  1. It's still listed on their website, so I'm guessing yes. I could be wrong, though. 2. I'm glad to see Pickleball is being offered more frequently on ships. One of these days, I'm gonna try to learn and play this game. It looks like a lot of fun at an athletic level that my wimpy and uncoordinated self might be able to handle.☺️
  3. Yes, you are able to bring sealed cans of non-alcoholic beverages onboard from ports of call as well.
  4. I recommend (thanks to what I've heard here on CC) you bring a printout of Carnival's rules (quoted by weezal above) along with your boarding passes for both cruises. This worked for me (although they were not at all accustomed to B2Bs on Elation🤣); and they did not hold my second-leg bottles, but allowed me to take all of them onboard for my first leg.
  5. I realize that some are removing tips. But so often on these boards I come across these assumptions that 'all those people in line are complaining and/or removing tips'. I see it in reviews, I see it in various threads, and it irritates me. As I am standing in line at GS for a non-complaining, non-tip-removing reason, I am being judged a tip-remover by all the ignorant, judgmental people that enjoy feeling superior to me based on their incorrect and ignorant assumptions. And that sucks. But then, some people will always need to find reasons to feel superior to others, so I guess my I'm wasting my breath here.
  6. I have spent time in the GS line on every one of my cruises over the last 18 years of cruising. And I have NEVER reduced nor removed my gratuities. Several times, in fact, I have been standing in that line to INCREASE my gratuities. (How many of you judgmental people have done that?) There are so many reasons someone can need the assistance of GS. So, please, people, will you withhold your judgement on your fellow PAX standing in the GS line? All this jumping to assumptions and negative judgments about others makes you appear to be ignorant jerks.
  7. No. ETA: The corkage fee is a fee that is (sometimes) charged when you bring your own bottle, not purchased onboard, to public venues such as the MDR or the Steakhouse.
  8. Do you have a PVP? If so, call him/her and ask to get email offers. They will start flooding your inbox practically daily.
  9. On our B2B in January 2020 on Elation we got the fruit basket but no bottle of wine.
  10. It's not a choice of "letting it" affect you. Rude behaviour affects people. That's why it's called rude. It's what the word means. Yeah, all those rude people are also "too busy having fun" on their cruises to be concerned with how their behaviour is affecting others.😏
  11. I have been shaking my head over this statement since yesterday, and I was going to ignore it and let it go, but you seem to be doubling down with this now: ...and so my resolve to be silent has failed. By its very definition, rude behaviour affects people: rude adjective 1. offensively impolite or ill-mannered. of·fen·sive adjective 1. causing someone to feel deeply hurt, upset, or angry. Perhaps, if one isn't at all affected by rudeness of others, they are inured to it. Perhaps because they are habitually rude themselves. Reminds me of a saying something like, "If you can't tell who the jerk in the room is, the jerk might be you."😉
  12. Congratulations to you on your doctorate and felicitations to your sister on her wedding! Have you talked to anyone in the Wedding Department at Carnival? "Call 1-800-933-4968 or email us at weddings@carnival.com to speak to a wedding planner." Maybe there is something they can do to provide a bare bones, "econo" version of the wedding package? They may be willing to work with you. Good luck!🙂
  13. I don't know if this is something you might want to do or if your kids would be into it, but when mine were little like yours (they're 20 and 16 now😁), a couple weeks before a cruise I would take them to the dollar store, give them a spending limit, and allow them to pick out anything they wanted in the way of toys, games, craft supplies, and activities for the cruise. They each had a kid-sized messenger bag that all of their cruise toys/entertainment had to fit into and they each had to carry these bags on board (this kept them from wanting to pack their rock collections😉🤣). They were not allowed to open or play with their new dollar store cruise toys until we were in the car on the way to the port. This built up anticipation for the cruise and kept them from losing interest in the new toys before sailing. And being cheap stuff, if they lost an item or two onboard, no great loss. They also took their Barbies and a few toys from home, and played next to us quietly with them a lot while we played trivia, etc.
  14. I just realized you said you kids are 6 and 4. So they might be a little young for some of the activities I mentioned. Sorry.☺️
  15. Partaking of local cuisine in the Ports of Call is an enjoyable aspect of cruising.
  16. From Carnival's website: Bringing Liquor and Beverages On Board - Embarkation Guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages that are packaged in glass or plastic bottles. On embarkation day, a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk), packaged in cans or cartons, may be brought on board and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12-ounces/354-ml each or less, per person. Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception - at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne, per person, in their carry-on luggage. Outside this exception, all liquor, beer, other forms of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in both carry-on and checked luggage and such items will be confiscated and discarded and no compensation will be provided. Guests sailing with us on back-to-back cruises are entitled to bring the same quantity as stated in this policy, per cruise. The additional quantities will be stored for safekeeping at the start of the first cruise and will be given to the guest as each following cruise begins. Corkage Fee Should guests wish to consume their wine or champagne in the main dining room, specialty restaurant or bar, a $15.00 USD corkage fee, per 750-ml bottle, will be charged. A corkage fee is a charge that is assessed, at time of service, for every bottle that is served and not bought on the premises. Bottled Water For convenience, guests can purchase bottled water prior to the cruise and it will be delivered to the stateroom on embarkation day. Bottled water may also be purchased on board by contacting room service. Once on board, the purchase is non-refundable and guests may take home any unopened bottles. To ensure we have an ample supply, please visit The Fun Shops™ at www.carnival.com/funshops to place your order before your cruise. $9.95 USD (plus an 18% delivery fee) for a 12-pack of bottled water (16.9-ounce bottle/500-ml bottle) $3.95 USD (plus an 18% delivery fee) for 1 large bottled water (50.72-ounce bottle/1.5-liter bottle) $20.00 USD (plus an 18% delivery fee) for 8-pack of bottled water (50.72-ounce bottle/1.5-liter bottle)
  17. Pretty much what I was going to say. I'll never cruise in an Interior without windows. Ever. Even for free. Also, I prefer to be all the way forward or all the way aft, so that would not be a deterrent for booking that particular Porthole cabin for me. So, I guess my opinion on this isn't helpful, since it's absolutely no contest for me.🤭 OP, have fun choosing and have a great cruise in whichever cabin you choose!🙂
  18. I carry on a copy, too.☺️ No, no, don't give in! Resist the modern technological world! Luddites Unite!😁
  19. Am I the only one who still snail mails this?😳 Anyway, still a fast turn-around time. About a week and a half. But then, most of that time was spent on the letter going from me in Maryland to them in Miami.🤪
  20. Each time we have gotten The Private Oasis, each couple has tipped individually. We didn't discuss with the others how much they tipped, that's personal and none of our business, however, DH and I tipped our bartender, serving/cooking staff, and cleaning staff enough that even if we were the only ones tipping them that day (which we definitely weren't), they would each feel appreciated and thanked. The time that we got the Private Oasis just for our family (price not split with others, I paid for the whole thing and it was just the four of us), I paid each of the staff a much higher gratuity then when I was part of a group because this was their only gratuity of the day. And although they didn't have to work much for four guests (several of them said it's the best gig on the island and more like a vacation than work when the group is small like ours), I wanted to show my appreciation adequately. Your group is going to be rather large, so they will be working hard for you. And, yeah, I agree that it being a nude cruise, you should probably be a little extra generous with the tips.
