    Diamond Club Speedtest this morning Some people decorate their cabins with balloons and streamers dangling from the ceiling….others decorate with a CPAP extension cord.

    What’s funny is that it didn’t even really hit me until the first bite…then I was like “wait a minute” 🤣🤣

    I honestly can’t say if I just missed it on the menu…I’m 100% on the “a good steak doesn’t need sauce” train ..just some salt. So I did some scraping. It was a good filet…maybe just a hair on the well side of medium (ordered medium), but not enough to worry about. Wife’s was done even more…she sent it back and it was perfect for her the second time around.

    BOGO dinner at Giovanni’s tonight. We each got the filet. She got Gnocchi Gorgonzola and liked it. I got the mushroom risotto which has always been one of my fave RC dishes. Lemon sorbet for dessert was really nice.

    We try to drink 2 or 3 bottles of water per day…we don’t do the drinks package anymore since turning D+. These are the biggest ones I can remember getting…IIRC it’s always been 20oz bottles before.

    A little too fruity for my taste. I like my bourbon/rye with a hint of something else, not my fruit punch with a hint of bourbon/rye!

    In the room at 1:00. Bags were waiting outside the door when we got there. Everything unpacked…bed made. These things have been back savers for my wife and I when sleeping on the notoriously hard RC beds. Diamond Lounge letter Water package has turned classy

    Our first time on Las Olas….we’ve always done 17th as well but my wife made it pretty clear she likes Las Olas better. I think @Sea Dog would agree, the Riverside Hotel is a wonderful place to stay!

    Very easy check in! Stepped out of our Uber at 11:20, through check-in and onboard at 11:40. Muster done, BOGO D+ reservations done (they let us use one on Day 5…we’ll probably switch it for the group dinner on day 3). Current situation at Schooner bar: Kraken Colada for her, Rittenhouse Rye Old Fashioned for me.

    The prices were pretty reasonable. My Heaven Hill and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof were both in the $16-22 range. There were some heavy hitters of course, but overall I’d say nothing was more outrageously priced than any normal whiskey bar.

    It wouldn’t be a normal embarkation day if we didn’t have to make a run to the local CVS for the sunscreen/lotion/hard candies we forgot to pack. So off we go! @Sea Dog @jmh2006 @Momof3gurlz @mo&fran see you onboard!!!

    Growing up, we always had a boat. Many summers spent on Hood Canal and in the San Juan Islands. My dad used to take my brother and I to the Seattle Boat Show every year…good memories.

    We used go to to STL a couple times every year when our daughter was going to school in Carbondale. I really love Alaska from Seattle even more now that they go most places direct. May not be the most convenient times (e.g. flights from FLL after our cruise next Saturday are at 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM), but I’ll take later direct flights over layovers whenever I can.

    Yes, 5ish hours Everyone is correct! Love this about Alaska. This actually isn’t bad at all for an Old Fashioned in a can. It’s actually after noon in FLL and I’m not drinking alone so it’s all good.

    7:30 - Sitting in the Alaska Lounge at SeaTac with a half hour before boarding. The first “should I or shouldn’t I?” of the trip 🤣

    I don't really have any concrete basis to say this (in other words, I'm a typical CC poster), but I'd bet that the marginal cost to add an additional internet user within any given ship's current system is zero.

    Awesome, thanks for that. If they have all of that next week, it won't be all bad. Shine On You Crazy Diamond is a top 10 song of all-time for me, maybe top 5.
