  1. But the Medallion and a Princess bag just screams pick on me.
  2. Princess can make changes any time per their terms you agreed to when booking a cruise. As for nbr of visits, it unanimous among members posting here that 2 visits for a 5-night voyage and 2 visits for a 23-night voyage is not fair. Is your cruise a combination of two B2B shorter cruises? If you booked that way, you get 4 visits for sure. I think we will eventually see a change to this, but no news yet. Same issue exists with Premier pkg where you get only 2 SD credits regardless of voyage length.
  3. You get your drinks at the new maximum price point, but you don't get new added benefits.
  4. Hey, long time no see. And of course. I sometimes miss the country even though I do look at the avatars. I think you will get your SD since that was a separate booking promotion. Second thought: They likely post $29 OBC to account and then you are charged $39, so $10 difference.
  5. It's true. A guest can have their own formal night whether it is on the schedule or not.
  6. Agree hotel apps can be basic, but some have room select and check-in function so bypass the desk essentially. Also act as room key using smartphone. Airline apps can offer a lot. Getting on standby and upgrade lists. Tracking inbound plane. Realtime flight status. Realtime gate info and changes. FF info like account status and points. I realize most have been around longer than Princess App, but they also continually improve and don't lose basic things like reservations, seat selection and boarding passes. ETA: I am confident using these travel apps in that they are handling my reservations and tasks correctly. I can hardly trust the Princess App at times and have to frequently verify things are as expected with a booking. Perhaps,if I had a booking today, I would be feeling better than I was last year. IDK.
  7. I'd rather a TA that doesn't go to that considerable expense and plow savings into my cruise fare discount. Anyway, your post makes me think of the many airline and hotel Apps I use that work flawlessly and have been improved over time compared to Princess App experience. No comparison (pre-cruise).
  8. Yes, $10 is diff from $50 to $60. Who knows where $14 is coming from unless the number was a response about Ocean Now. Yes, you can pay $15 once and covered for Ocean Now delivery. No need to upgrade.
  9. I have seen it as $19 for steak and $29 for added lobster tail.
  10. We have recently been picking up a couple of the blankets for use in the cabin. But your idea sounds bold.
  11. I have seen this sort of thing when pricing cabins - a BA or BB can cost more than a DE or DD. But I do not see regular occurrence of a BA costing more than a DA, a BB costing more than a DB, etc. My observations are from shopping cruises and checking Balcony pricing, although we normally book Inside. Will go Balcony on a price drop or something that I see as good value. We have booked one Dx in the past when it was a good deal and similar or less than some Bx. That was when they were a newer thing.
  12. Check out the deck plans on Princess.com.
  13. Based on post above, including the official word from our resident expert, it is the same violation.
  14. This is not true. A Dx is a higher category than Bx. Now, I won't claim that you can never purchase a Deluxe for less than a regular Balcony, but the general pricing (say, DB to BB) is set such that the Deluxe does normally cost something more. The Deluxe has a few more square feet and a small sofa or love seat.
  15. I don't put a lot on some blog referred to in the post prior to this one - especially when it had an obvious mistaken named port. But the above could be something as it sounds like the ship was not departing Hawaii at the time for continental US, but still had at least one more port stop in Hawaii. That old CC post doesn't explicitly indicate if the rule about missing the ship was for all ports or the last one. I do agree that it could be interpreted as a violation, but the passenger can rejoin the same ship before it leaves Hawaii. I think we need the expert to weigh in, but I am leaning to your position. 😉 @chengkp75, where are you? CASE: Guest is on a closed-loop cruise from, say LA, to Hawaii with 3 stops in HI ports and then a near foreign port stop in Ensenada before returning to LA. Can the guest stay off the ship overnight on big island Hawaii and re-join the ship the next day and not cause a violation of PVSA? Ship has port stop in Kona and then Hilo the next day.
