  1. It's not actually the Butler, however, in certain categories of QG suites a Bell Boy 'may be' on hand to welcome & escort. The Butler is usually visible in the corridor on arrival to welcome and introduce him/her self . Edited to add; The reference to the Bell Boy refers to the 'arrival lounge' ( shoreside) however, I haven't witnessed this since pre pandemic
  2. The new Cunard Brochure is available for QM2 & Q.A from April 2024 to January 2026 , however, the itineraries are only listed up to ; QM2 - 11th January New York Q.A - 11th January Hamburg/Southampton I expect these are the beginning of the World Cruise itineraries - however, no further information in print so far .
  3. Any photos of the interiors - ie Carpets furnishings etc . Once I'm at Sea on this beautiful lady I'm not bothered what she looks like from the outside . 😅
  4. I have no reason to doubt what you have been told over the telephone from a Cunard agent on duty, however, these agents at Carnival House ( often part time - only experienced in Bookings) have often given conflicting information relating to the Cunard Brand and the onboard product. Let me remind our members here of a post I made on the 28th November 2022. Back then I was given a 15.45 arrival time as Diamond loyalty - I seem to remember I posted "No Way Jose" ! as I intended to arrive at my usual time of around 12.30pm and I promised to let everyone on this board know how I got on - Well I was just 'waved through' to a check-in agent after showing the boarding card stating Diamond, not turned away ! after check-in I was invited to take a seat until embarkation was called shortly after 13.30. Move onto 1st October 2023; - Again I was given 15.45 arrival time - in fact there were three of us in our arrival party 'all Diamond', two with an arrival time of 13.30 , my self with an arrival time of 15.45 . Reading all the nonsense and scaremongering over the past year on this board and on various cruise forums of Priority Guests having to adhere to their allocated arrival/check-in times, my travel companions and I were a little hesitant when we arrived and stepped out of our shared taxi at the Mayflower terminal at 12.15 PROMPT ! We had no need to worry - just showed our paper boarding card - and we were all immediately WAVED Through to the check-in and then took a seat until Embarkation was called at approx 13.00 - Staggered announcements were made - for QG -PG- BC followed by Diamond and Platinum . Moving on : A former colleague of mine since her retirement now works for the 'Check-in Agency' at Southampton cruise terminals . This evening over a telephone conversation she tells me that they have had no directive from Cunard Line that they are to implement 'boarding by Decks', however, she did give me to understand that this procedure is occasionally used for the larger P&O ships . So let's wait and see for an official announcement within the next week or so 🤷‍♂️
  5. Nothing new on a World Cruise, I expect before the completion of your WC voyage you'll experience a couple of other port changes/cancelations . Join the Club.
  6. Typical response from a Guy. Ask your wife or partner . lol
  7. I certainly feel better , even if the shirt is worn under a jacket ... or when I walk out onto the dance floor...... without a creased backside ! 😅
  8. Give over 😅 If I couldn't get hold of an Iron on a cruise ship, I'd freak out . My ritual every evening before six is to press out the folds of a clean I need to wear , and maybe, to press out the creases of the 'seat of the trousers' I may have worn the evening before . 😅
  9. You are correct, but as we understand it this is how staterooms/cabins are 'these days', they are all part of a fixed module . I believe they were in the building of the QM2 ?
  10. Photos and feedback immediately please . 😉
  11. Just had confirmation from a 'source in marketing' that they are not recategorising any staterooms or introducing new ones . I'm wondering if those photos have anything to do with upgrading the bathrooms ? ie Glass shower doors etc 🤔 That might might make sense, as staterooms/suites whatever you want to call them, are part of a fixed module . Edited to add; I'm pleased to see they are ripping up those awful corridor carpets they always looked Faded . They were supposed to give the 'illusion' of walking out of your cabin onto a sandy beach with the tide rolling in . That was ok if one occupied an outside cabin - those in an inside stepped into the sea. lol
  12. Confused when you say you receive a new Pin on 'every voyage' ? You only receive a new Pin when you've moved onto another level.
