  1. Boarding in Seattle usually starts around 11 am. Suite/Elite and Platinum board early, then passengers with special needs, then they call out general boarding groups. Lunch is served in the MDR from 12-1:30. So plenty of time to get on board and enjoy a leisurely lunch.
  2. Yes, because they're the only ones willing to gamble on a potential crappy location. 😉😉
  3. For anyone looking for a true "adults only" cruise experience, just book a Lifestyles cruise. Problem solved.
  4. I really miss the good old days when we all had to fill out the Noro questionnaire at the cruise terminal before checking in.
  5. Princess ships are lacking in the library department. I was recently on the Celebrity Solstice and THAT was a proper ships library.
  6. I need context here, because I don't think your version of elevator roulette and the one I just Googled are the same. 🤣🤣
  7. There is an embarkation lunch in the main dining room, but if you board early it may not be open yet. It opens at noon and it ends at 1:30. The International Cafe will also be open.
  8. They underestimated the drinking power of their cruisers with a beverage package LOL.
  9. I love the salmon at Embarkation lunch and the chilled fruit soups.
  10. Room service will not enter your room. They will knock and you will have to open the door. They won't even knock if you have the Do Not Disturb on the door. Wait times are around 15-30 mins depending on demand. The app will tell you when your order is on the way, but you can't track it to the door.
  11. Arrival groups is a joke. It's an attempt to spread out embarkation, but in reality most people ignore it and clog up the boarding area. Post Covid return to cruising even Platinum and Elite couldn't bypass the lines and were stuck in hours long lines. It's gotten better, but everyone still ignores those times.
  12. Some of the most noticeable things for me since the restart post-Covid. Pros: Muster done through the app or stateroom tv and individually at your pace. The ease of ordering with the Medallion app to have food or beverages delivered. The large variety of items available for delivery. Holy cow, there's a lot. The staff. Always working hard and striving to make your vacation enjoyable. Cons: Biggest con for me was removing the always available steak option from the MDR menu. Entertainment is lacking. They've scaled back the evening entertainment, and many times you'll see the same entertainers around the ship performing the same routine you saw the day before. Production shows have been slow to return, and many are the same recycled shows seen on the ships over and over. Otherwise Princess fills the bill with comedians, magicians, vocalists and ventriloquists. Many of whom are doing the same routine multiple nights. Fortuna Luck is annoying. (My personal opinion) Just get someone personable to run activities and get rid of this "personality character". Even the outfit is demeaning. Salty Dog Gatropub is a ripoff at 18 dollars. It wasn't even that great at 12 dollars, but at least it had a very nice crabcake. They removed that and added a chicken sandwich and veggie burger. MDR food in general. I know this is subjective, but it's been downgraded in quality A LOT. While it isn't terrible, obvious cuts have been made, and the quality just isn't there. I ordered something advertised as having crab, and it had surimi(imitation crab) instead. It was just awful. These are just some of my personal observations. I expect I'll be flamed by the cheerleaders. But I've been on 3 Princess cruises since the restart and 2 Celebrity cruises. I can assure you Celebrity didn't cut as many corners on coming back.
  13. Yes the drinks are covered. My personal fave is the Sandia en Fuego. My husband really enjoys the Vanilla Sky.
  14. Thanks Bemidji Ty! I'll certainly be bringing in 2023 with hearing loss apparently. Good thing hearing aids just went on sale OTC!
  15. Hahahahaha.. spiders..☠️☠️☠️ Great review. Going to be on Discovery over New Year's and that's my kind of DJ!
  16. The eggplant pasta roll is sooo good. No need to spend more money on upcharge.
  17. Wow! That's pretty cool. I'm not a huge football fan, but promised my son and his friends I'd take them to the parade that day. I remember Mike as stomping around looking pissed at the players a lot.
  18. You're braver than me, and I live here LOL. I haven't ridden Joe Metro (old school slang for the bus) in years. And I rode the light rail once to go downtown for the Seahawks SuperBowl win parade. I still have PTSD from that ride.
  19. If you're wanting to stay in Seattle for a few days after the cruise and you don't want to spend a lot of time in traffic or commuting you don't want to stay near the airport. It's at least a 30-40 min drive from Downtown Seattle. On the other side of that coin, the light rail is cheap and reliable to get to downtown from the airport and the airport hotels are a 1/3 of the price. It just eats up a lot of time getting back and forth and the light rail goes through some sketchier parts of town.
  20. If she can't eat them for health reasons, then treat them like an allergy. Enter them as allergies with Princess AND make sure to talk to the Head Waiter as well. The advice given by memoak is good. They can make accomodations to the following night menu ahead of time for you. You can contact the Princess Dietary Needs Dept. at this email address with your Booking number, names and date of sailing. They will get back to you on what dietary needs you require. dietaryrequest@princesscruises.com
  21. Just to clarify on this slightly, the 200 pp deposit on a comped cruise is NON-refundable, but comes back to you on the ship as OBC. And it is also non-transferrable, so you can't move the deposit to a new booking either if you decide to cancel the cruise.
  22. Wow, that was the minimum? I thought you upbid to increase your chances. Congrats on getting your upgrade! It's always nice to have fresh air and a large window!

  24. There is also a new discount bus service that is operating under Greyhound called FlixBus. I believe it used to previously be called BoltBus. It leaves from the Pacific Central Station in Vancouver ( which is easily accessible on the EXPO line right from Canada Place across the street) and ends in the International District in Seattle. It makes roughly 4 stops on the way back including at the border. Cost was about 28 dollars 1 way. There is Wi-Fi and a bathroom on board. As previously mentioned bags come off and must clear customs then get back on bus. Great budget way to travel between Seattle and Vancouver for the able bodied. Mobility impaired travelers would find this bus difficult to navigate.
