  1. At the launch announcement of the new BP screen, there was nothing said about only some guests getting it. It was just whether Green or Blue. (Not sure why they didn't have a Gray option since they are having a Gray lane for guests with special needs or extra assistance).
  2. That should not be necessary at all. The ship record for the guest will have that information and the Medallion should be the correct color.
  3. At that time, the terminal will be so empty you may wonder if the ship left already.
  4. IDK why the 15 drink with alcohol limit keeps coming up in the context of value. It seems like some folks believe you need to consume that many to get value from the package.
  5. I have seen this mentioned more than once. I also seem to recall Viking telling me this the one time I phoned them about a cruise in China (not interested in going to China these days). My question is, do they have a cancellation policy where you can get all or most funds back by some date prior to sail date. (I know I could look this up and am a proponent of people self-helping, but thinking you may know it off the top of your head - thanks).
  6. I will BYOB at restaurants at home. Thing is there are very few doing it around here for a reasonable price. So, we order by the glass or bottle.
  7. Which ship is this? A newer Royal Class? There are too many cabanas IMO. And the front is all taken up with a hot tub and lounges.
  8. LOL. If I boarded a ship at 11am, I would consider myself slowing down if I was not presenting myself at the Sanctuary desk less than five minutes later.
  9. I have seen these reports before (medical evac by helicopter). I don't understand why noses are out of joint if someone reported a helicopter evac or took a photo of a hovering helicopter and a rescue coast guard person. It is not invading anyone's privacy if there is no guest or crew member shown. Now, I don't really care about knowing it happened one way or the other as these evac's do occur from time to time. But, I'd hardly call it invading someone's privacy presuming there is no information as to the patient's identity. PS - I realize the OP was making additional inquiry and understand reaction to that. And to extend benefit of doubt, the OP may have been thinking of some sort of operational accident since the information they had was inconclusive from the friend as to the nature of the assistance.
  10. Google Carnival Corporation Shareholder Benefit. You will find a PDF to download which describes the program benefit. There is no form to fill out. You can supply the required information in an email.
  11. Not using the App. All you can do is request a Sharing table, which could be any size (most likely 6 or 8). Table Size is not an option. However, you are in luck because the App cannot and does not keep a Sharing table group of random guests together for the entire voyage. Not only that, it doesn't block you into the same table each night. If you are happy sharing with random folks and in random locations, go ahead and book in DMW. You can also be a Walk-Up and get the same thing. An advantage of this option is you can request an 8-top each night which you won't necessarily get in DMW App. Enjoy!
  12. Not true at all. Standard fare will also have a BP screen. Green Lane or Blue Lane as appropriate. Note that none of us here know whether Princess is removing the paid shipping option permanently (doesn't make sense), or whether it is some other system issue (makes more sense, given their many foibles). It may also have something to do with them readying shipping to other major markets and sub-markets (Canada, UK, Australia/NZ).
  13. My friend, Tony, always used to say his wife had the OBC spent while he was filling out the old health questionnaire form.
  14. Yes, but the conspiracy mind might be thinking Princess is cancelling out paid reservations in order to fulfill as many as possible on the packages or they will have hell to pay when tons of guests cannot get their paid-for package benefits. I am starting to see making a SD reservation taking over for top spot upon embarkation and Sanctuary falling to second. Is that even possible/conceivable for a Caribbean cruise???!!
  15. Try just under 4.5 years of Alfredo's on that ship. 🙃
  16. Right. I don't like to pay full fare for my Princess cruises and book with a US TA. I can also see all my credits and such in the Cruise Personalizer. So, it is there even if not booking directly.
  17. I think several of you affected Aussies need to make some "thunder from down under" and contact PCL HQ in California (can you spring for an overseas phone call as well?) and ask them about this and why isn't the Australian division conducting things like the US - or as they did before? IDK about this, but is Princess Australia that independent from the Mother Ship in USA? Hard to believe there isn't a workaround as the people in charge in Sydney ought to darn well know if the practice in your country is to only provide quarterly statements with no online access??? (Is this for real in 2023???).
  18. LOL. Yes you can. I think this was yet another one of PCL's ideas back during Covid when a lot of the development work for the Princess Medallion App was underway. Just go to whatever interests you and don't even think about it. You might want to get to the main theater production shows in good time if you are picky about seat location.
  19. Right. I don't even worry anymore about what the rest of the ship is doing. I am comfortable with smart casual every night (although I will do LS Shirt on a FN). And I am comfortable if the couple at the next table is a tux & gown pair.
  20. If I was into that scene, I'd be wearing it the second night too. Otherwise, what was the point of bringing the fancier duds? Makes me wonder if the ones dialing it back for night two are planning on going that way on the next cruise vacation. Could partially explain how the trend has been changing over the past decade.
  21. Did you mean the Enchanted, because the EP is the Emerald Princess.
  22. Agreed. But there is a whole new design and folks should be seeing them now since it was supposedly an August 1 launch. Maybe they plan to use them if presented. Of course when a guest has Medallion, they can just scan those.
  23. I know it shouldn't happen this way (illegal in fact), but sometimes I wonder if the C-level execs have a monthly telecon and draw straws for which cruise line is going to make the next increase, and the rest will follow. I could say that about airlines, hotels, etc.
  24. You don't need to go anywhere. The boarding pass page (with QR code) only appears about 11 days prior to sail date.
  25. It is easy to monitor for SOBC or MOBC to be posted as you just need to check for Onboard Credits in the Payments section of the Cruise Personalizer, or check the Travel Summary. I don't get an email notice of applied SOBC, and I don't think my TA does either. They do get an alert when account dollars changes and then forward an email. I don't recall getting a notice when SOBC applied. But I might be wrong. IDC anyway as I just check it myself.
