  1. Actually what happens is a guest can play in the casino by charging playing chips or slot money to the cabin account. At this time, PCL settles all cabin account debts by using up OBC and then charging any balance owing to credit card on file. You are not directly using OBC. PCL could change their accounting software to not apply OBC to casino charges if they decide to make a change. The official written policy is OBC cannot be used in the casino.
  2. Book the voyage you want as soon as you know you want it and monitor for price drops.
  3. I believe in the past, those have typically been available earlier in the year. I also believe agencies have a set number of them and once allotted to their client bookings,, the well is dry until the next year.
  4. You are missing my point, I believe. The Plus package is not financially viable for us either - in either currency. That is not the point as it is truly an individual analysis and decision. My point was that on board spending is in USD (outside of Australia) and any evaluation of whether to purchase the cruise package on top of Standard ought to be done in ship's currency of USD. Booked in CAD is irrelevant - unless you happened to score a booking when PCL had CAD pricing at par to USD. In that case, folks were paying $44 - $45 USD for the Plus and, after substracting out $16 + $7.50, it leaves a little over $20 US that someone could a lot more easily meet the economic sense threshold to purchase. If you want to work in CAD, it is more work as you have to look at whatever beverages you might consume on board and convert them all to CAD. PS - Where did you get the $81 USD from? PS - I always have to laugh when someone posts about locking their phone in the safe like it is a ritual. Sometimes I imagine the guest rushing to their cabin to get the phone locked up while other guests rush to book Sanctuary or Chef's Table.
  5. That figure was supposed to be the CAD equivalent of $60 USD. It is using PCL's current exchange rate of 1.35m but folks can do a little better these days if they have their own source of USD and a USD credit card. I believe the poster was confused in some way. That said, I have no doubt at all that a subset of cruisers on Princess who pay $60 now for Plus would find value if they had to pay $80.
  6. IMO, the exchange rate argument is irrelevant. If a guest is going to consume onboard Medallion Net and sufficient beverages (presuming they pay Crew Appreciation as well), those expenses are all in USD and the Cruise Fare option is $60 USD. It always comes down to what the guests are going to consume and spend a la carte versus the package add-on.
  7. GC money is yours, so GC money on account is Refundable OBC. You would get it back via the normal refund process unless invested in the gambling den. I am thinking you would receive a check several weeks later and it won't go back to the GC.
  8. Yeah, I'd be similarly ahead booking that voyage with either TA I have most recently used if I was booking the PLUS - which I don't. IB? Or IC at least?
  9. Why didn't you contact them and ask for yourself? Just a phone call away.
  10. I would add for the OP's benefit (they ought to study the deck plans on Princess.com) that the new DR design on Sun Class ships is technically a single DR, but spans three levels. Obviously, it has to have the passenger capacity of Royal Class separate DR's - and then some for likely additional passengers. We don't know how they will utilize the three levels, but I would expect they will organize walk-ups to be directed to a certain entrance and those with reservations and pre-arranged TD-style seating to be on other levels or areas.
  11. You are new to Princess. Therefore, if you intend to purchase internet service (Medallion Net), it will cost you $15/day for a single device. You might get one package and share the login, or both get it. Crew Appreciation is $16/pp/day. Assuming you want the internet, you have $31/pp/day there and if you added on the Zero Alcohol package for $30 (plus another 18%), you are well over $60/pp/day. Toss away the internet - or at least for one of you - and you still come reasonably close to $60/day. My point is that if any guest is considering the Zero Alcohol package and might actually enjoy some wine or a cocktail once in a while, you may as well book the Plus Cruise Fare option ($60/pp/day) and either save money, or only need the occasional libation to justify the choice.
  12. Book it soon after you board and you can cover the cost with OBC.
  13. I should have added earlier that one might not expect a fast pace at Alfredo's when busy as they are going to prepare and cook the pizzas in order.
  14. Agree with you. I avoid them like the plague.
  15. Your answer matches what I would have said - refunds go back to the original form of payment, so hang onto the GC details until they are the voyage used on is completed and you are back home.
  16. Just start at the main menu for DMW and go in like booking a new single night reservation. You can also try it on the web version.
  17. I don't think anyone looks at that attribute in the App. No order ahead features. If you want a speedy service, best to let your waiter know. Some of them may be better than others at delivering on that.
  18. TA's get nothing from airline bookings. I suppose if a client brought a lot of business to the TA otherwise, they might "work hard", but why expect it when they get nothing for it?
  19. Going to be limited choices from Quebec City to Toronto. UA supposedly has direct to EWR and AA to ORD< but the timings may not be good for you. Airlines are making lot of schedule changes these days. Hope you come up with something decent and EZ-Air should be changing airlines if the original airline doesn't work. Do they want to pay to keep you overnight as well?
  20. Two things: There was no reason to tell the TA where you purchased the PCL GC's. The ones purchased from AARP are the same as ones purchased from Princess. If an agency accepts GC's (and no logical reason not to), then there should be no issue.
  21. My cards used in 2022 to partially pay for our Fall 2022 voyages were purchased a long time back from Princess website link (so directly) when they used to have Mother's Day, etc promotions. They all began with the same 8 digits you mentioned. AARP is selling the same PCL gift cards. A TA isn't going to know the source of provider.
  22. I would have insisted (or at least given it a strong effort) on restore of original flight because 7 minutes is immaterial with the generous time allowance setup by PCL.
  23. Corkage fee is a charge on the ship and therefore it goes to your on board account. Anything on the on board account is "paid" for by consuming your OBC before charging any remaining balance due to your credit card on file at the end of the voyage.
  24. Most certainly, but once again, they aren't testing a broad set of scenarios it seems. I have to wonder who is managing these putzes and allowing the shoddy work? Hard to believe someone with any sort of strong IT background.