  16. When looking for a cruise and cabin on Princess.com, set number of guests to 4 and you will see available cabins. Make a note and start over looking to book 3 guests and only select the cabins you saw. Another way is to open a second web page for Princess.com and pull up the deck plan for the ship you want to go on. On the deck plans you can set max occupancy to 4 and it will filter down to only those cabins being highlighted. On your other screen when booking 3 people and considering available cabins, then check against the deck plan and see if they hold 4 people. Then you know you have at least one bunk bed.
  17. We are aligned a lot in thoughts and experience with this App since June 2021. #2. I do not think they actually leveraged business SMEs when documenting App requirements. IDK who was standing in for the guest perspective. I doubt they spent any quality time engaging with a couple of Maitre D's at the time (now DROs). They should have formed a business user committee and had them engaged throughout the design and testing phases. They should have had people close to the guest experience. I think they really missed on the initial requirements. Also, the solution design was lacking in a guest focus or understanding what the cruise experience is. They did have some good high-level concepts like identifying the guest wherever they are, being able to bring items to the guest, guest recognition, touchless service, Ocean Now ordering, DMW, but they missed the mark on meeting what guests really need or how to make it simpler. #4. (First one as you had a numbering issue above). Princess is never going to have a public forum for reporting website and App bugs and issues. I could see them using a limited polling for new feature options. #5. (First one as you had a numbering issue above). How do you know they are not using an internal issue tracking log or software application to track and manage bug fixes? #5. (Last one) & #6. They appear to have a 1-way integration (from POLAR to Medallion App). This has been fraught with data conversion issues (data corruption) from the launch. It is difficult to pin these down as an external observer, but observed happenings indicate this has been a chronic problem. Certainly not best practices here. #8. I used to think of John Padgett as the CTO. Perhaps he was not and someone else was/is. He was certainly the lead for the Medallion project, but I think his initial focus was on the technical outfitting of the ships to support the Medallion connectivity and function, plus the Medallion design itself and IDK how much he was engaged in the initial App software because he knew nothing about cruising when he joined Carnival/Princess. Now he is President of PCL and there should be a CTO (perhaps that is a Carnival Corp position - I have no idea). As to the aspect of Medallion working for Princess in terms of the ship infrastructure, it has to be termed a general success. But the OCEAN App software has been something else.
  18. Yes, but if @dipan0000 is looking at a Deluxe Balcony, there is the sofa that counts for 3rd sleeping berth. A regular Balcony has no sofa, so the bunkies are stored in the ceiling and he can look for 3 or 4 since I believe where they exist, there are always two in the ceiling. For a Deluxe Balcony, he should only look for capacity of 4 guests since that will ensure there is a bunk in the ceiling.
  19. Princess is infamous for not having complete documentation or for having conflicting information.
  20. All I said was that I saw some of the same pizza types (flavors) offered at Alfredo's on Ocean Now menu screens. And same price point. I was not "echoing another post" and I really doubt the poster was faking the screen shots and I take them at face value as current shots from Ocean Now. (I also pretty much always distinguish what I know versus something like "many CC Members indicate/report", etc). The pizzas at Slice are quite large compared to the Alfredo size. Also, Slice only has a couple of "flavors" at any one time. So, my questions: Are you (and others) saying the pizza ordered from Ocean Now is made at Slice, but they make the Alfredo flavor/style ordered? Is the pizza as large as the ones at Slice where they dole out single slices, or are they making smaller ones for delivery? Or, are the pizzas received by delivery the same size as the ones sold in Alfredo's? Just wondering what guest would get. The non-informed guest might presume they are getting an Alfredo pizza since they match name and price to ones offered there. Of course, if a ship doesn't have Alfredo's that would be impossible, but then IDK if all the same choices would be offered in in Ocean Now. Hope you see where I am coming from and clarification would be nice to have if anyone knows.
  21. The key in the situation presented is that the guest/passenger is not permanently leaving the ship. And the guest is still boarding and disembarking at the port of origin and the guest will be on the ship when it visits the required foreign port.
  22. No. Check the page I referenced for you. I quote: Complimentary Specialty Dining Mimosa Breakfast (daily)
