  1. I drive by the RR Diner (Mar-T Cafe, although now it's called something else, but still has the same sign on the corner) all the time going to see my brother...but I've never stopped in for a slice of cherry pie. Anytime anyone asks what the best TV pilot ever is, the answer is always Twin Peaks.
  2. No one cares except the CC dress code police...none of whom work for Royal. Wear what you're comfortable wearing.
  3. You can get direct RT from Charleston to SEA around that time on Alaska for under $500.
  4. @Jimbo I live about an hour south of the falls. My brother lives in North Bend, less than 10 minutes away. I've seen it both ways and in between! You can hike down to the river level just a stone's throw away from the bottom of the falls (where they found Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks), which I've done more than a few times and it's always spectacular. @Coralc Yep, that's the Snoqualmie Falls Lodge (actually now called the Salish Lodge but old folks like me will always call it by its old name). They were pretty famous for their pancake breakfast, where the waiter/waitress would pour the (incredible) syrup from as high as they could reach and make it fall perfectly over your pancakes.
  5. Sorry to hear that Greg. But as I always say to myself and Andi when we are faced with those decisions...the Caribbean will always be there, your (and Linda's) health may not be...and good for you for making that the priority. We'll raise more than one OF toast to your new knees and everything else health-wise on Bella 2, 2.5, and 3!!!
  6. And don't forget the endless people quoting a full post of 20 pics just to say "That's a yummy looking salad!"
  7. Same. I know a few as well and wouldn't wish what they described on my worst enemy. I got it right after I turned 50. I can tell you the shot(s) laid me out for a day.
  8. Had a productive Saturday. Plenty to celebrate with my Huskies in the CFP. Getting close to having a roof!!! And our kitty is getting back to normal and taking up his old spots…
  9. Exactly. Take it or don't. You can "what if something bad happens?" yourself with either scenario all day long.
  10. I've asked pre-cruise every time and never had one show up. I've asked my cabin steward first day every time and always had one within a few hours.
  11. Productive morning pick-up…with Andi on Harmony this week with her sister, at least I’ll be able miss her in style.
  12. Yeah, to get upset at a "no jumping into the pool" rule seems kinda weird. Almost seems like it was a tad more than a simple "hop" into the pool...more like a family "CANNONBALL!!!!!"
  13. Not a great situation all around, but full refund plus 100% FCC free cruise and free deluxe drinks package sounds like a pretty fair compensation package. Hardly something to be ashamed of.
  14. Very good suggestions Andrew, thank you. We have our dog chipped but I honestly can't remember if we had Maxx chipped. I would tend to doubt it since he has always been an inside cat. We may indeed do that now. We are going to get (in fact, it should be delivered tonight by Amazon) a cat collar with an Apple Air Tag...funny enough I put them on my Christmas list and my wife bought a four pack, so I may bust out the gift early and put it on him tonight. The dewormer is a great idea. I've thought of that all day today, what he's been eating and how it's affected his inner workings. So far he's pooped and peed in his litter box, but we're definitely going to have him checked out soon. Did you get a prescription from the vet or try an over the counter dewormer like you can get on Amazon?
  15. So....holiday miracle story time. We knew in the back of our minds that someday our kitty Maxx would figure out the dog door in the slider to the back yard of the rental house we're in while our house is being rebuilt, but we have to have it so our dog Stevie can come and go outside. On October 5th, Maxx finally figured it out and went missing. I posted in the FB neighborhood page, had a few "I think we saw a black and white cat" responses, spent days/weeks looking, but nothing. I guess you never really give up hope, but we gave up hope. Last night, Andi and I were sitting at the dinner table and heard some meowing. Not super unusual, since there are a few feral cats around the neighborhood. Andi went to the back door and sitting at the dog door meowing was Maxx. Seven weeks later. He came inside and immediately knew he was home. No running or hiding. We put out some water and some of his cat food we had kept in the garage and he wolfed it down like Joey Chestnut at the Nathan's hot dog eating contest. Tears of joy flowed. He (and we) barely slept last night but kept going between Andi and me for snuggles and petting pretty much all night long. He is noticeably skinnier, but no other physical signs of wear and tear. We sure missed him while he was gone. Blessed.
  16. Yep, this. "Hello! I'd like to pay for a three year world cruise." "Fantastic! We'll take your money, no problem." "What ship will this be on?" "Don't worry, you'll be on a luxurious cruise ship...just like home." "But what ship is it?" "Oh, we've got a bunch of contracts signed. Don't worry...we'll have one by embarkation day." "Alrighty then, sign me up!!!"
  17. Ugh, so sorry to hear that. Andi seems to have the same health luck between her knee, hip, etc....it's always something she's battling. Sending good vibes to both of you that things work out. Beyond will always be there, health is more important!
  18. We are looking at the 8 night Southern as well. Gonna take some time this weekend, look at cabins and the calendar and hopefully shoot off an email to our TA too!
  19. Translation: I don't understand the basic supply and demand nature of economics.
  20. One of the best Christmas presents Andi ever got me was some cheese club she found that sent us three or four different cheeses every three months. We’d order meats from Salumi in Seattle (if you’ve never had their meats, do yourself a favor and order a gift pack online….Salumi was one of Anthony Bourdain’s favorite restaurants), get a few other items, and have charcuterie boards for dinner two or three nights.
