‘Left luggage’ is just a synonym for bell storage. We have placed luggage in bell storage many times in many places, sometimes for a few days. In my experience, superior hotels like the ones Regent uses have secure storage areas for the purpose. I hope that gives a bit of peace of mind.

Many river cruises do provide bicycles. Liability issues abound in this industry but waivers can handle most problems.

Yes, we would. We already do a mix of Regent excursions, both included and extra cost along with private tours. On occasion, we just head into the port and do our own thing.

If you do face a little wait you may step down to one of the lounges and the host will notify you when the table is ready

In my experience, most all internet groups or forums have an ignore, mute or block feature that allows a user to hide individual members from one’s timeline. I can’t find such a feature here. I hesitate to extend this topic but if one doesn’t care whether or not a lounger is in the shade does that make it easier to find a spot?

I disagree. I’ve been on more than one Regent excursion where the itinerary changed mid-excursion because participants had failed to think objectively about their ability to participate. In some cases certain sites were cut out completely because the operator doubted the ability of several participants to negotiate the pathway, stairs, length of walk, etc. If the Lord blesses me with a long life these limitations are coming for me as well. My intention is to properly evaluate my abilities when the time comes.

We actually embark the Viking Ingvi on 9/7/22 at Passau. We are spending a few days on our own in Munich then the land based portion of tour begins in Oberammergau/Bad Bayersoien on 9/4/22. It looks like we are a couple of days behind you all so I assume we are on different boats. I suppose if we relocated to whatever hotel Viking booked in Munich they might let us board the bus but I’m not worried about that. We’ve booked a car service. I’m pleased my wife looked ahead instead of us scrambling for a ride the night before.

Good advice! There are a number of choices. I recently switched from Flight Aware to Flighty. I often receive updates from the services before the ones from the airline!

We leave 8-28-22 for our Oberammergau/Munich/Salzburg to Budapest trip. We just learned today that because we deviated on our arrival by coming to Munich early and staying at a different hotel that WE are responsible for getting ourselves to the Oberammergau hotel. I’m not too exercised about skipping a bus ride although it’s likely to cost another €200-€250 to get us there. I’m a certainly happy we checked on this today otherwise we would have been left scrambling to arrange transport. Anyway, for anyone in this situation just know that you’ll need to make private arrangements.
