  1. Today's sunrise is from my 2016 Northwest Passage Cruise. On August 3 I awoke on Amtrak's Empire Builder somewhere in Montana on the way to Seattle and Seward to meet Crystal Serenity: Roy

  3. Thank you for the Hump Day Report, Rich. An interesting collection of days; have not heard of Cloves Syndrome (and surprisingly, never heard of TENS before yesterday). While I have been to several Japanese Ports I am coming to realize how many I have not been to (including Sakaiminato,). Love the Game of Thrones quote. I think I'll pass on the Chile. My alternative is Apple. Pear, and Cucumber Salad, Steak from Surf and Turf, and Almond and Orange Cake as served on MS Westerdam August 3, 2018. Today’s care list: RIP Vin Sculley smitty’s entire family with Covid but mostly improving Crabbi Patti’s father and now son with Covid JazzyV knee pain and now palm bruise Cruzin Terri painful joints and wait until September 22 for hand surgeon appointment The locks at Ijmuiden(Rotterdam diverted to at least 8/14) From the rotation: Strength and healing for Kazu Painful falls for Cruzn Single Sister, Marshhawk, and Lindaler Heartgrove brother discharged but rapidly declining despite rally Tana with persistent problems Celebrations and Shoutouts: Shadow/Little in Kazu’s care and making progress Crabbi Patti on camp nurse duty to 8/8 Volendam caring for refugees Marshhawk major decision to end dog walking Live4cruises in NC Hills to 8/11 Aliaschief touring Hebrides to 8/14 Welcome home Vict0riann 5 days for AMRDS (Nieuw Amsterdam 8/7 to 8/14) 5 days for Mister67 (Equinox 8/7 to 8/13) Bon Voyage Mtn2sea and kplady (Nieuw Statendam 8/3 to 8/27) Cat in My Lap (Zaandam to 8/13), and Gail&Marty (Rotterdam to 10/15) at sea Staff Captain Sabine - Our first female Staff Captain and HAL’s likely first female Captain(I know this is a repeat but she’s worth it) Roy
  4. I can understand offering advice before taking in Shadow/Little but criticism after the fact is just plain mean and petty. Shame on them. Roy
  5. I have no travel sunrises for August 2. I vowed I would get something today no matter what and took my walk along a local lake. The angle was totally wrong and no trace of the sun and in desperation I finally found this with the sun rising through the trees across the street from my house: Roy

