  1. Then again, perhaps I do and you don't like the answer...on a ship with many people it is important to be thoughtful and courteous.
  2. Sad to say, for some individuals, "doing something" is leaving you chairs, having a leisurely lunch for an hour or so, perhaps taking part in one of the activities and then returning to your lounge.
  3. Where does it end? How Long can one "reserve" a table or chair. How many chairs are acceptable for one to reserve in the theater. Matter of courtesy.
  4. Personally I am not going to travel on Princess because of their hamburgers, especially if there is a surcharge. For lunch the standard hamburger stand is good enough.
  5. Waiting for the day when individuals will take an Enterman's cake on board for desert 🤣
  6. Not only at the pool: 1) individuals leave an item on a table in the buffet and then begin to look for food. 2) Individuals will take a seat in the theater and reserve several seats for friends. Fortunately, this is much more common on Celebrity than Princess.
  7. Princess Plus goes back to a time when virtually everything was included, not "optional" as is commonplace in many of today's cruse lines. We are doing a Trans-Atlantic on the Regal Princess in October. Expect to have a lot of free time on the ship. Because of this, taken this plan for convenience. We are also traveling Club Class.
  8. We sailed from Seattle on the Discovery Princess. Worst cruise port we ever sailed out of. To start with somebody stole the buses (yes they did) that the Transporation company was to use to bring us from our Princess Sponsored Hotel to the cruise terminal. When we got there we found a line, outside of the terminal, blocks long. Many individuals did not have luggage tags. Since we were elite we were able to enter the terminal from another area with little or not wait. It was very disorganized, until the individuals actually working for Princess took over processing our tickets.
  9. My wife and I were on the Discovery Princess this past July and found both the dining room (we were Club Class) and the buffet to be excellent. We were on Celebrity (Reflection) this past December and were disappointed both in the "Blu" Restaurant and with the buffet with variety. Also in "Blu" they did cut back on size of portions.
  10. Will be on Regal this October. Not really impressed with their Speciality Restaurants. But...we booked club class so in a way, we don't feel that we need them.
  11. We never have utilized the bidding system but have been offered upgrades several times by various lines. If you have a problem with seasickness, and are satisfied with your current room, I would keep it. No need to chance having a terrible cruise in case you are placed in a room that you would not be comfortable with.
  12. Thank you for the review. Regal has been one of our favorite ships and we will be on it this coming October for a Trans-Atlantic.
  13. Regal Princess was one of our favorites, and we will be doing a trans-Atlantic this coming October. Sadly, service has declined on most if not all cruise lines, and this trend has been accelerated by the Pandic. Simply put, cruise lines are trying to hold the lines on prices despite high inflation and overall increase in cost of operations. In respect to the use of the Medallion, we feel it is at best a "gimmick' The only advantage is that you can wear it on your neck or wrist and not having to worry about leaving your card on some table.
  14. Crown Princess is an old ship. There is no way of getting from this. Certainly it should be upgraded, but the Pandemic has put a strain on the cruise industry, and they wish, if at all possible to get some money out of all their ships, before committing to costly upgrades. Crown Princess was designed for the Caribbean which is most cases means that it is a party ship where most of the passengers are interesting in having a good time, and they don't really mind that the ship is old and that there is a wait for many services. If one wants to have all the "Bells and Whistles" take a newer ship and also check where it is sailing too.
  15. Since July we have had two cruises. One on Discovery Princess to Alaska and more recently on Celebrity Reflection. Common to both cruises has been a decline in the level of service. But this was something we noticed even before the Pandemic and possibly secondary to Cruise Lines trying to hold the line on the cost of a cruise. This decline has accelerated as ships recover from the Pandemic. The Discovery Princess was a brand-new ship. In perfect condition. We were Club Class and had no wait and excellent service in the dining room. We did notice that food selection was limited, but in the dining room and the buffet, but quality was good. The tours by Princess were great, well-coordinated. Entertainment was excellent. I do agree that the idea of a waiter tracking you down by Medallion is simply a "Bridge to Far" for Princess. Getting on the ship in Seattle was a disaster, very disorganized, getting off was only a little bit better. Our second cruise was on Celebrity Reflection out of Ft. Lauderdale. We had to take a shuttle from the parking lot to the boat. It was docked in an out of the way, out of date pier. The ship, to be blunt, is dated. We ate in Blu. Selection was quite limited and portion size was very small. Quality however was fairly good. Buffet as compared to Princess was a disappointment. Entertainment, like Princess was excellent. The two lines are similar. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Looking at both, we prefer Princess to Celebrity and in fact are going on a Trans-Atlantic this October out of Southampton.
  16. Same thing happened to my wife and son, after our Alaska Cruise on Discovery. Fortunately there symptoms were quite mild.
  17. On our Alaska Cruise out of Seattle this past July, boarding was a disaster, complete chaos.

  19. We have been booking "Club Class" since it was first introduced. Highly recommend.
  20. I do not think that any "executive" has made a decision to "Carnivalize" Princess. But cruising is changing. 1) More people are cruising with their families. Increasingly the majority of the lines, including Princess and Celebrity are making an attempt to attract younger cruisers with their families. They are the future. 2) If one travels at a time when school is out, be prepared to have a lot more children on the ship 3) Also look at the type of cruise. Caribbean cruising will often be children heavy. 4) There has been a cut back in all services on the majority of the cruise lines who are trying to keep costs down.
  21. Covid is an airborne virus. However, Norovirus is transmitted by surface contact. Would suggest that you thoroughly wash hands before eating in the buffet. In addition, if you see an individual touch the foods with his or her fingers report it to one of the buffet servers. We try to eat in the dining room as much as possible.
  22. Celebrity used to have designated individuals take your tray and help you find a table. But that type of service went the way of so many others in an effort to cut costs.
  23. Just because Princess does not make "announcements" does not mean that this is correct.
