I may have suggested that it was the ship hitting whales to some annoying tablemates. 😇
funny you say that. On our Hawaii cruise last year, on one of the nights heading back to Long Beach about 5 am the ship we came flying up off our bed about a foot. First time I ever experienced an up and down movement like that. I jokingly said to my wife we hit a whale. We were on the Miracle.

My experience was we had to wait until the casino opened for drinks everywhere to work the first day out of Galveston.

Galveston has her quirks just like all the rest. The “drink thing” is really silly and stupid, but those restrictions are just until you are about an hour out to see. Concerned…nah! You’ll forget about it soon enough!
Carnival makes you wait until the next morning at 6 am to start using the drink package.

Did you have any issues with people trying to sit in your loungers?

I have found it is faster to just take a taxi out of long beach, because the Uber and Lyft times are so long. The price of the taxi is about the same as taking an Uber to the long beach airport. Thanks for the great review and pictures.

It's actually the reverse... you charge your S&S to get credit on the machine, then when you're done playing you transfer the credit to your player bank.
You can do it as many times as you wish, as long as you actually gamble with what you charged to your S&S and put on the machine. Cash out too often or for too much without playing with what you just charged and you'll get systematically blocked from charging your S&S in the casino.
I was blocked after the second time. I added money at the slot machine didn't spin the machine and added to my player bank and then got chips at the tables. After the second time my card was blocked and casino host scolded me.

OMG, it's a lot too! This is gonna end up being a novella! 😇
I would purchase a novella if you wrote one. I love your writing style.

I won’t bore you with photos of every single animal in the zoo, but I will say that I was shocked with the variety of animals and I was very impressed with what this zoo had to offer. I honestly thought it would be a small zoo with a handful of animals, but they did an impressive job with laying out the path such that you could see lots of animals in a short time as you wind up and down the hills.
We turned another corner and there were a bunch of geese walking around. Growing up on Long Island, I am all too familiar with geese, and not necessarily in a good way. But Ian has never seen a goose before, so he was having a great time squawking at them.
Up next was the highlight of my day (and possibly my highlight of the entire cruise)... We got to feed a giraffe!! He was so friendly and stuck his neck out, over the top of the barrier, just to say hello!
I took out a carrot from our bag of snacks, and he was so gentle as he took it from my hand.
OMG! This was so fun! I tried to take Ian out of his stroller so he could do it, but I think he was intimidated by the giraffe (which is understandable considering their size difference!). I just let him stay in the stroller and watch me feed him again.
I could have fed that giraffe our entire bag of carrots, but Jason made me stop and save some for the other animals. Okay, okay, fine!
We have a safari drive through close to our house where you can feed the Giraffes. Our 2 1/2 year old grand daughter acted the same way as Ian. She just threw the carrots. Wouldn't get close. I love your review. Thank you

Carnival has dogs you have to walk past when boarding the ships. I am not sure if dogs can smell edibles especially if you pack them with other vitamin gummies. I wouldn't put them in your carry on bag, like the lady that was banned did. Something set off the xray and when they searched her bag they found the CBD gummies. My thoughts are she went crazy and was belligerent to security, is why she received the life time ban.

15 limit for all passengers cheers or no cheers. sometimes they will allow you to go over if you are buying a round for friends. 5 minute wait between drinks on cheers.

@Saint Greg thanks for your comments. As I have only sailed on Carnival and one Celebrity cruise I am looking to branch out. I appreciate it when you and others give honest assessments of each cruise line that you sail. However, right now because of the excessive gambling I did on my last several cruises Carnival is giving me free cruises. Hard to pass up.

@Saint Greg Now that you have sailed on other lines, if pricing and itinerary were the same, which cruise line would you pick. Or does ship also make a difference?

Were you by chance also listening to Muse in the News this morning?

Has the Havana area been crowded? I am hesitant to book Havana on an Excel ship because it is on the side and small. We love Havana on Vista ships.

Thanks for all the pictures of San Juan and St Thomas. We are doing this same itinerary plus St. Maarten in August on the Magic.

You'll have to wait until I get home to see that one, it's wrapped up in newspaper... Stay tuned...
Have you thought of putting the masks in your suitcase and your dirty clothes in the box? That way the mask have a hard shell to protect them?

@MeganGC1983 did you know ahead of time that Sir Richard was going to be on the ship, or was it just pure luck?
