Well, I hesitated to add a comment because we sailed in a suite on Silhouette last December. We noticed the overall product has slipped a few notches (OV quite a few notches!) and this was before January 1 when it is apparent more cutbacks and new fees began. We have been fortunate enough to have sailed on Celebrity for more than 15 years and this was the first time we did not book a future cruise. We have one more scheduled and I’m sure we will have a lovely time, but we are trying Oceania after that one.
Our table for 6 wasn’t a round because there weren’t enough of them, so we were stuck in a corner with 3 of us facing a wall. Lower ceilings and noisy. Not ideal.
We sailed on Navigator in 2006. One and done for us. As you have read, lots of people disagree with me 🤣. We found the vibrations too much for our comfort and we did not have an aft cabin. The dining room layout wasn’t ideal. For an older ship, give me Voyager!
We gave an extra tip to our fabulous Butler on Voyager last June. @bitob, who was your Butler? We will next sail on Grandeur and would love to see our friend Gopaul again!
We sailed on her twice, 1996 (Mediterranean) and 1998 (Panama Canal). Good sized cabins, beautiful dining room, excellent food and service. Small, intimate, very stable. There were water activities off the back. More yachting than cruising if that makes sense. Wonderful times, thanks for sparking those memories!
Well, that’s frustrating. I understand we cannot access our account from the television. So, does this also mean no menus on the T.V.? I read there is no app either.
For our upcoming cruise (Feb 25), we plan to bring a few bottles on board with us and try to determine what’s available on the ultimate package before upgrading.
There are lots of entertainment choices, from production shows, guest entertainers like comedians, magicians, etc., a duo, lounge acts and game shows. Sometimes silent disco (very fun). The beverage packages should be listed on the website so you can evaluate which package is right for you. They are charged by the day unless your cruise fare includes one. The Silhouette is a beautiful ship!
We will be finding out the answer for us, but not until December. We are booked in a SS, (or maybe it’s now a Sunset Sky?) and for us I believe it will be worth it for Luminae, upgraded beverage package and the wonderful Retreat concierge staff! We do love the revolutionized Silhouette and enjoy the sun deck, bar and lunch.
