  1. Not in this case I believe. I think it is as simple as stated above. #3 replaces #2 and no monies lost since #3 didn't pay anything in the first place, other than port taxes which are refundable without insurance. IDK if there is any loss to do it now, but I think I would first step have Princess swap #2 and #3. After this is completed, then I would drop #3, or do a no-show.
  2. It would make sense IMO to have a system where loyalty levels require continued travel with the provider. I have had hotel statuses in the past and lost them. I was top tier Air Canada for 10 years and lost that when I retired (required at least 95 flight segments per year at the time to maintain it and that isn't good enough on its own any longer as the mighty dollar spend comes into play now). We still have some sort of status level on X and have not sailed with them in almost 20 years.
  3. Take a look at DineMyWay. There are two basic paths - one is to book the same DR and timeslot for the entire voyage in (hopefully) one step and the other is to book or change individual nights. Note that booking for the entire voyage does not guarantee you the same table each night. You have to inquire with DR Mgr on board about that. Also, contrary to above, you do not get to pick your table size. You do get to setup your dining party which can be just you and cabinmate(s), or you can connect up with other friends on the same cruise by making them Travel Companions (another App feature). Once you have entered on DMW path or the other, you select a desired timeslot (20-minute intervals) and you then elect either Private or Shared dining. If electing Private, the table size should match the dining party size (except there are no tables seating odd numbers). If you elect Sharing, you could be assigned to any size table it could be different each night and you won't know what you have until on the ship.
  4. There is a longer standing thread where guests have been reporting their bid stories:
  5. I have to go to the bar anyway since I don't believe they have added option to order a drink not on the pre-set menu. The only time I have ordered a drink (a rare event for me anyway) on the App was when they were giving us first drink free pre-Covid days.
  6. You forgot to mention your need/want for a wee dram or two in the evening. 😉
  7. No chance for us either on measurement of onboard spending. No inclusive fare packages, BYOW, no ship excursions. Most of our extra spend is on some SD, unless sailing Caribbean and then add on some Sanctuary.
  8. If I was in your situation, I'd go for the Mini since I would not be booking one normally at all. Don't care about balcony size in November crossing Atlantic as I doubt it gets very warm until near the end. (We don't normally book a balcony either, but if we had, seems like a great way to try out a Mini.
  9. Often happens with surveys where company is known. They probably don't want competition aware this is something they are considering.
  10. Naturally shorter cruises mean less dollars paid out, but the price is the same for short and long voyages because they charge by the day - same as previous pricing. Single Devices went from $10/day to $15/day. 50% off if you are eligible. Four Devices went from $20/day to $40/day. 50% off if you are eligible. TBH, the former price for 4 devices was a steal compared to single device and was really miss-priced. Now you need 3 people to justify sharing a 4-device plan.
  11. Even if the ship is still offering some OBC in lieu of no more coffee plan swap (and that OBC seems to have ceased happening), I doubt you will be successful attempting a re-swap since you already accepted the wine.
  12. Check out the deck plan for Sapphire on Princess.com. It has basically the same dining space as other ships, but each of the mid-ship DR's is halved so there are four smaller DR's in the same space. Same menus, just different decor themes I have read. As I expected, you are going to need to speak with DR Mgmt and likely should be good to be accommodated somewhere together. In fact, your desire to have 6-top and an 8-top to fit 5 and 7 makes it even easier IMO since I have noticed a section staffed by a wait team will typically have an 8-top, a 6-top, and a mix of 2's and 4's (not sure how many seats they typically allocate per team). I have not been on Sapphire, but have noticed 6 and 8 size in close proximity on other ships.
  13. Actually, in my experience that went quite well - not only for me, but for others who appeared to be getting resolutions while I was waiting my turn. If worse came to worse, they could make a TD type block in the AT section. What we need is DR Mgr's doing this now as DMW cannot handle it with programming logic (almost impossible to be done). And they are helping folks out these days in most cases it seems.
  14. But that is the App in a web version. I am thinking you are looking in the wrong place. Try the URL above??
  15. How did you contact a MD (now the DRO) on a ship? Sounds like you must have had their personal email address. Or is RCCL more "open" about this? All we can do is contact Princess DMW help if reservation process is not working and they may or may not be able to help. If you speak with DR Mgr at the SD you are interested in soon after boarding, you should be able to get something arranged. On Day 1, they often have someone posted at each SD for inquiries and reservations.
  16. Sadly, the Princess rep is out-of-date with their info and didn't read the memo when MedallionNet pricing changed. No longer a different price on board and previous posters are 100% correct advising you of this.
  17. Don't worry about middle name missing in the App. I have not seen the App page layout in recent months, so I am asking if there is a middle name field you can manually enter. You don't have to use the scanned passport info - it is just a short-cut convenience (supposedly).
  18. I would certainly try that, but no guarantees. Doing so will assure you have the latest version without going into several steps to check the versions.
  19. You need to form two groups of six and have another "lead" besides you make a booking. If that doesn't work, I imagine you are stuck until you sail. You did not provide us with ship and date. You can login to Cruise Personalizer and use the URL provided to access the web version of the App. Many posters have reported success recently using that access to make dining reservations. Even if you are successful, DMW will have no correlation between your two bookings. You need to visit with DR Mgmt as soon as you can after boarding with all guest cabin numbers and names and request two 6-top tables in proximity to one another (same wait staff). They can most likely figure out how to accommodate you in one of the (typically) three DR's. You can mix up who sits where each night so you have a chance to visit with all in your party. You can even divide it up if one group wants to start earlier or later than the other.
  20. What do you mean by this? The high-priced Cabanas? Never heard of a clamshell chair cover in the Sanctuary. For me, a clamshell are those curved things they have on the beach at Princess Cay. Usually, it is the "shaded" loungers that go first. Actually the CB does have some full to high-shade loungers compared to the Royal Class. Have you figured out yet to let Mgr/Supvr know you want to book for the next voyage as you are B2B? You won't be alone in this and is partly why you weren't successful the first leg. Also, you will have had a bunch of Elite and Suite guest boarding ahead of you who would have had a head start. You need to be a quick runner to beat enough of them to secure desired chairs.
  21. Yup and you're excused being in hibernation now for the next few months.
  22. When Princess seemed to be still updating the system, I could use a different Fare Code and get cabins to select, but not now. I have read enough to know that the Aft Minis on Emerald deck of the pre-Royal Class ships are few in number and popular with guests. I imagine a contact campaign is in order if you want to effect some change. Otherwise, a GTY ME with No Upgrade (if indeed they can set that flag in POLAR) is the only way to go. That said, there can be some forward ME's on Dolphin and I am thinking those same fans of aft on Emerald would not want the Dolphins. As far as the Non-Ref Deposit goes, there may be other eligible Fare Codes that have Ref Deposits and you could book one of them, depending on cost. Even so, the ME Category is now going to allow GTY only, but at least the deposit can be saved.
  23. I know ... it was just a suggestion.
  24. Good point. I did not think to inquire of @realtrip if she was lead on both bookings. That said, I agree that the System should handle it correctly, but appears not to.
