  1. Welcome to Cruise Critic. You should check your dates and be sure your departure is 10/22 and then look for your roll call. On my computer screen there is a link near the top of the page to find roll calls:
  2. Good points but the key is that the SDP is free. I personally am not counting on that remaining the case forever. If the Prima menu would only do this, put a complimentary special or two on the menu each night, it would make it so much better, IMO. Just like a land based restaurant who has a fixed menu week after week, they typically add a couple "specials" each night.
  3. That's a great point, depending on the personality and tendencies of the 15 year old. I know that on past cruises with my daughter, who is very outgoing, ate dinner with friends she met many nights. I wouldn't be able to count on her wanting to have dinner with us so I might not want to buy SDP for her (or for 2nd adult if we made daughter Guest#2).
  4. Of course it was a different situation. "Why" they cancelled it wasn't the point. The fact that NCL could have cancelled it was the point. In hindsight that might have made OP happier, but without the benefit of hindsight my guess is OP would have been as disappointed if not more so had they cancelled.
  5. Well, there was one other way to handle it: Cancel the cruise. While cancelling might have made OP happier, my guess is there was far more people who managed to enjoy the cruise north than didn't enjoy it.
  6. It could have been outright cancelled instead - like the September 29 Getaway cruise was cancelled.
  7. @Stevio I'm not following you. What you state to be a salient point in shof515's post, I can not find in shof515's post nor can I find on the NCL page. My reading of the page is that both people in the room on a 7 night cruise each get 150 minutes for 300 total.
  8. @wolft927 - Looks like Getaway is hanging around New York right now, that might impact your departure.
  9. After all this anxiety? I'd order a Hurricane!
  10. I get it. "Brochure Suite" - it's only a "suite" in the brochure, not in reality.
  11. I hope you are wrong about the typical/target passenger. You very well may be right, but, I hope you are wrong. There is a lot I like about NCL but if the included meals are going to be the equivalent of a "Grand Buffet" and/or "Applebees" on land, I'll be moving on because that is not what I want on my cruise.
  12. Oh, I see now. You received an e-mail confirmation that says $250 and the web site says $150. I'd give it another day, sometimes the web site lags behind.
  13. likely you can select seats when you check-in. You should also be able to pay to bring a full size checked bag.
  14. The expectation of many is that dinner on a cruise should be a fine, sit down affair. The buffet and The Local do not meet that expectation. I can't speak to Indulge, but Indulge isn't on other NCL ships. If you want fine dining and want to avoid the monotony of the same menu/food every night, then yes you are forced to go to Specialty Dining.
  15. Well, it would be done "for your convenience" of course 😉 .
  16. If you have $250 in credit, isn't that what you were expecting?
  17. God you are exhausting. I commented about doing the research, you acknowledge my research statement. I suppose I should have said "No way I'm going to trust anyone with my travel research". See above.
  18. I suppose you could trust someone else to do it. No way I'm going to trust anyone with my travel arrangements.
  19. First thing that jumped to my mind is this is a step on the path towards open bar no longer being a FAS offering that most everyone gets for "free". Now if I am correct, then this might be a latitudes benefit with actual value.
  20. I was unaware of the ability to transfer the booking. When I read this, I immediately thought that might be something I would do. Why? Because I do a significant amount of the research on my own before booking. When I narrow it down to the point I know what I want to book, it might be just as easy to book it when it's sitting there on the screen in front of me. For this cruise I have upcoming in November, I don't think "transfer" would apply because the TA rate was so much less than NCL's. But typically in my experience the actual cruise fare is the same, it's only perks that differ so the transfer might be interesting.
  21. I'm sorry, but anyone who does not comprehend that OP is talking about neighbor's wife needs to go back to reading comprehension class.
  22. I always compare NCL direct (or actually any of the cruise lines) to a couple of the online TAs. Every time, the TAs do better. Sometimes it's just a $100 OBC, other times it's more substantial. (Coming Encore cruise this November I saved about $700). I've never had a problem with TA responsiveness. I do use an agency and there is always someone available if I need something immediately.
