  1. Promo FC524 does not give any SBC but does give additional savings of up to $1000 per couple, past guest discount of up to $400 per couple and the reduced $25 pp deposit.
  2. Glad it worked for you. I just tried and was told Promo NTB24 is for new guests only.
  3. We just got off the Polaris and were in a NS, #4022. It is right under the walking/jogging track. It was no problem with walkers but almost every morning there was a woman running up there. Sounded like “boom boom boom boom boom” whenever she was over our stateroom. There was definitely NO sleeping past 6:15 or whatever time she started!
  4. The same thing happened to us and I tried to persuade them that we will be flying the day off, not the day before, as it would not take us over 24 hours to reach FLL! They said that is just how their system books it so I decided to wait and see what would happen. Lo and behold, when our flights were assigned, we were indeed booked the morning of embarkation so no worries.
  5. The moment I see what Viking Air has assigned me, I check the itinerary, airlines’ seating & baggage policies, etc immediately. If I do not like what they have picked, I have the option to either purchase their Custom Air Plan & work with the Air Dept to find what I DO want or drop the air from my reservation and book flights myself. Just because that is what Viking came up with for you does not mean that you have to accept it if it does not meet your needs.
  6. It really pays to tip the bar staff. On our recent WC, DH tipped his favorites at Explorers’ many times and always received excellent service. One day we were on the Aquavit Terrace and he went in to the back bar which we very rarely frequented. He was gone forever and finally came back empty-handed as the bartender basically ignored him in favor of others who he served first even though they came after DH. They were all called by name and definitely “regulars”……probably regular tippers too!
  7. I may be the exception but…….I have been on here for 4 months and have not had a haircut yet! For one reason, I refuse to pay that much for a haircut that I usually get at home for $ 15 and also, 2 days after I get home, I will have my annual “Boat Cut” done which is a very short ‘do for boating season! Also, I have had 2 pedicures at twice the price of my go-to at home which lasts 5-6 weeks and each of these (much more expensive treatments) were chipped/ruined after about 2 weeks! Total waste of time and money for me but again, this is only MY experience.
  8. In regards to boorish behavior, we are currently on the Viking Neptune and have been amazed ~ appalled? ~ by the number of times we have seen bare feet on seats, pillows, cushions, etc, not to mention lots of feet ~ in shoes thankfully ~ being rested on the chairs/cushions in front of them in the theatre. As much as I would like to have my feet up, I would never think of putting them on the backs of other person’s seats!
  9. We used it to send luggage ahead for our World Cruise in December……bags were in our cabin upon arrival but 1 of the TSA locks had been removed. We had borrowed them from friends so will have to buy another for them upon our return.
  10. I would be very careful with this situation. Same thing happened to us with my husband’s name incorrect on MVJ. Called Viking and the agent said he would “fix it”. When he did, it cancelled all of our flights so I had to call back to try to get them reinstated. However, our return Business Class seats were no longer available and we ended up with much less desirable flights home. That agent assured me that she would keep checking to see if inventory opened up on our original flights but I never heard from her again and within a few days, received notification that tickets had been issued.
  11. Currently on the Neptune and the announcements are not on the bridge cam channel.
  12. Yes, we are currently on the Neptune World Cruise and no Maker’s Mark to be found, much to DH’s dismay!
  13. Yes, we are currently on the Neptune World Cruise and no Maker’s Mark to be found, much to DH’s dismay!
  14. I know this scenario very well. In 2020 we booked air on our own and were doing the Pre-extension in Lima. Our flight was due to arrive a bit past midnight so we were all set for the included transfers. However, when there was a schedule change which had us arriving a few minutes BEFORE midnight, we were told we could no longer use the transfers! It took a few calls before reaching someone higher up who “allowed” us to transfer with the others (who were on the same flight but had booked Viking air).
  15. I could be wrong but thought we always used the Port side on Deck 8?
  16. The “secret door” is located on Port side, I believe.
  17. Service “upstairs” can be quite sporadic depending on how many people are on Deck 8 vs on 7. If you order at the bar, they will be more than happy to bring it up to you.
  18. The Captain on Polaris is Margrith Ettlin which just proves my point that women, unlike most men, can find things!!
  19. Thank you for the information. We prefer the slider because we are in and out many times a day. DH has a habit of “accidentally” letting doors slam so we usually leave it open.
  20. We were very grateful for Viking’s assistance in getting us home from Buenos Aires when Covid first hit in March 2020. Even though we had not used Viking Air for our flights, they took care of everything for us.
  21. The short answer is “no”! Have been on 3 Ocean cruises and have never figured them out nor have I spoken to anyone who has ~ and that includes one Viking crew member who I asked!
  22. Yes, it was a fiasco but Viking gave us $100 OBC to compensate.
  23. We are on Viking Mars and were in Lerwick yesterday and the weather wasn’t too bad. It actually cleared up in time for Sail Away which was lovely. On Monday we were in the Orkneys and it was a miserable day with strong winds and off & on rain.
