  1. Thanks for the clarification and I agree with you. However the "new CEO" is seemingly the parent group's board since they stripped the CEO title when LLP left. LLP was CEO and President, Laura is only the President
  2. Times have changed as we now have Starlink. Those who routinely interact with their friends and family via smartphones want to continue to do so while cruising. Perhaps only a handful of people are complaining about their meal
  3. Sadly on the newer ships it is. Carnival beats X with burgers, lunch guys BBQ or Shaq's fried chicken, and lobster as X still uses inferior Spiny (Carnival and RCI use superior Maine), and better complimentary food if on a newer ship (free BBQ, Mexican/Asian and Italian restaurants in addition to the MDR ) and MDR desserts like the chocolate melting cake X beats Carnival at the buffet and the MDR but as stated, if on a newer carnival ship, some speciality restaurants could be free I was a fan of X's paid chocolate chip cookie offering assuming free cookies were still available as X's free cookies are nothing to write home about and the same with Carnival. Their cookies are like picking the better cookie between Chips Ahoy and Keebler Elves
  4. X was completely silent on the 2023 cutbacks until the "Cookiegate" outrage happened. Maybe just maybe that froze the planned 2024 cutbacks
  5. You'd also be SOL if you forgot your passport. If one is routinely forgetting their headphones, they should consider buying a carrying headphone case. Leave them in your suitcase and when it comes time to pack, put them on top of your passport. Some random examples of sub $10 cases If you have lots of cables for various devices For headphones only
  6. The sailing must be 7 nights or more for them to serve lobster. One tail for free, additional fee for additional tails if in the MDR. They serve the inferior Spiny/Caribbean species, not the superior Maine species that ironically both Carnival and RCI serve
  7. It's not Prime if that's what you're asking
  8. You're 100% correct. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is that the OP is on the fence with an AQ move-up bid/bidding amount which is why it was asked the way it was To oversimplify it as much as possible, how does one rate the MDR on a scale of 1 to 10? Whatever that number is, add a 1 to it and then you have your Blu rating. It's a slightly elevated MDR experience which is my personal opinion based on actual dining experiences, talking to passengers on board, and reading on here, There are some additional benefits like no extra charge for multiple lobster tails, and on some ships, you can order anything off the MDR menu but not everyone will utilize those benefits
  9. We feel the same. I always thought you get a little shafted as Blu isn't open for lunch
  10. I'll answer the question with another question, how many would NOT book AQ class if Blu was NOT inclusive?
  11. Once it inevitably happens to the non-suites, there will be quite the uproar as half the people will say they're upset while the other half will say stop whining, we don't care about turndown
  12. They just recently allowed advanced reservations for RCI so you'd have to imagine it will trickle down to X, eventually
  13. The only question is, when will this trickle down (or up) to the next lowest suite category of the Celebrity suites?
  14. Yup, I'm guessing they mirrored the CR site. The good news is that you only need your Capt's Club # so if you are willing to check weekly, you can ignore all snail mail and email offers. Also of note, seemingly inside-room offers do not qualify for trade-in values
  15. Didn't even look at it, was trying www, HTTP, https, lol. Thanks
  16. I can confirm it is a celebrity website because the site is currently down
  17. It's baffling to me why they snail mail you out postcards with a QR that directs you to your online offer but they don't also email these offers/QR codes. The other issue is that a lot of the sailings run out of comped rooms
  18. No arguing is required when you ask ahead of time, no surprises
  19. The only positive about the flat rate is you're nearly guaranteed they'll get there the fastest. When metered, while I doubt they'd drive you around town, they may avoid some shortcuts
  20. Especially in 2021, they would tell you 30 seconds after you departed with them, "fixed price of $20"
  21. Since you don't want to experience that bad taste any longer than you have to, you don't need to hold it more than a couple of seconds because, down the hatch in one gulp, it goes 🙃
  22. It should be, always check with them before getting in (this is true of any taxi anywhere) because at any time they could claim the fare is now $30 and you're stuck fighting with them at the airport
  23. Some of us simply don't have enough vacation days so it's either don't go on vacation at all or work while cruising
  24. It's supposed to be metered and around $15 yet usually unless you ask the driver before you get in they'll lie and say it's a fixed price of $20 even though you can see the meter is running. Figure out the rate before you get in. They'll also charge extra, I think double, if you need to drop off people at different terminals
