  1. The Sky experience sounds more like what I would hope Atrium entertainment to be. The Regal, however, has been using the Atrium for partying and loud music many nights. This new way to use Atrium was initiated on this ship by the ED prior to Covid-19 pause and was carried on after. For me, it was still much the same last Fall and IDK if it has changed since then.
  2. Aside from the fact that Princess insurance does not go up, another provider would not go up either as they wouldn't know what you are doing. But the real kicker is you cannot alter your insurance coverage once the trip has begun. You have what you have.
  3. Same advice for you as the other poster. Cancel now in order to get a CC refund rather than refund as OBC. Book early - soon after you board the ship for the best choices.
  4. Certainly could be, but there is only 1 formal night and that is when they do it. However, it has normally been on second of two formal nights. If you have a sea day, that is the one to count on. If you have more than one sea day, then hard to say, except they probably have it early and do the Captain Welcome Aboard theme.
  5. Could be an effort to increase wine sales. Was he wearing one of those metal chains with a metal saucer on the end? Such an old fashioned way to taste wine. I recall those from decades back on X.
  6. That can be significant savings. Tip pool is the loser.
  7. I see, but am not convinced that this isn't poor Princess wording. Someone else will likely chime in and confirm one way or other. I have never had Plus, so not sure.
  8. I was thinking of bottles and I imagine they are stored centrally somewhere for all locations other than the few bottles they have right there. I guess if I wanted a particular wine, I'd pick it up somewhere and bring with me.
  9. I am very sure you pay 18% on the 75% net cost.
  10. There was a tour in Falkland Islands that was fully taken by Princess. We booked a similar private tour to a different location. Not same tour but penguins nonetheless.
  11. They used to guard the Riedels with their lives. LOL.
  12. Not cool at all. And this is the first I am hearing of a Sommelier on Princess, so I do question if that was really his job title. I would not have accepted what they did and would have asked for a different wine if they couldn't give me what I wanted. No way I would have paid for inferior wine. A guest should be able to order any wine from the full list in a SD and not just the couple of examples they print in the SD menu.
  13. She orders the prix fixe 2X, but he eats it and she just has a pizza.
  14. Even so, they could add a note about the recent fire and so forth and that this port is subject to change. Maybe they would know a couple of alternative examples to list. We know HQ has to have Plan B or C in place.
  15. Yes, I am aware that certain tours by certain providers in certain ports get fully occupied by the cruise lines. But a guest can do their own thing, but obviously if a provider is booked up, they either need to find another provider if possible or go with the ship.
  16. IDK how many people realize you can order any wine in a SDR - anything from the full wine list from the MDR.
  17. I don't think many people book cabanas unless in Caribbean.
  18. Looks like folks are trying to get you to be more specific so they can help better. But I will say this. A guest can do their own excursions in any port that Princess calls at. You are never obligated or required to take the Princess excursions. (There may have been a brief period during pandemic that only ship tours were allowed in some ports, but that was obviously an extreme exception).
  19. Wow. Was it outside "normal" office hours for California? Maybe the US agents aren't working at all hours these days.
  20. I don't believe any of our OBC has not rolled over in the past (latest was October 2022) and we had SOBC on three legs. I am pretty sure I never lost a dollar back then. But I would have to review folio to be sure as I may have consumed it each time.
  21. These days it seems the target is 11:00am. You will read reports on here of a few minutes earlier or later. Would be something unusual going on for it to be after 11:30am.
  22. Next time, get to direct salea yourself by selecting option to book a new cruise from the phone tree options.
  23. You can still arrive at terminal to board anytime as you put it. The boarding benefit is priority boarding and only applies if you are at the terminal amd checked in before they let guests onto the ship. You wait in a special area and Suites and Elites go on first. Once the terminal is cleared of waiting guests, everyone just heads right onto the ship after check-in, so there is nothing special for Suites, Elites, etc by then.
  24. Interesting. New restaurant. Could be a new way that they want to keep some new labels just for there? There must be some changes to wine list by now, even if not reprinted as I keep reading about them being out of stock of various ones on various ships. Someday we might see a full current list posted in the forum.
