  1. Sorry, don't know that answer. I also want to point out you can bring your own soft drinks onboard (no limit, except what you can carry, as it must be brought onboard with your carry on bags, not checked).
  2. As noted, you purchase the WiFi once at the port/onboard. Yes, there are drink stations on the pool deck and in the buffet. Those are "free". You fill your cup (provided at the drink station) whenever you like. Sodas are also "free" when ordered in the dining rooms. If you order a soda from a lounge/bar, from a poolside server, or room service there is a charge. There are no soda packages like on other cruise lines. Drink stations have sodas, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water.
  3. I would expect that information could be found on their own website. But, I don't understand the "there is basically nothing in the river cruise section" comment. If you go to the River Cruising forum and search for Gate 1, you'll get several hits. Maybe one of those will have the information you are looking for. We found on our river cruises (on another line) that there wasn't really a dress code. Generally Smart Casual would fit. I also had a semi-dressy skirt/blouse for fancier dinners onboard.
  4. Happened to us. We were upgraded from an oceanview to an verandah about a month before our cruise once.
  5. If you do a search for Disney Wonder Room Reviews you'll find a good site for such information. Also, the DCL website has pictures of the various staterooms. That could be helpful.
  6. If a specific country requires a 6 month left on passport for entering, then it's quite likely you may not be allowed to board. It's not the cruise line that's requiring the 6 months, it's a country specific requirement. You need to check the specific countries that you will be visiting for their restrictions. You say "it states that passports should be valid for 6 months beyond the date of the start of the cruise." The operative word is "should". It could just be the TA's policy to make such a statement.
  7. Boy, I'm glad we reserved our HIA cruise with the gratuities included.
  8. Most cruise lines have a shuttle option. Have you checked with yours? The car rental places are in town, not at the port. You'd drop off car there and take their shuttle to the port.
  9. Actually I said Google, but I meant Chrome. 😕
  10. I appreciate the help you're offering. Up to this point I've not had to actually change anything that you've suggested. I'll talk to my husband about this latest suggestion when he returns. BTW, I also have Edge on my computer, but I'm really comfortable with Google so that's what I use.
  11. Not sure what "browser" is - I have Dell Inspiron computer. I'm on Google/Chrome.
  12. Went to my settings and JavaScript option says "Sites can use JavaScript"
  13. Even when I turned off my blocker, I couldn't access the HAL website on my laptop. We can, however, get there on my husband's desktop.
  14. If, indeed, it's my blocker (only have one), HAL is the only site I have problems with.
  15. We've already checked my adblocker. Holland America is on the allowed list.
  16. Had to check with my "computer guy" (husband) as I'm not tech-y literate. That's his skill in life. Computer is 2 years old. Laptop. Very fast computer connection.
  17. Our first tour in Denali it was clear before we got to the place where we could see the mountain it wasn't going to happen. I asked the guide to point where the mountain would be, if we could see it. I have this nice picture of the edge of the parking area, and a big fog cloud behind it.
  18. Nope. I still can only get to the main (1st) page. Once I click on ANYTHING, the screen greys out and I get the spinning circle of death.
  19. I can't access the HAL website on my computer. Haven't been able to for months. I've tried all the suggestions that others have made here for "fixing" the issue. No good. I can access via incognito, however, but I don't like having to take an extra step every time I want to go there. I believe the issue is on HAL's end. We recently booked excursions on our upcoming cruise using my husband's desktop computer (after trying to access website from my computer for weeks). I really wish they'd figure out what's wrong.
  20. As far as I can see, Fat Truck tours doesn't actually tour inside the National Park. We've taken 2 of the tours on the school busses. It was fine. There were potty stops. There were also "get out and take pictures" stops (about every 1 1/2 to 2 hours). Yes, it's quite possible the windows get dirty as the roads are generally dirt/gravel packed. If it's raining the mud does get on the the windows. When we stopped the driver would "clean" the windows with a bucket and squeegee. He asked for helpers, as it would go faster that way. There were many who helped with this.
  21. And the answer is - you have to cancel the excursion you already have before the waitlist option will work.
  22. We booked an excursion in one port, but also did a wait list request for a different excursion in the same port. If the wait list comes through, what happens to the excursion reservation we already have? Does it automatically cancel? Or do we have to cancel it ourselves?
  23. I will just point out the information posted seems to be from a cruise line site, and not the actual law. Even the cruise lines don't know what they're talking about, it seems.
