  1. Interesting. I wonder if they have a computerized inventory, including location of every label they carry? To one of your other posts, I sometimes wonder if they are selling off supplies and looking to replace/refresh the current wine list, but don't bother stroking off sold out labels.
  2. That said, I and others like to DW's on Royal Class ships where there are extended balconies as there isn't really an obstruction and you get reasonable outdoor space compared to a postage stamp.
  3. Yes, but there are other Deluxes with higher sub-categories with presumably better locations, such as DD, DC, DB, DA.
  4. They carved out a section within Sabatini's. Presumably, they could setup a specific place for it on a new build, but I have no idea.
  5. A first minor point is it seems odd to me to use a name that has been previously associated with buffet venues. But check out the second sentence. Is this the class system coming to the MDR? Does it mean there will be better, more upscale dishes if one is dressed in a suit and tie versus smart casual? Perhaps it just means something several posters have suggested... one level on a FN will be for those formally dressed per the clothing recommendations and the smart casuals will be on the other two levels with no change in menu. One would hope so, but who knows and Princess marketing can be loose with wording and not into the specifics.
  6. Yes, it is still listed, but like all of the labels, no vintage is provided. I calculate that it is far cheaper to BYOW if wanting a bottle on the ship. That said, if one could buy certain vintages, you could spend a lot more and perhaps reach the pricing of Princess. The last time I checked, one could get a Petrus for about $1100 less than Princess cost. Now, I do understand if one gets 25% off PCL menu price, that makes up the difference. But this is a math exercise since it is probably <1% of the passenger load would consider purchasing a bottle.
  7. Are you sure about the above photo? It appears to be quite old. I have PCL wine prices that are not 2023 (2022) and they are considerable higher per bottle for the ones shown. Dom should be at least $222 now. The Rothschild is $185. The Gloria Ferrer is $65. And so forth. Dom is actually not a bad deal on the ship if going to buy it. IDK if Dom has a lesser label nor why it would be a good value on board. Dom costs $255 at Total Wine right now. I believe PCL is offering the same bottle which is the basic Dom. ETA: Dom is one of only six labels on the entire wine list that comes out cheaper on board (including 18%) than buying at Total Wine and having to pay corkage. The list would be smaller if not charged corkage - only 2 labels, one of which is DOM.
  8. My practice - and recommendation - is to take the bottle with you. Two main reasons. I can easily store it in the cabin - including the fridge which isn't all that cold when turned low and I remove wine in time before dinner. That way, I don't have to wait at dinner while a waiter runs off to fetch it if I was using it elsewhere. (That said, a good wait crew will have the wine waiting for you the next night if you last dined with them, but that means having same wait staff each night, which we do, but not always the case with DMW). The other main reason is if I have the wine with me, I can have some later or the next day while getting ready for dinner, etc. Much more flexibility if you keep the bottles yourself.
  9. IDK if Princess ships carry champagne stoppers. They do serve some sparkling wine by the glass, so they might. I bring my own if any plans to have bubbly on a voyage. I also may bring a stopper or two for regular wine bottles as we do not empty a bottle at one sitting. ETA: As @OzKiwiJJ mentioned, we do not finish a bottle at a meal and I could be changing wine from one night to the next as in meat one night and seafood the next. That Cab blend I enjoyed last night isn't going to work with a fish dish tonight.
  10. I have found that the crew, especially cabin steward and waiters seem to like to call me Mr. FN and never Mr LN. I am fine with that. I would not like Mr LN at all - much too formal.
  11. Whenever a poster asks this question, it is important to provide the departure times for each port since FN's are not always on a sea day as it may not be convenient. You can guarantee FN #1 is Monday as it is both a sea day and the second night after departure and they like to schedule FN #1 ASAP as it is the Captain's Welcome Aboard theme. FN #2 is not going to be on Saturday since it is your last night of the voyage. So, it is going to be one of your port days and hence the departure time is important. They will generally pick the one with the earliest departure time. FN will never align with a 6pm or 7pm departure unless they have no other choice.
  12. Anyone can get their picture taken on a FN in whatever they are wearing. There is no requirement to be formally dressed in order to have a picture taken.
  13. Yes. I once took a lot of wine on a B2B2B. I had six free bottles for our cabin (wife and I counting). Since then, have never seen a wine table setup as we arrive quite early.
  14. The Wifi has no need of upgrading. There are plenty of access points around each ship. They upgraded the satellite service to Starlink which provides the internet service and so it is back to good decent speed now and 2021/2022 experiences are dated.
  15. You should also provide the departure times for each port. For example, if Amber Cove is a late departure, and Grand Turk is early, then FN #2 will be that night. Also, there is never such a thing as a quick question about FN's around here. PS - FN #1 could easily be Princess Cay because the departure is early and they like to have the first one ASAP after departure because the theme is Captain's Welcome Aboard.
  16. You can always testing anything by logging out of MedallionNet - even though you have the service as part of Plus/Premier package.
  17. The idea of using WhatsApp with just ship's INTRAnet and not needing a MedallionNet package is new IMO because some time back, I am pretty sure only Apple's iMessage (among Apple users only) worked that way. I will continue to be purchasing MedallionNet because I want/need more than simply WhatsApp access.
  18. You can use the web version of the Princess Medallion App. But you cannot do anything with dining on on Princess.com.
  19. The discussion has been about the cruise fare package and not the beverage package. I would not expect any discounting.
  20. Yes. Bring your ID and ideally a copy of your booking. Travel Summary.
