  1. Thanks for the info! we just booked it! all the best!
  2. Baabaa, thanks very much for the information! Thats just what I was looking for! safe travels!
  3. we are doing a transatlantic on the regal next month. I have spent a couple hours on line researching how the "14 day package " for the thermal suite works scheduling....I am still confused (but then, I am from Florida!) For anyone that has done the package deal.....do you recall if can you go to the area at any time of the day or do you need to schedule a time daily? .....YEA...I know could call, or live chat with princess, but am not optimistic about getting an accurate response. Thanks in advance for any recent experiences and observations. We will be all in on paying the cost, IF we can come and go as desire.... Thanks again for any input AND...I promise we won't be chair hawgs!
  4. thanks and enjoying your report! we did the transatlantic from Rome to FLL last fall on the Regal and enjoyed it so much we booked it back to Rome next month... GREAT ship and crew! safe travels!
  5. LAcruiser 88....as usual, this is OUTSTANDING report!.... we have been traveling and just found your current cruise experience .... we were on the regal transatlantic with you last fall and picked up GREAT tips and advice from you as you were on a the prior 2 cruises before the transatlantic... Sitting here in Paris with our 8 year old granddaughter (spring break from school) , and I checked this site.....she and I have just read all 8 pages of your adventure so far....most enjoyable....thank you! not for nuthin, but we are taking the Regal back to Europe from FLL next month. have a safe and memorable remainder of your cruise! .
  6. GGEEZZZ this is all VERY refreshing to read! well done! I have enjoyed all the responses... NOT having to read about the lack of towel animals...OR....NO CHOCOLATE things on the bed....NO "super elite" " designation....the incessant chocolate cake degradation conspiracy theories...and of course the "useless" and ineffective medallion diatribes.etc... 2 old school classic southern phrases come to mind ...#1 ..."champagne taste on a beer budget"... #2 " give em a Cadillac and they complain it aint a Mercedes" Thanks for posting !
  7. following along! last time I saw your posts you were still working ......hopefully now you are enjoying retirement! be safe!
  8. Good evening from Florida... actually we are currently about 60 miles south of the OP's home.... since the OP started this report I have found myself very much looking forward each and every day for daily for updates and comments.....its one of the best live trip reports ever!...Next November we will be island princess stopping in Rome ,Israel and a transatlantic cruise back to Florida. So ....as is my current routine.....this evening, I secured a lite beer from Miller and started my search and perusal of this thread...just a few of the above responses confused me.... so I am only consuming one beer tonight... to the OP......really outstanding report ! thank you !
  9. Regarding your dolphin deck mini suite.....we are in a club class mini suite on dolphin deck next November ........2 stops in Israel sold us on this particular cruise! also doing it B2Bto port everglades since we live in Florida and I don't like flying...would you do dolphin deck location again on island princess? . . thanks for your thoughts and perspective!
  10. Since we are cruising to Isreal on the Island next November ,we have been looking at reviews etc here. we found some great information ( and a REALLY GREAT " semi "live from!!) currently on this board. Although the writer is blogging on a world cruise from there Island, we found a lot of good info on the ship itself.....plus its a fascinating read. authored by we_like_ to_ cruise.
  11. Certainly not an exact science, but I suggest that you look at recent reviews of the ship here on cruise critic....they will be the most recent observations of folks on the crown. .I think there are some "live froms" too.
  12. Very good advice from many of the posts above..... On background ....during a week long trip to London 15 years ago, my wife threatened ...and... against my will.... drug me to Paris for ONE day via the Eurostar. Now we go to Paris twice a year. Flying out of Charles Degaulle (CDG) can be very busy, but certainly manageable. Crazy as it sounds, ,If we are on a cruise, and if we dock in Le Havre, we will suffer the several hours on a cruise ship sponsored bus ride, to have 4-5 hours in Paris on our own before returning to the ship.. Next month we are taking our 8 year old granddaughter to Paris ( her 2nd trip and she insists a yearly ritual!) via the Eurostar from London. The Eurostar is a great option for you to consider and is a lifetime memory by itself. A word of caution.... for Your 18 and 20 year old family members, visiting Paris will become a destination they will return to many times! Its that special!
  13. another vote for Hanalei! ....the island of Kauai is incredible beyond words! I'm very much looking forward to We-like - to -cruise report and photos!this is one of the best trip reports I have ever read!
  14. just as a follow up to yowmans phone number! ...I received incredible customer service from the "easy air rep" and perfect resolution to my issue!
  15. Great thread! thanks for starting it! not for nuthin.... but the temperature in pool currently is 81 degrees F. ....I need to crank up the solar a bit!
  16. thanks yowman for that phone number! I just received an email this morning with an ezair change.... looks like delta is switching the aircraft I had booked out of Paris....I went from comfort plus to economy on the first segment of the trip.Being 6"4" I would need surgery and a can of wd40 to fit in an economy seat! being a Sunday ezair is closed... but I saw your # and just had a really great chat with a princess rep who is looking into it for me. She is CALLING ME BACK tomorrow! thanks again
  17. ONE OF THE BEST REPORTS EVER! please keep sharing your thoughts!
  18. absolutely great to be following your journey! ...thanks again for responding responding to my inquiry! safe journey!
  19. by "we like to cruise".........greetings from sarasota......great report and we are following along! regarding your rental car and drop off.... we have a budget car rental one way to port everglades in April for a transatlantic.....since Avis and budget are as one, did you drop off the rental at : Ft Lauderdale Cruiseport Shttl,EV3 2520 Miami Rd, FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33316 US if so ....it sounds like you had a good experience? thanks in advance and safe travels!
  20. Duct tape....leave home and cruise or travel without it at your own peril !!
  21. we really enjoyed your posts! they brought back GREAT memories of our recent transatlantic on the Regal! on that light sensor.......I tried duct tape, band aids, and a ham sandwich in an effort to disable it...only had marginal success. we enjoyed the cruise so much we are taking the Regal back to Europe this spring! PLEASE come back here on your 80's cruise! thanks again
  22. also look at the "travelinsurancestore" website... HIGHLY recommended here and they are wonderful to work with! since we travel a lot we too use the annual geoblue treckker policy and princess policy. have a great cruise!
  23. Allow me to add my support for the trip insurance store! as mentioned above, anyone who travels a lot should consider the Geo Blue trekker option with its annual coverage option. we found that also on the trip insurance store website. safe travels!