  13. Personally I wouldn't dream of wearing a Polo shirt in the 'Evening on a Cunard ship', save that for Saga or MSC, however, do enjoy wearing it throughout the day or if you are on a port tour. Bluemarble has clarified Cunard's suggestion , in other words a Dress shirt is a 'Long Sleeved' shirt with a smart firm collar. - Open neck, Ideally worn under a jacket 👌 😉
  14. Time for Cunard to introduce new Evening Gala Themes Roaring 20's is and opportunity for some gentlemen to climb into the loft to bring the dressing up box down. Trilby hats and the Gangster look is childish and ridiculous. How about "Red Carpet and Hollywood Glam.
  15. Time is over due for Cunard to introduce new Gala Evening Themes ! Enough of this Roaring 20's nonsense , just an excuse for some gentlemen to bring down the dressing up box from the loft. Trilby hats and the Gangster look is childish and ridiculous, how about "Red Carpet & Hollywood Glam" .
  16. Oops just noticed a typo in my post 51 Edited to read Senior officers parties 5.15pm & 7.15pm.
  17. Sold out It certainly was ! I was also on this cruise and have to say this was one of the best cruises I've experience in 54 cruises taken with Cunard . I expect this was down to an interesting itinerary and the warm weather conditions, not only that, but to the wonderful demographic of our fellow guests. As I understand it from speaking with voyage sales there were almost 1,450 Diamond guests plus the platinum and other repeat guests , so much so the Senior Officers party had to be rescheduled to an evening event 5.15pm & 17.15pm . Every evening onboard was a sense of occasion, with smart and formal attire being adhered to. The Commodore Bar and the Chart Room was a wonderful sight to behold, not a polo shirt in sight 😉 certainly no long waiting to be served, twelve waiters + five bar staff dispensing the drinks every evening in the commodore bar between 7pm & 8.30pm . No complaints from me with the food or the entertainment, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the cruise and didn't want to get off. I've said so many times on here before - " There is Life outside the Grills "
  18. Not too sure why you need to see it on line. OBC is only confirmed on the Booking Invoice, or you can also keep a track of OBC when you are finally onboard from your Account Statement .
  19. No, you can't pre book on line . Booking a theatre box (which also includes the product of Champagne, chocolates etc) are usually for the big production shows . Whilst these big production shows are usually on a formal evening they are also subject to change . You will need to mange this on the day once onboard the ship. In the mean time Theatre Boxes are freely available on a first come first served on non formal evenings.
  20. Good gracious call me old fashioned, but I've never taken a cruise without my trusted travel Alarm Clock Leave the I Phone in the safe or under the bed and forget about it .
  21. Don't worry about that old chestnut, you will have access to 'All parts of the ship' ! with the exception of two small ( Grill) restaurants, one small lounge adjacent to the Grill restaurants and one Sun Deck. All the other venues are open and to be enjoyed by Britannia Category guests which will be the category you are planning to book.
  22. I aways go for a 'Wine Package'. Great for the restaurant, none of this hassle trying to flag a Sommelier down each time you want a 'Glass of Wine as in the Drinks packages'. You can pre arrange for a bottle from the wine collection to be delivered to any Alternative dining venue , you can even have a bottle (or take it away) delivered to your stateroom for drinks on the balcony/room service etc. You can also enjoy wine from the collection in any Bar Venue ( Commodore Bar for example) the Bar staff will take care of it for your next return And finally if you don't manage to consume all the bottles , any unopened can be taken home with you .
  23. Edited to to read. October 1st 2023
  24. P&0 ( God forbid 😉) in Pounds sterling - Cunard Line US $
  25. Another Thumbs 👍 up for M&S. Please please don't rely on onboard Hire. As self appointed fashion police & fashionista ( only banter folks don't be posting in ! ) I can't help smiling at some of the sights I've witnessed, ill fitting trousers & jackets that some gentlemen will accept from a pushy onboard shop assistant .
