  1. Note for folks that the App appearance has changed. This guy would put me to sleep if I had just had six Cokes or coffees. LOL.
  2. Princess is setup to use same Userid and Pswd for both the App and Princess.com. No one should be attempting to have different Id and Pswd.
  3. Welcome to Princess. Believe it. The Princess Medallion App has several design flaws and programming bugs, some persisting for 2 yrs now. Just put in a different CC and then change it at check-in if you prefer the one card.
  4. Not a problem. Either a TA or Princess can do it. There is at least one signiifcant thread on this forum about AARP Reward Princess gift cards.
  5. No, I meant Caribbean sector in response to the post about X doing it. They did a whole long series of 3/4 nighters.
  6. Just don't wear shorts and a t-shirt to dinner. Long pants and a collared shirt and you are good. I tend to wear LS shirt on a formal night or perhaps when go to Specialty Dining (SD). SD is always Smart Casual. Smart Casual is fine any night if not wanting more formal. PCL has gone flexible to welcome those who dress up and those who don't. All shows and entertainment venues are free and no sign up required. You are bot supposed to be able to use DineMyWay (DMW) until after final payment as a newbie, but more than one poster here has reported being able to make MDR reservations. You can always try it out in the App or Web version, but this is flaky software and unpredictable if will work.
  7. I wish you had included my full post as I didn't make the extracted statement myself. It came from an old article on Medallion technology.
  8. PCL tried that some years back. All it did was balloon the Elite ranks. LOL.
  9. They could have added an OTHER option with an open text box and guest could just type in their drink order. But if the whole published menu isn't in the App, it devalues the benefit IMO.
  10. Although we know rule #3 (approx) of marketing is never advertise a negative.
  11. So, it makes me ask if DMW was setup with 5pm, 5:20pm, 5:40pm, etc pre-cruise for the Sky voyage(s) indicated. And, if so, what did they tell the folks with res prior to 5:30 and did that back-up everyone for most of the evening? First world problem, right?
  12. First formal night? When? I am sure this happens. I don't know how often and if certain ships are chronic cases. From a photo I cannot tell if the folks are walk-ups or with a res.
  13. All I can say is that I and others posting in this Forum have had success. A. I know what you are saying, but PCL did communicate the dining times to align with production shows and was similar to the old schedule. Not everyone goes to theater and some go to other shows. At least experienced guests know the typical show times. B. You are correct. It is up to guests... all strangers... to see if can form a permanent group on Night 1 and then ask for a set table. Thing is, no guarantee either that everyone in your initial group is interested in staying together or even if the timing suits them on other nights. This would have to go back to the DRO to do manually ahead of sail date. C. Unfortunately it seems that way on at least some ships. It is bad mgmt IMO to fill DR with walk-ups so they do not wait while ignoring those who will show up soon with a res. I wonder if they had too many no shows and decided to start filling tables regardless on some ships. D. We did just walk to our table last Fall on two different ships. Even if the specific table you start at is not available, they ought to have another one. PCL promises the TD experience and I guess we need to nicely and firmly work with DR mgmt to get it. It should be better. It could be better. I know PCL did a poor job with DMW and they seem to be living with it. I would say some ships are doing a better job than others. I also read more success posts than one like yours. Hope it works better for you next voyage.
  14. Yes, those 20 minute intervals are what I saw late 2022 and began at 5pm. I know there were ships supposedly not starting dinner service until 5:30pm, but DMW had allowed 5pm and 5:20pm res. No idea how that was sorted out, except I seem to recall one DR did start at 5pm. This is not current info. Wish I knew more current details but I also think different ways on different ships.
  15. I know there are always going to be exception circumstances. It seems they filled the DR with walk ups and stiffed the ones with res by not holding tables. BTW, 6:30 did not used to be a valid res time. Did they start at 5:30 or 5? Doesn't matter if you know.
  16. It is quite possible. It's been a long time, so I don't recall all of the details from back then (pre-Covid). This is an operative paragraph: One of the key benefits for guests starts before they even board the ship. Using the OceanReady digital experience, MedallionClass guests can complete 95 percent of boarding steps on mobile devices before arrival. This reduces wait time by more than 90 percent, shortening to about 30-60 seconds a process that used to take 15-20 minutes. I don't recall check-in taking anything like 15-20 minutes pre-Medallion. Even if they were involved, it seems to have been almost an after-thought compared to the rest of it (infrastructure and on-board experience). Who knows who managed what at this point - and it doesn't really matter anymore, does it now? Thanks.
  17. A GTY cabin means you have booked into a category and are guaranteed to have a cabin to sail in that is at least in that category (or anything higher). Princess will eventually assign you a cabin. Could be anything from several days later to a couple of days or so prior to the voyage. If the guest selects a cabin when booking (as opposed to a GTY booking), then the guest is close to assurance of being in that cabin. But Princess can move a guest (to nothing worse) without notice or grant an upgrade. Guests can best protect themselves by having their selected cabin marked as "No Upgrade".
  18. I am not so sure we know the scope of the Accenture engagement. Perhaps they were mostly involved with the Medallion tech itself, connectivity to ship database and intranet and the ability to unlock cabin doors and interface with ship-board systems for checking guests on/off the ship, identifying guests for orders/billing, etc. Does anyone know for certain that Accenture was involved in the pre-cruise Ocean Ready and DMW? It's really neither here-nor-there as some people are saying they are long gone from PCL now. Bottom line is the whole thing lays at JP's feet. The concept and ideas were great but the design and development/implementation were less than optimal (being kind) and near abysmal at first (being real).
  19. Usually max is 9:30-ish. They really want you off not long after 9am.
  20. I know, but part of an implementation or change like this is to make sure the website pages reflect the new reality. I am not convinced they will get to them all for many months. At the risk of opening an old wound (and I was happy with the change), I cannot tell you how long after MedallionNet came to be sold by the day that the website indicated Platinum/Elite got free minutes when you opened up certain documentation. Bottom line - it's just sloppy business.
  21. Sure, but offering even two different pizza sizes might be a great thing to do. Complicates the kitchen I suppose, but pretty cool for a group so you would have individual size and family size, so to speak.
  22. You have a point in that Plus and Premier include everything in Standard, plus additional perks and benefits. That said, Princess never listed free Ocean Now, free RS, free casual dining in the package contents list. So, he has a weaselly exit, but it just becomes a futile argument because these list of package inclusions is not the final word.
  23. I doubt it. I certainly have not seen this as a major issue when dipping into some "live from" reports.
