  1. Gotcha ! You could always just put it all on black... or red (roulette) too, if you're feeling "lucky"! 🙂 Tom
  2. Yes, I think it used to be "strawberries". I just checked and it's worded as: “Chocolate Delight” on 5+ day cruises It does not sound very delightful. I always forget to order that stuff. The only thing we regularly get are the two bottles of water and the cash from the casino cage. Tom
  3. I was kidding - even I would not shell out for Star Class... often between $25k-$60k for the week !! We sailed in it once, back when it started thanks to an offer from a casino group. Jumped at the opportunity for about $5k. Tom
  4. Carnival is a relative bargain... Celebrity (before gratuities): Premium Package Starting from $109 per day
  5. Well, unless you've prepaid gratuities, nearly half of that OBC will be used up there. (for two people) Tom
  6. Indeed ! That said... with Carnival, unfortunately, it makes no difference if those 1,000 days were in a interior, balcony, or suite. Therein lies a glaring problem with their past guest program (IMO). Tom
  7. I so want to like coffee, but I don't. I've tried to enjoy it (2-3 periods during the last 20 years), but can't get past the taste! I love the smell of it, but that's where it ends. I love chocolate/desserts, but throw coffee flavor in there, and it lessens the experience (similar to Cilantro with me)... Tom
  8. The last two we've attended were in the Piano Bar as well - though it was at 5:00, and our Steakhouse reservations are always at 5:30. One of my main goals when dining in the Steakhouse (or really any time I'm going to dinner) is to be hungry. If I sample all those great treats which are brought around - that impacts my ability to enjoy (without discomfort!) all that awaits ! Tom
  9. So... is this something I can do at this point (achieve Discoverer on Azamara) with my Elite Plus status with Celebrity? If so, how? So, since I've already been matched at Gold (having not yet sailed with them), I'd be out of luck trying to "re-match" to Diamond? That, I like. I feel a bit "cheated" when Luminae is closed on port days. Tom
  10. Must... make... it... to... ZENITH ! lol Tom
  11. Carnival needs to implement Double Diamond, and Triple Diamond, right up to Penta Diamond (we have one of those here on CC). They could put stripes on the card to denote each additional Diamond level - sort of like stripes to denote rank on a uniform. Then, here's the biggie, Carnival could award an additional free Steakhouse night each time they reach that new level. Yep, that's about the extent of perks I'd expect. Now, what I'd like to see (Double Diamond and above) is some sort of wifi and drink package. Not... holding... my... breath... Tom
  12. Good choice - keep that cabin in good shape for us (not until May). 🙂 Interesting, they got those to you pretty early in the cruise (the last couple I received seemed to be on the next to last day). Are you utilizing your Milestone benefits for this sailing? I'm eligible on our Mardi Gras sailing next month, but will wait until we're on the Celebration. Let me know if the "special" guest services phone # works for you. I've had the worst luck with that, on several sailings. It just rings and rings! Someone mentioned Behind the Fun... let us know if that's an option again. I'd like to take a look around an Excel class ship. Also, do you recall if that was ever a Diamond benefit? I might be mixing up my cruise lines ! HAVE A BLAST !! Tom
  13. I know what you mean - if I find myself in a situation where drinks are covered, I'm more apt to drink a couple more than I typically would, and perhaps regret it! Yep - don't change your playing pattern for some better perks... and... suites on Carnival, pretty much just for extra elbow room, they don't come with much else to justify the higher cost. Tom
  14. I think it pegged me as out of the country. Yep, when traveling within the US, it's generally only an issue with some broadcast stations (national news @6:30 for example won't allow me to play back recordings). Tom
  15. Oh - I understand the future, I cut the (Cable TV) cord a few years ago. Perhaps I just need to figure out a way to use my platform of choice (YouTube.tv) onboard. I'll see if setting my location in Orlando is "close enough" to my home area so that I don't get blocked out. When I tried (without VPN) last cruise - it pegged me right off the bat. Tom
  16. Oh... My.... Carnival, Carnival, Carnival.... don't screw around with things when you've got it RIGHT !! For the reference of others - here's what I've been looking forward to upon our return next month: Tom
  17. It seems odd that Diamond on Carnival does not "match" to higher than Gold (I'd think it would be Diamond). The term "Status Match" thus is not entirely accurate. Also, looking at the MSC page, it shows a type of progress bar and indicates "5700 points to reach Black Level"... ok... so what's Black Level ?? Tom
  18. My vision of "premium" options on a cruise ship would be live network and cable programming (though I don't want/need 100+ channels), and if they could throw in a DVR, all the better - LOL Tom
  19. Is the 9.5 Mbps supposed to be an endorsement for Starlink? Tom
  20. 😞 I hope that the one I'll be ordering on the Mardi Gras next month will be up to part with the one I enjoyed in '21 (FINGERS CROSSED). I'll have the image ready to show them (of the prior one) just in case they've "gone cheap" (bait/switch, lol). Tom
