  1. I've noted that the AIS on Serenity is back on. I'm thinking her work in drydock MAY be wrapping up. I have another sunset today from my 2015 Prinsendam cruise. On June 11 we visited Killybegs, Ireland. Roy
  2. Thank you for Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, Ann, and Graham. I like all 3 of today's dates, especially corn on the cob. I think I've been to Seville just once, way back in 2012 on Celebrity Solstice. Interesting quote by Aurelius. I wonder where we would be today if we had not declared independence. I'll pass on the salmon. My alternative is Chilled Watermelon Gazpacho and Lamb Loin with Mint Chinchurri as served on MS Prinsendam June 11, 2015, and I would probably add a side of corn on the cob. Our smoke has been mostly replaced by ozone, still moderate air quality in my suburb but unhealthy for seniors in Baltimore City. Roy
  3. I have a sunset today from my 2016 Anthem of the Seas cruise out of Bayonne. June 10 was the final sea day before returning to Bayonne: Roy

  5. Trying to figure out what that red spot is next to Wimbleton Court. I'm guessing some kind of an antenna on the big mast but it ALMOST looks like it cold be on the ship.
  6. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. I love Ball Point Pens but keep losing them. Not really much either for herbs and spices or iced tea (much prefer hot), I have not been to Lembar Lombak. A big salute to the equal pay act. I love the Angelou quote but have no idea what the meal is. My alternative is Papaya with Rainbow of Fruit, Cheese Ravioli, and Strawberry Ice Cream as served on MS Prinsendam June 10, 2017. Prayers today for Mary Kay, @smitty34877 DH and Tana, @SusieKIslandGirl's half sister, Dixie, Terri, @marshhawk and Chuck @ktbraun's friend, and Terri. Roy
  7. Just out of curiosity, how did Tracy Arm by big ship compare with Glacier Bay? Roy
  8. Darn, completely lost track of the time. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  9. Quantum arriving as Volendam passes Thane. Roy
  10. It's far from ideal but if you have no other alternative, have a look at Aquila Game Reserve. Unlike the big safaris the animals are all captives that have had some kind of injury and can not survive fully in the wild but are still quite active. It's close enough that it CAN be done on a day trip from Cape Town but they also have a lodge and overnight packages. In 2014 I disembarked Crystal Serenity in Cape Town and boarded Amsterdam 3 days later, and spent one night at Aquila. They do offer both transfers (about 2 1/2 hours each way) and lodging. I strongly recommend at least 1 night at Aquila (if you choose that) as the animals are most active in the early morning before the day trips arrive), Here's a link to the 2 days of my blog involved: https://wcmedley2014.wordpress.com/2014/03/31/day-36-monday-march-31-aquila-game-reserve-south-africa/ https://wcmedley2014.wordpress.com/2014/04/02/day-37-tuesday-april-1-board-ms-amsterdam-cape-town/ Roy
  11. I don't think HAL ever goes into Tracy Arm. The excursion is only offered on Koningsdam and Volendam. These cruises essentially do 3 cruises in one, although only the full 7 days can be booked by itself. The 7-day cruise: Vancouver Inside Passage Juneau (with Tracy Arm service call) Skagway Glacier Bay Ketchikan Inside Passage Vancouver. At the same time, there are passengers who start in Anchorage, travel overland to Skagway and board the ship for Glacier Bay, Ketchikan, and Vancouver. Finally, some passengers board the ship in Vancouver, sail to Juneau and Skagway, and then travel overland to Anchorage. Without the Tracy Arm excursion, those ;passengers would never get any glacier experience, hence the Tracy Arm excursion. Anyone can book Tracy Arm, but if they do they get just a short stay in Juneau. I think for most people doing the full 7 days, the extra time in Juneau will outweigh the Tracy Arm visit with Glacier Bay generally considered the better glacier experience. If you really want to see Tracy Arm I'd suggest inquiring onboard if there are any last minute openings. Roy
  12. Looks like at the moment Volendam is meeting up with St. Phillip for the Tracy Arm excursion. Roy
  13. @JazzyV it's the tiny particulate matter that's the issue. If you can wear an N95 mask when outdoors, that's a benefit. Roy
  14. You're right about that. I'm thinking of a cruise in 2017. Roy
  15. I'm pretty sure that was 8218, (LA), San Diego to New York: Trying to remember, had Crystal changed the numbering system before that cruise finally embarked? @Drib (Apparently the name is not still active) captured the photo and posted it. Roy
  16. Today's sunrise is from my 2015 Prinsendam European cruise. On June 9 we visited Dublin: Roy

  18. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann for the TGIF Fleet Report and Daily. I think I see a connection between the day in history and Donald Duck Day. Writers Rights are extremely important. I've often enjoyed a Strawberry-Rhubarb Crisp on a BHB which I think is pretty close to a pie. I have never been to Croatia. I like the Lincoln quote but will pass on the salmon. My alternative is Chilled Peach Soup and Boston Lager Strip Loin Steak as served on MS Prinsendam June 9, 2015. Way too many dailyites facing challenges at this time. Still smoky but not as bad here. On the way to Wegmans soon but will stop on the way for a bit of a walk in the enclosed mall. Roy
  19. Patty, fortunately things are a little bet better in the country but still pretty grim. Today's sunrise is from my 2016 Anthem of the Seas cruise out of Bayonne. On June 8 we visited the private enclave of Labadee, Haiti: Roy

  21. A nice redemption. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  22. Still a slight chance for redemption. Roy
  23. Noordam is close. I hope Eclipse doesn't hog all the screen time. Roy