  7. Love Ice cream, sandwich or otherwise and CAD is a big advancement. I'll miss National Night Out due to a meeting. It looks like I have not been to Horta but have been to other islands. Love the Twain quote but will pass on the meal. My alternative is Lido DIY Salad, Pork Chop with Mashed Potatoes, and MDR Blueberry Sundae, as enjoyed on MS Westerdam August 2, 2018. I chose to get most of dinner in the Lido so I could be on deck for our sailaway from Juneau,=: Today’s care list: smitty’s entire family with Covid Crabbi Patti’s father and now son with Covid JazzyV knee pain and StLouis Cruiser’s continuing leg issues Cruzin Terri painful joints crusin single giving up transatlantic cruise The locks at Ijmuiden(Rotterdam diverted to at least 8/14) From the rotation: Tana with persistent problems Cruising-along niece awaiting a kidney Amy adjusting to widowhood and children Status of St. Louis Sal (7/1), msmayor (5/20) and JAM37 (7/7) Celebrations and Shoutouts: Shadow in Kazu’s care and making progress Crabbi Patti on camp nurse duty to 8/8 Volendam caring for refugees Marshhawk major decision to end dog walking Live4cruises in NC Hills to 8/11 Aliaschief touring Hebrides to 8/14 5 days for AMRDS (Nieuw Amsterdam 8/7 to 8/14) 5 days for Mister67 (Equinox 8/7 to 8/13) 1 day for Mtn2sea and kplady (Nieuw Statendam 8/3 to 8/27) Vict0riann (Nieuw Statendam (to 8/3), Cat in My Lap (Zaandam to 8/13), and Gail&Marty (Rotterdam to 10/15) at sea Staff Captain Sabine - Our first female Staff Captain and HAL’s likely first female Captain(I know this is a repeat but she’s worth it) Roy
  8. I personally see little reason to go beyond Princess Grille. By the way, for that Gala night, do the Grills offer the ability to get room service from the Grille? Roy
  9. Exactly! It does help that except for the pre-boarding proctored test all the tests I have taken are provided free by either the US government (Antigen) or my county Health Department(PCR). Minimizing the spread is important to them and important to me. Roy
  10. @marshhawk I am fascinated by your September cruise. I don't think the Fantasy class has ever done many long cruises and it's especially strange for a ship about to leave the fleet. Do enjoy it, it possibly happened as a sign from Heaven that it was time for your dog walk retirement celebration cruise. Roy
  11. You are deservedly blessed with wonderful neighbors. Now wishing you a quick recovery, especially for Tana. Roy
  12. Is it the same host who posted on the thread? If so, she isn't new but new to the HAL forum. She's been working at least the Cunard forum for a few years now and has been a very positive influence over there. There might be a bit of a learning curve but I think it is a very positive development for the HAL forum. Roy
  13. I'm going to recommend that all dailyites check out the new thread on towel animals. I found it very funny, Roy
  14. Give me or Make me? That got a very special treatment in Come From Away. Roy
  15. Today's sunrise is from my 2018 Grand Alaska/Panama combination. On August 1, MS Westerdam visited Haines, Alaska yesterday's port of the day: Roy

  17. Yes, Happy Anniversary, Keith and Anne Marie. I am not at a stage where I buy any cooking equipment unless it's absolutely necessary. Roy
  18. Rabbit Rabbit White Rabbit (Thanks for the reminder @erewhon). A great selection of days. I've climbed my share of mountain's when I was younger (Including Maryland's highest a few times). I love the Ghandi quote but don't think I've been to Gaspe. I am starting today somewhat sad as I would have hoped someone who objected to Reverend David's sermons would have said something publicly rather than apparently flagging the posts. The meal sounds great. My alternative is Gourmet Greens, Pork Chop with Parsnip Puree, and Peach Crisp as served on MS Westerdam August 1, 2018: Today’s care list: smitty’s entire family with Covid Crabbi Patti’s father and now son with Covid JazzyV knee pain and StLouis Cruiser’s continuing leg issues Cruzin Terri painful joints Ren not feeling well Quartzite DH needing neurosurgeon appointment The locks at Ijmuiden(Rotterdam diverted to at least 8/14) From the rotation: Tana with persistent problems Cruising-along niece awaiting a kidney Amy adjusting to widowhood and children Status of St. Louis Sal (7/1), msmayor (5/20) and JAM37 (7/7) Celebrations and Shoutouts: Welcome aboard Paw13 Shadow in Kazu’s care Crabbi Patti on camp nurse duty to 8/8 Volendam caring for refugees Live4cruises in NCH Hills to 8/11 Aliaschief touring Hebrides to 8/14 6 days for AMRDS (Nieuw Amsterdam 8/7 to 8/14) 6 days for Mister67 (Equinox 8/7 to 8/13) 2 days for Mtn2sea and kplady (Nieuw Statendam 8/3 to 8/27) Welcome home dfish and Seasick Sailer Vict0riann (Nieuw Statendam (to 8/3), Cat in My Lap (Zaandam to 8/13), and Gail&Marty (Rotterdam to 10/15) at sea Vacationing Staff Captain Sabine - Our first female Staff Captain and HAL’s likely first female Captain(I know this is a repeat but she’s worth it) Roy
  19. You do need a passport (book or card) for it and it's a standard excursion. WPYR offers several options. Roy
  20. Great news. @kazu I think I'll keep you on the care rotation for a while. It isn't that long and while Shadow is a blessing she's a blessing that brings another round of challenges. Roy
