Did they really expect them to take US dollars? Would they expect a small care in the US to take British pounds or to take Euros?

Yes, he thought everywhere took US$.  They were upset and talked about it for a while at the dinner table that night.  It looked like that they were older couple and did not travel much.

  2. On my 2015 British Isle cruise, our dining table mates, an older couple was telling us while on an excursion they had stopped at a small cafe for a lunch.  He tried to pay in US$ and was told only £ cash.  The wife stayed at the cafe and the husband went to the post office to get the £ cash.

    Once Elite, elite forever.

But as far as Elite?  You're good, and doesn't expire.

    😎

You never know what Princess will take away from the Elite, don’t give an idea.

I do plan on pre booking before I go to London once I have my air and hotel arrangements done., and will be printing out my tickets.  I'm also planing on ordering Oyster cards for DH and myself. 😉  We're planning on visiting in September, and I told my TA that so far almost all of September is empty on our calendar, so she can book whatever looks good!

I purchased online and printed the places I wanted to see while in London and also had the Oyster card.  I only needed money for restaurants.

See if Buckingham Palace is open while you are there.

  5. I remember in August 2015, after going through the security machine like at the airports - belts off, empty pockets, bags, walk through, I checked my backpack (I think, they must have giving me some kind of ticket) and after exiting the Palace, down some stairs, one side had a small tent cafe and other side I picked up my backpack.  They had moved the bags from the entrance to the exit.

No bathrooms in the Palace for the public.  There are public bathrooms on the way out of the Palace grounds.

I "heard" that the dirty banana is one of the favorites.

I have the virgin dairy banana- 1/2 a banana, cream, chocolate sauce, ice in a bender.  It is like a chocolate milkshake.

  7. I have taken the 12 day and 8 day  BI,  both in August.  On the 12 day, I took an Oceanview cabin.  The 8 day, I booked an Oceanview and a week before was offered for $$$ got a balcony.

The balcony was nice, to see what the weather was like but a little cold to sit out even when docked.

On a sea day, we tried to sit out to watch the outdoor movie, after a 1/2 hour we left as we found it too cold to sit out.

You only have 2 sea days.

I would go with an Oceanview cabin.

  8. I have stayed 4x at Premier Inn Waterloo.  Hotel has A/C, bar, restaurant, entrance is street level, walking distance to Westminster Abbey, London Eye, Parliament, Thames River, Big Ben, Hop On Hop Off, 2 tube stations, Waterloo train station, regular bus, stores, restaurants, pubs, small grocery store.

I used Just Airports, a car service from Premier Inn Waterloo to Heathrow.

Our TA is awesome! The only Princess cruise we have booked where we are not dining in the Reserve Collection dining area is on the Aug 2026 Solar Eclipse cruise on the Sky where we have a family cruise booked for 10 guests in 4 cabins.

Since booking the early fixed seating option wasn’t available yet for that cruise, our TA was able to individually reserve a private table in the Soleil MDR for 10 at 5:30 pm each night on our 14 day cruise. Yay!!

BTW some of the 10 have never cruised with Princess. So the issue where only Platinum/Elite guests can make a reservation prior to paying for the cruise wasn’t a factor.

I was also able to book @ 5:30 each night in Soleil for the August 8, 2926 Solar cruise.

I call room service by 8am for elite tea set up the day before I want it. Comes around 3pm the following day. Was reasonable until summer 2023 but then got back to normal.  20230709_104707.thumb.jpg.ec4cd4a09b8adb87f2d3403b8437b909.jpg

I am Elite and have never ordered it before.

    Do you call room service?

Do you order day of or day before you want it ?

Do they ask what you want to eat?

Do they ask for how many?

    Is it always at 3pm?

Not for us. We like having an assigned table so we can just walk in after the first night. Also, we like the same wait staff so they can get to know our few little quirks.

We do the same, same table and wait staff each day plus I ask for no salt menu.

Our group have 12 people in total, guess I need to contact my agent to make arrangement, thank you!

You might have to have a couple of tables near each other.

I had a group of 16 on Celebrity.  We had 2 tables of 8 close to each other.  Each night we switched around between the 2 tables.

Anyone had luck to be able to book traditional dining for a big group?

    How big a group?

    Tables usually up to 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10

You will need all of their booking numbers to book together.

If a very big group maybe your agent can make arrangements with Princess.

I was on a cruise with 50 from dance group.  They had a whole section in  traditional, when the doors open they just walked in.

On another cruise, there was a huge West Point reunion group.  They had a sign at the entrance of traditional for them to line up.  They had a whole section for themselves.

For cruise Sept 26, 2024, Elite, paid in full

    I have tried -

the app - no content found or put in date/time then found no reservations

the website - add guests - I added their booking # - then goes blank

    What am I doing wrong?

I was finally after trying all day on app and website to be able to book my dining finally  on the app for Sept 26, 2024. I could not get a time 5:20, I wanted so I took  traditional for 5, I was not able to click “same table and time each day” so had book same time each day for 17 days,

For Nov 2025 and Aug 2026, I was able to book 5:30 “same table and time each day” for each cruise.
