a small breakfast buffet.  No one really knew about this until late in the cruise so didn't have to fight crowds at the buffet on Lido.

With the private pool area and all the other bars/amenities on 5, it makes it well worth it.  I will be cruising in a Havana patio room again in September.

They don't set up food in the Ocean Plaza anymore.  Stopped a couple of years ago

Just another question, if we want to take our grandkids (18 and 16 at time of sailing), can we put them in a cabin by themselves? I realize we may have to put one each,on paper, into a cabin with one of us and then switch when we get onboard, but would rather not. BTY I need to have a wheelchair accessible cabin, and don’t know how close we can get them to us. What do we need from their parents?

Yes you can do that as long as they are not more than 2 or three rooms away from your room. You could also book one adult in each room and then ask for extra keys once on board.

  3. I don't think it has anything to do with buying cheers on previous cruises.  All of my offers include drinks on us everywhere and I have never purchased cheers and only drink about 3-5 alcoholic drinks per cruise if I have the offer, zero drinks without the offer.

Ok, I read this on the internet so it must be true...Bring that bad boy up to 88 mph whilst being chased by Libyans and next thing you know you'll be picking up Amy and I...or you'll be getting a ticket...could go either way.  But whatever you do, don't accept a date from your mom...

The very first date with my wife was to see that movie, September 1985.  Wow I have been married a long time.  Married in 1988.

How long have they had so many “cruise cash” options? I think it’s silly. Why would I give someone cruise cash but only to spend specifically on one thing?

I have never used cruise cash on Carnival, but I did purchase casino cash on Celebrity because they offered a 10% discount.  I don't remember the limit.
