  1. that's tea is/ was a Special Cap Club event that is/was held towards the end of the cruise in one of the specialty rest...like Tuscan. Very nice trays abd table service etc. The daily afteroon tea in the buffet is/ was more simple and casual but held at a perfect time. Better than the delivered canapes!
  2. We are booked on ASCENT for Jan 28th in AQ Class... another Hcat birthday bash! Maybe some from the Jan 21st will stay on..
  3. thanks for this ANDY is the best!
  4. hope folks write in their reviews or detail cards that they want the afternnoon tea in the buffet fully restored....esp now that they cut out pm. canapes in AQ Class and maybe elsewhere. the pm tea was a nice pick me up..
  5. we enjoyed BEYOND..booked on ASCENT and APEX..but also trying a short Concierge Class cruise on Silhouette which had good reviews
  6. glad that we had no issues making final payment online on our cruise mgr page a few days ago..
  7. So ships's excursions not always best..I take it back. We had a had a bad one in Jamaica..non tender bare bones cargo port. Another line got the fancy terminal The tour operator did not order an adequate number of tour busses for the number of excursion seats sold. It was an unsafe port so taxis were not an option. Not enough of them anyhow After almost a 2 hr wait in the terminal with just some seats and a bthrm....we and dozens of others gave up . Celeb reluctantly agreed to refund the excursion cost. Wasted day!
  8. did this itin yrs ago on Constellation when she was new..very memorable cruise! . Overnight in Quebec, another day was a visit to the country..leaves turning .... travel up the Saguenay Fjiord, whales in the St Lawrence.. Enjoy!
  9. I guess sweet potato casserole would be a big stretch!
  10. ships excursions are def best in tender ports.. non tender ports def expect a free for all.. hopefully you will be fine and the tour guide will not wait too long for late comers!
  11. still a great menu in Cafe Baccio..thanks for posting it.. many good choices love Tea Forte and once per cruise..must do IGLU!
  12. You need to pay ahead to pre book..either with a credit card or possibly OBC? I always pre book for the slots I want with the discounted price and put charges on my cred card... You need to go into the cruise planner part of your reservation on line and hunt around for the spa treatments (not easy to locate). Once located a grid will pop up with the treatment, days/times , ports, and prices..My husb helps me do this.. takes time but we get through it! I always stop at the spa to reconfirm it all and have them i initial my res print out other choice is book on board at the spa and wait for specials listed in the bulletin what ship are you going on.. ? diff mgnt on diff ships..unless it has changed! good luck!
  13. hope the next day, they have nice leftovers at the buffet
  14. thanks for posting the menu, did not look too bad. Seems one can order two mains..one meat and a pasta or vegetarian as a side . sauce on shrimp cocktail looks more like salad dressing, ??? Nice idea to have dessert at al Baccio. i saw prosecco was $11..not bad with Classic Alc plan..not sure of our limits,,,?? Hope you are having fun!
  15. it has now been approved! btw..my husb is a spreadsheet numbers nerd but does read CC!
  16. Virgin may have high marks but after going through a few Virgin threads on CC (with photos), we know it definitely is not for us. We also know Carnival is not for us based on past reviews, being in ports with Carnival ships and their clientele, and what folks say takes place in the dining hall! That's why just going by ratings and numbers are not the best guides. Just snapshots in time...
  17. Hi Charla WELCOME BACK! I will be looking forward to your posts! We were with you on BEYOND..Gatsby Party and all. We enjoyed our Suite experience but are headed back to AQ Class on ASCENT in Jan... Hope you and Jeremy have a great time!
  18. did you know that ahead of time? will she be mingling with guests? bet she's in a nice suite and eating well!
  19. most of the cabins have residual dust under beds behind the drapes creviices and crannies , etc doubt any get a full clean up twice a day!
  20. Maybe not as difficult as projected once you get a person on the line. The initial greeting does try to have u pose the ques to the "robot". That never works well for us!
