  1. Our discount benefit applies whether purchasing in advance or on board. A nice advantage is that the new pricing levels are the same pre-cruise as on board, so we no longer have to worry about paying extra if wait until aboard the ship.
  2. You can keep the medallion after you clock off the ship. IMO, they ought to have a recycle disposal bin at the gangway for those who don't want to keep them.
  3. if you have booked a Suite or a Reserve Mini, or are Captain's Circle Platinum or Elite, you can ignore any boarding groups/times and show up at your convenience - regardless of any checking of same.
  4. The Island and Coral pullmans in Inside cabins are stored in the ceiling. This is unique as Grand Class and Royal Class have them hanging on the walls. I cannot speak to Diamond and Sapphire without investigating.
  5. Exactly. How are Jonathan and Julianne McGillicutty supposed to know whose is whose when only the J is embossed?
  6. Yes, we do get a discount on a single day purchase as well.... if qualify of course as Platinum or Elite.
  7. It's just a tall order to try and inform someone of 14 yrs worth of changes. It won’t surprise you to learn all prices are higher.
  8. That is an unfair question to ask IMO. The friendly crew and great service has not changed, but 2009 is long time ago in the cruising world. Have you looked around Princess.com? They will tell you a lot about cruising today and also benefits are listed under Captain Circle section.
  9. Okay, but you could have been clearer in your post because the person you responded to was talking about their booking with Princess. It is quite possible that a travel agency would not advertise the Princess Standard rate because they want to sell packages. However, they can book Standard if their client requests. The agencies I look at show all fares on their booking pages.
  10. Yes good idea. If I was to go Santorini agsi, I'd just head right for Oia by water. Avoid the donkeys.
  11. Thanks for catching that. I did not check the date and had followed the other link up above. It almost read like more details on Jan regarding the re-org. Good catch. Yes, I get it from the original article. I guess time will tell. Seems like she has been given some things that seem to suit her and her background. I like the concept of attempting to make each brand line more nimble and in control of their operations as was outlined. I just hope they are able to execute across the brands and get that stock value back up.
  12. I just knew someone would have that line before I saw the posts. Either this or the other way around with wife mentioning hubby.
  13. If we catch you VPN'ing in from North America, your booking will be cancelled and deposit forfeited. 😁
  14. 10 from the parking lot. I have been to SFMM two or three times a LONG time ago. Not sure I would venture there again today considering other options. I suppose if I wanted to ride some of the coasters.... I liked a lot of the old coasters they had many moons back.
  15. Works for you then. I did forget to add that there are credit cards that don't add the currency conversion surcharge when using them for non-CAD transactions. Most useful for international travel.
  16. Yes, quite annoying. They were doing same thing in 2019. I cannot recall for certain, but I *think* they may have converted at the corporate rate in effect some time back, but not certain. Do you know @PescadoAmarillo? I cannot answer about the gift card in USD and cashing it in at GS on the ship. I'd be suspicious about getting an exchange rate. I'd want it in writing from PCL if they do that. What they might do is exchange it at the same rate as if you went to GS and handed them a $100 US bill and asked for AUD in exchange. That is going to be a terrible rate for sure and would not make sense. You would be better to buy AUD from a bank and then deposit it into your on board account.
  17. If you go, would you mind dropping one of these books off for the IT Department? ETA: Tagging @Thrak in case you don't see it as I am sure you will have a good laugh.
  18. I had this situation once a long time ago when I was switching to booking with US agency. I recall having CAD FCD's. I am not sure how it was done for us, but it was done somehow. I think what PCL did (and it may have been a Customer Relations action at the time) was refund me the two CAD FCD's we had at the time and then billed my USD credit card $200 US in order to purchase USD FCD's. So, it was like a swap, but they could not just make the CAD FCD's USD FCD's (which makes sense). In effect, it was a conversion done by refunding back $200 CAD and charging me $200 USD. The new FCD's were added to our CC Member profiles. So, it was like being able to buy a FCD off a ship, but allowed since we already owned the CAD FCD's. I have no idea if CR Dept would still do such a thing, but you lose nothing by asking. Needless to say, ever since then, I bought all our FCD's in USD and I also started buying more than one each when I realized later we might be booking more than one voyage before sailing the next one.
  19. Most US agencies do not register with PCL (or other lines as well I suppose) in both USD and CAD currencies. I was informed some years back that an agency wishing to offer both currencies needs to be "double-registered" with PCL - one as the CAD agency and one as the USD agency. At the time, the information was that this was too much of an accounting pain and they were also affected with a split sales volume as PCL was not combining them and treating them like two different agencies.
  20. You still might get "stuck" with one as a left-over. I just decided many years ago to stick with USD cruise bookings because I save a lot of money using US agents that discount the cruise fare and that just doesn't happen in Canada.
  21. There are other ways to use the USD gift cards. OBC is one and then pay for things. Also, not sure why a cruise booked in USD would hurt - as long as you have USD bank account and credit card.
  22. Reads like Princess IT (The Gang That Can't Shoot Straight) was attempting to label Plus packages as to their origin and once again has corrupted data. SMH.
  23. IMO, your booking should be reinstated to your original BA GTY and at your original price with no balance owing (or they refund you back the $1,100 upgrade you did not agree to if you already paid that). Just because some agent pushed a situation, doesn't mean you had to accept it. I'd be after Guest Relations about it since you seem to have been stonewalled. Perhaps you will get some nice treatment back out of that. This is the first time I have heard of a guest being assigned a cabin that was lower (let alone much lower) in Category than their GTY booking. You booked a BA and should never have been assigned a BD (nor BC, nor BB for that matter). You paid extra money for the BA Category. Who knows - they might decide to put you in a Deluxe Balcony. But be aware that Princess will consider the lowest far fwd Deluxe (say DF or DE) to be higher than the BA.
  24. If PCL is offering cruises in CAD at par with USD, then it will include Plus and Premier since those are cruise fare add-ons.
  25. Your welcome Events Listing (formerly Princess Patter) will indicate the full voyage schedule with formal nights.
