At least on Viking the cabins have windows that are above the waterline.  We did not spend time in the cabin other than sleeping or getting dressed and it worked out fine.IMG_8015.thumb.JPG.6e28b2a2f32b06ce9f0a61a06ae1ae88.JPG

I was thinking the same thing, Sleeping and dressing.  The rest of the time will be either in other parts of the boat or on excursions.  I assume we can hang out in the lounge areas if we want to watch the scenery as we sail.  Correct?

  2. We are new to River Cruising, and we are planning on a Christmas market cruise either on AMA or Avalon in 2025.  Our TA priced a balcony cabin for us.  I'm just not sure I want to spend all that money on something I might not enjoy.

Can someone who has sailed in the below waterline cabins please share with me their thoughts on that type of cabin?  would we really spend so much extra time in our cabin that the big window would be necessary?  I really would appreciate any and all information about the lower level cabins.  😃

Pleased to read that some of you have retained any benefits when there is a price drop. We booked for this March on 28 December 2023 with final payment  04 January 2024- barely a week. Two weeks later a price drop over almost £1000- but no refund as it was after final payment. 17 cruises with Celebrity ( Elite+ too) and when I asked if they would give some obc towards excursions - which they would also benefit from- no!

I wish I had listened to the wise owls here- don’t look at the price after final payment but be happy with what you have booked!

Yep.  I don't even bother looking after the final payment is made.  I just don't even want to know.  😃

  4. I just did a price check.  I made a booking for the same cabin type for our May cruise, and it was significantly cheaper.  I called our TA, and she got the price difference for us. We did lose our OBC's but even so, we still saved over $2500 even after canceling our excursions and then rebooking them to pay with our credit card instead of using OBC.  I couldn't pass up that much savings.

I am happy vow renewal is not required in our church.   The vow you make at your wedding does not expire.    We do celebrate anniversaries.    Is this particular to a certain religious belief that you need to renew your vows, or has someone in the marriage broken them??

No. It isn't required.  SIL is a DR, and does not wear her rings at work.  She has gotten them resized so many times that the band is too thin to size again, so she doesn't wear it all.

BIL bought new matching bands for Christmas presents.  He wants to surprise her with them and a vow renewal.
