I've read that other couples have only ordered 1 serving & split the meal thereby doubling the number of time they could eat there.

I asked at the check in desk at Alfredo’s on the Sky, he is the person that charges the credit to your account.  My friend had the salad, we shared a pizza (we each had 1/2 a pizza with the ingredients that we each wanted) and I had the desert.  We did that for a couple of times.

I am going solo in a balcony on Carib deck with 75 days to sailing.  Today, I received an email asking if I wanted to upgrade Bid.  I am not interested in Bidding.

Do you think they want my balcony cabin as there are only a few cabins left?

My sister has the cabin next to me, she did not receive the Bid Up email I received 2x.  You would think the Bid Up offer would be send to a cabin had has 2 passengers vs a cabin with 1.

Darcy, Have you used “Value Trips” when booking the Hyatt Place? Their rate is a little less then published rates, but other people have stated on this board that they use them all the time when booking the Hyatt Place.
I don’t know if the pricing they show on the site includes taxes and fees. I’m trying to find that out before I give them all my information and find out they are higher priced the published rates.
Do you have any experience with them.
    Thank you, Nancy

On Value Trips website only shows hotel price with no taxes added.  When you get your confirmation email it will show total price - hotel + taxes.

I have used them a few times with no problems.  I saved $90 from their direct hotel price on my last stay.  I called the hotel after receiving my confirmation email to confirm my booking.

The breakfast can be crowded in the morning.  You can sign up for $ shuttle to Port Everglades.  I believe there is a charge from airport to hotel, have to call and request pickup.

  4. I have the Standard fare.
I know if I order off the app I will be charged the $14.99 + 18% tip then I can order from the app as many times as I want.

Does the $14.99 cover Alfredo’s?  If so, can I go as many times as I want or 2 like the Plus?

I meant content. He sent a blank email.

I will tell a story about my grandpa during the WW2.  He had not received a letter from his son (my uncle) in the Canadian army.

He wrote - Dear son and left the rest of the page blank to end of the page- Love Dad.  His son wrote back asking what was wrong.

We are planning to book a Mediterranean cruise on Majestic Princess in March 2025. Having previously cruised on Cunard and Royal Caribbean, how is Princess compared to them? We would be staying in mini-suite category and will purchase the Princess Plus-package.

Another question regarding disembarkation in Civitavecchia, Italy. The ship is scheduled to dock at 0600AM. If we self-disembark and have a private transfer booked, can we take a 1050AM departing flight from FCO airport?

I had a choice of a 11am flight from Rome.  I decided to take a Princess post cruise excursion (disembarkment excursion) and stay overnight at the Hilton Airport which is attached to Rome (FCO) and take the same 11am flight the next day. After touring Rome, the excursion bus dropped people off at the Rome train station or the airport departure area.  We picked up luggage carts, took an elevator up to a covered walkway to an elevator down to the entrance of the Hilton Airport.  The next day we did the reverse to the airport for our flight.  Rome airport is big.

Why rush at the end of your cruise to try to make your flight, what happens if your ship is late coming in or there is traffic getting to the airport.

Another time, I used Rome Cabs, a private car service pre and post cruise.

English speaking drivers, clean cars, on time, replied to my emails on a timely matter.

March of 2025, in Palermo.  We were told that all of the restaurant changes will occur during the dry dock.  We will be on Dec 1st for 51-days and we will definitely find out what the dry dock changes will be by then.

I hope they don’t cancel or change my dining reservations for August 2025.

Thanks, we are going to do that next time, we both only ate 3 pieces

Tell them when you go in that you are only using 1 credit.

It is too much pizza for one person.  Most people left food on their plate.

We had to use our credits up so on our last causal credit at Alfredo’s, we ordered salad/soup, then shared one pizza and the veal ravioli (I think about 4 pieces) and each dessert.

We were hoping to visit in September and just have no idea what to do with our luggage. We are staying in London for the night and would feel like we would have to yo yo back and forth just to drop off our luggage.

Check out International Friends.  They go on embarkment  and disembarkment days.

Embarkment - Pick up at certain London and LHR hotels, stop at Stonehenge then dropped off at Southampton dock.

Disembarkment - Pick up at Southampton dock, stop at Salibury, Stonehenge, Windsor then dropped at the door of certain London and Heathrow hotels.

Purchase your tickets for Stonehenge and Windsor through them.  They also have others tours.

A great way to see another part of Britain on your way to London.

I have used them after my cruises from Southampton and Dover.

    4. Has anyone stayed at the Hyatt Place on 17th st. and booked it through Value Trips? What was your experience?

    .

    Nancy

I have used Value Trips a few times with no problem.  My last visit I saved $90 over booking direct with the hotel price.

The price you see on their site does not include taxes. A credit card is used to hold the booking.  They do have black out dates.  You will receive a confirmation email with your booking number, it will show the total hotel cost.  If you need to cancel/change your booking, you call direct to the hotel.

I always call after receiving the confirmation email, to make sure I am booked.

I have not used the shuttle from airport to hotel, there is a small charge.  At check in, if you want the $ shuttle to Port Everglades, sign up.  Taxi might be cheaper.

It can get busy in the morning on embarkment days for breakfast - buffet, scrambled eggs, sausage, bread, yogurt, tea/coffee/juice, enough to get you to the ship.

There are many restaurants around the hotel, grocery.

What happens with refundable OBC at the end of the cruise?

If under $25, go to Guest Services and get cash.

If more than $25, you will receive a US$ cheque in an envelope not from Princess so check that it is not junk mail.

Take a printed copy of your account home with you, can get a copy at Guest Services or the machine beside Guest Services.  You will receive a copy by email after you return home.

I can't compare the cruise lines.

But I will start out here and try to help.

You are cruising right before a major dry-dock, where they will certainly change the dining venues around, and there will no longer be a Harmony.  I am not sure if they might change these restaurants before the dry-dock??? or do it all at that time.

When is Majestic going into dry dock?

    Everyone gets the email.

I have not had an upgrade Bid Offer email  before.  Before when you paid for an upgrade, I had a couple.  I had a downgrade offer from balcony to inside for Feb 2024 cruise, I was too late to reply with no internet.

  14. I have been in August 2x, short sleeves, long pants.  One port, could have used shorts, it was hot.

When I went at the end of May 2022, rain, wore spring jackets the whole time.

You never know what the weather will be, do layers can always take off or add.

I remember for Alaska in August, I checked the weather channel the week before, it predicted rain and cold the whole week.  I brought heavy clothing.  It never rained and was hot.

What drinks can you get in the main dining room for free other than water and tea/coffee?

Unsweetened ice tea, milk, water, tea, coffee free in dining room.

In the buffet, can get free lemonade, unsweetened ice tea, coffee, water, milk, in the morning juice.  I don’t know if you can get lemonade in dining room.  In the morning, can get juice in the dining room, I don’t know if you can get juice in the evening.
