  1. I guess I'm on the same Cunard cruise ( departing 1st Oct 2022) Excursions for Santorini ( Oct 10th) are now available in My Cunard. I have just booked a trip that will take me up to Fira by coach rather than battling the crowds for the cable Car. I understand there will be five ships in port that day.
  2. Neil Kelly is on the Maiden , it all depends who takes over when they rotate.
  3. I was referring to what I read in another post. Member Fourmile.Ranch posted a photo of a $10 supplement for Lobster Rolls, not too sure if these are still available now.
  4. It was originally introduced on Q.Vic some years ago ( well before 2020) as a trial , I remember visiting the GL one evening just to experience it. I believe it is more popular on the QE itineraries especially the Alaska cruises due to some of the Tours ashore often 'depart or return' late evening. In 2018 on my Alaskan cruise the GL was serving evening meals then, I experienced it again after retuning back to the ship quite late around 9pm from a Whale Watching tour (never saw one -that's another story) It is quite handy to pop into the GL for an informal meal ( in sort of outdoor wear) rather than returning back to the cabin first to smarten up . Edited to Add; In 2018 there were no chargeable items other than alcohol
  5. On Queen Victoria; ( 2022/23) First sitting 5.45pm ( last call 6.15) Second sitting 8.15pm ( last call 8.45pm) Queen Elizabeth Alaska itineraries may be different timings due to evening shore side tours.
  6. Your experience on QM2 was completely different to mine , in that you appeared to have Open & Fixed in the same area , was this due to an over flow from the open dining concept ? In your previous review you mentioned that from time to time you often experienced new neighbours, I expect they were delighted to be directed to vacant tables in the Fixed Area, no wonder they didn't experience standing in line or asked to return later. The QM2 Britannia restaurant is almost twice the size of Queen Victoria .
  7. It also means you 'might' have to stand in Line whilst a table is allocated or worst still, given a Pager and told to return back . I witness all this on my last Q.V voyage ( a birds eye view over the balcony) from the comfort of my dedicated table. Not really my idea of premium dining.
  8. Good Gracious yes of course, Cunard Line is considered luxury & premium. Not only decaf Coffee/Tea but a large selection of Herbal Tea as well. Cunard Line have been in the maritime industry for over 182 years they cater for everyone's needs .
  9. Thank You for your positive review, just a small clarification re the speciality coffee, complimentary in the restaurants. They are direct from a machine unlike those from a barista, however, if like me one enjoys a proper latte/cappuccino then the venue to enjoy a good one is the Chart room. Unfortunately there is a charge 😪 unless one is in the Grills lounge 😉.
  10. You are correct, however, you are splitting hairs here. I highlighted a future increase in the concept of the drinks packages.
  11. Thank You for a full clarification of the increase. My post referring to 12th September (from a Cunard source) was over a casual drink & lunch this Bank Holiday weekend . Wont split hairs, I expect they were referring to the Q.Vic procedure going live 'around' the 12th /15th Sept . The original post was to highlight the upcoming increase in drink packages.
  12. The information I'm sharing is via a source at Carnival House, it has also been confirmed through a reliable travel agent apparently 'in advance' of an upcoming announcement for 12th September . Maybe Solent Richard will post the photos of the 'new flyers' as seen on various Cunard fb forums that have also been circulated around the cruise travel industry .
  13. I don't blame you. If ones cruise is port intensive purchases like bottle water/soft drinks and wine/beer are available to take onboard for the 'occasional drink' in the comfort of the stateroom whilst getting ready for an evening out . A pre dinner cocktail ( for two) & the purchase of a reasonably priced bottle of wine in the restaurant wouldn't be around $180 per evening .
  14. It certainly is, and I'm flabbergasted whilst I certainly enjoy a drink or two ( or even more) a bottle of reasonably priced wine at around $45 will cover me over 'two evenings in the restaurant' plus a a good Dry Martini pre dinner is all I need . (maybe a glass of wine I've taken onboard for consumption in the stateroom whilst getting ready for the evening ) Plus 'the occasional evening' when one attends the CWC receptions etc when an ad hock G&T ( or two) is available, if one knows the right crew member 😉 Wouldn't dream of spending $90 per day, before long it'll be increased to $100 .
  15. Hot off the press ! Since I posted the above only a few days ago , the price of Alcohol drink packages is to go up further to $90 !! 'with effect from 12th September 2023'. ( I believe the purchased drink will be $13 / $13.50 )
  16. Well you eventually received your refund , it still wouldn't encourage me to sail Princess. 😉
  17. You can double that , no problem 😉
  18. You are correct, unlike HAL who took away a 500 ml ( part bottle ) of water away from me on embarking the Maiden voyage of the Konningsdam 😡
  19. It's all there on the Cunard web site . That's the beauty of Cunard they treat their customers like sensible adults . One can take onboard a sensible amount of 'Wine plus Spirits' ( in fact more than the stated amount ) just don't abuse it going over the top ! otherwise we will loose it . 😉
  20. Yes occasionally , but book BEFORE September 4th .
  21. CPS gets my vote 👍 however, there is also 'Parking 4 Cruises' which I understand is slightly cheaper. I've never use this company but considering giving them a try for my next cruise.
  22. Most guests onboard are often accompanied with a travel companion ( as in your case) The author of the original post hasn't mentioned if they are also travelling with their relative. In most cases with wheelchairs, particularly in restaurants/other venues often the guest has additional help to stow/park the mobility aid out of the way from crew working areas .
  23. I expect it is better than nothing, however, looks very Clumsy. Might be difficult trying to manoeuvre in between tables and chairs in the various public venues & restaurant.
  24. 😂😂 You must be joking , in fact the drinks package has just increased. Perviously it was $65, it is now $70 purchased in advance or $75 once onboard.
  25. Devonport D, if you are resident of the UK e mail ukworld.club@cunard.co.uk Requesting cruise history , you will receive a reply within a day asking to provide three security questions A full history of past cruises including any booked future cruises will be e mailed back within two days including confirmation of loyalty level, number of cruises taken and total number of days. Couldn't be any simpler.
