  1. In my experience, the EZ-Air interface in Cruise Personalizer does not auto-assign seats. Some more information would be helpful. Like what class did you book? It appears you booked a codeshare with Lufthansa on United equipment. (Was this much cheaper than just booking United option?). Seat selection should be done with the operating airline - which appears to be UA from your post. You didn't explain how you made the EZ-Air booking (and class of service goes into this as well). Depending on the airline situation, you can sometimes do seat selection right when booking the tickets using EZ-Air. Sometimes, you have to wait until flight is actually ticketed in order to do seat selection. What does UA website show you today for your seats? I'd check with UA as to what they have on record. Make sure your profile with UA is linked to the booking, etc. If the pricing is similar, I'd cancel the LH flight and book the UA flight number so that you don't have a codeshare situation. ETA: Once you have a clear situation with UA, you can call LH and give them their file locator and ask them to remove the "bad" seats as you have seats blocked with UA. You don't want LH sending their selection to UA and over-riding what you booked with UA. (Sometimes the same file locator is used by two airlines - the codeshare and the operating - and sometimes there are two separate codes).
  2. Honestly, I was going to say you are going receive a lot of judgmental posts in this thread because it happens every time this type of question is asked. And I see that is already true. You did not mention the port and so forth, but you can politely ask and see what the answer is. In my experience reading on this forum, the answer is almost universally YES and not a problem. Sometimes, the other party may be more elderly parents or family members or good friends who are not yet Elite. It's not like guests are randomly picking up folks and moving them along with them. I think, in fairness to the privilege at least, each Elite guest should only be bringing one other along (so one other couple and not a group for example). I come to this as it makes sense to me and it has always been my understanding that an Elite member can take one other non-Elite guest for priority tendering (water shuttling?) as a matter of policy/practice, so I would apply the same to check-in. As mentioned above, this whole check-in thing is really only meaningful if you and friends have arrived at the terminal and are checked in prior to commencement of boarding. This is because the Suites and Elites are called first to board from the waiting area. Once boarding has begun, the terminal clears fairly quickly and then arriving guests just check-in and head directly onto the ship. There are always Princess employees from the ship in the terminal, but the non-employees are often long-term workers with Princess and they know the ropes (particularly in North America).
  3. To clarify, the per diem rate for MedallionNet is $15/day for single device as you were charged. The other rate is a single day rate, which seems to be charged on a 1-off basis and not in the case of several days in a row such as the final three of the voyage. (I would distinguish between the "per diem" rate and the "single day" rate when discussing MedallionNet fees).
  4. It's a decent deal and convenient to get the 12-pack. We then re-use the bottles some before discarding, so a combination of both practices can work well.
  5. Booking references are always 6-character, alphanumeric codes. An airline ticket number is all numeric with the first three digits reflecting the airline's code number, followed by 10 additional numbers.
  6. Call them again. Rinse and repeat until you are ticketed. Ask them why you are not ticketed yet. Inexcusable IMO. But the suggestions above are bang on 100% to proactively request early ticketing next time. ETA: I just caught up to the post where you report now being ticketed. Great.
  7. No changes, but here is a photo board from the Regal that I scooped from a "Live From" thread:
  8. You need to check into the airline involved. Bag check is not necessarily included, although international travel normally includes one bag. EZ-Air is not selling the very lowest category in Economy (basic fares). ETA: If you shop the airline and they have a basic, no frills fare where nothing is included and another level of economy (like what we used to know as economy) that has more inclusions, then expect that to be the one EZ-Air has been selling.
  9. Can you do a photo shoot of the officers board for posting on the Princess thread sticky for officers? I suspect Nicola Furlan will be off again by now and not the current DRO.
  10. I'd be calling the F&B Mgr on that. It is "always" been the policy we can swap like for like or all for non-alcohol. First hearing of this one. I'd be wanting to learn the source of such a denial.
  11. Folks, this is Aussie rules and not same as N.A. market.
  12. When you stated your preference, why didn't you have the rep tell you what he had in mind and then check it real-time against the deck plan?
  13. Only the lead-in's are Non-Ref. Guests can elect GTY option in almost any cabin category, but if you are booking a BA (for example) and elect GTY, the deposit is Refundable.
  14. Yes, that is a good general approach. You should also have great success if dining at or after 8pm in being accommodated to same table.
  15. No, you should have had visits from the staff there - unless you looked visibly asleep. Interesting you want sun and that class of ship certainly has a wide open full sun area to left and right out near the entrance. Was never as much in demand as inside in the shade. That class of ship offers best shade of any in fleet, certainly more than Royal Class. For shade lovers, CB, KP, EP, RU and likely AP are the best IMO.
  16. What I would like to hear/read is if they have restored the quality of beef at least back to what it was pre-Covid. IMO, the cuts of beef used, particularly in premium SD areas, is not at all up to what it was before. Our experience on Regal was not good in terms of production quality either, but this was not the past 2-3 months and I may be perceiving and improvement. In the same time period (Oct-Nov), the Island was far superior in food prep. I put it down to exec chef and galley mgmt.
  17. Could care less about the pins. Threw mine away. IMO, it's like flashing the black card around. Pin never got me anything.
  18. Princess is not going to be publishing their internal compensation policies. It is only going to be a situation where a crew member tells a guest they know or whatever. Higher up in the thread it was stated that JP made a comment indicating the situation. If that is found, then fine. Otherwise, second hand is all we have to go on.
  19. You need to sue the Princess App in order to complete registration and check-in information. If you have issues with using smartphone (or device), there is a web version of the App which you can link to from the Cruise Personalizer (still requires a second login or use Name, Booking Number, Birthdate).
