Thinking about going after our cruise since our flight isn’t until 4:30, and have an Uber pick us up there. Per google it is 1.2 miles. Is it a walkable 1.2 miles? Meaning sidewalks the whole way? We don’t mind walking, even with our suitcase, but will grab a cab if we need to. Thanks!

We did it in May. They walked our group over, we waited while the train went to the ships first and loaded. Then they came and got us. We had a car for our time/group of people. You could go outside, front or back on The train, better pictures. Of course some people were rude, and didn’t share the primo spots. Just stood their ground and the heck with everyone else. Still bugs me…. 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for all the great info! On an interesting note I was looking on “cruisemapper “ and when I looked up our cruise it shows the Venezia leaving and coming back to Cape Liberty Bayonne, NJ/NY. If that’s the case it looks like the Newark airport is right there. I will wait and see since the ship won’t even head over here until May. but being so close to NYC, how do I not spend a day in Times Square and Central Park…. Lol

Thanks for the input so far! We would rather stay somewhere comfortable, clean, but inexpensive. We are definitely not the thousands a night type of people! 😉 I guess grabbing a taxi to the ship would be the easiest option in the morning. We will probably take the ship shuttle back to the airport after the cruise. As for evening activities, probably nothing specific, just look around.

Never been to NYC, just booked a cruise. Cruising on the Carnival Venezia in October. We have cruised out of TX and FL, always fly the day before from Oregon. Is there more than one port, as I can’t seem to find a definitive answer by google. Which airport is best to fly in and out of? I checked JFK prices, not too bad. Best place to spend the night before the cruise? We can catch a flight about 4pm on the day we leave, so that should work out fine. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated! I’m a little overwhelmed about heading to the BIG CITY!

Thanks for the review. We will be on Feb 18. Looking forward to the trip. Got a SUPER deal, didn’t plan on a cruise, couldn’t pass it up. Have an excursion in Cabo as we’ve never been but just going to enjoy the ship in Maz and PV.

We finally tried NCL for our anniversary trip to alaska last year. Big ship, the Encore. The decor was nicer, food was definitely better. It was still early, so the ship was pretty vacant so that was nice. But I still like carnival. Took my GD on the Spirit in July (sale was too good to pass up) and had just as good of time. My complaint about NCL was their customer service dealing with excursions was HORRIBLE. Like, enough I swore I would never cruise with them again.

I would walk up to a server who was filling orders at the bar and ask them for a drink and they always helped me. Bartenders always said they weren’t allowed. It is a pain, but it is a free drink! I didn’t use that much the one time I had it.

I’ve been watching this itinerary, it’s basically the same in late April that year. Sure keep thinking about booking…. We were on the spirit in July for an 8 day, had a wonderful time. Also went in May on NCL. It was SO pretty all snowy. But loved seeing the animals in July. It’s hard to decide which would be better. 🙃

Yes, that is where it will be. Also, if you are going to Tracy arm, that excursion will be out of Seattle also and was the highlight of our trip. It gets you up close to the glacier.

Last cruise they asked me and my GD if we knew how to put on our life jacket. That was it.

I get casino offers, my husband doesn’t. I play the slots, usually $50 a night. I’ve come out ahead a few times. A couple times pretty well. My husband doesn’t play slots, but will play roulette, but doesn’t give them his card so no record. Cruising Panorama for free next month.

I’ve always emailed in for it, sent them copies of my E*Trade acct with acct number blacked out and the info they ask for, and have been approved that way.
