Now for something completely different
Aus Traveller replied to Blackduck59's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Never again. I had wanted to book the aisle seat but he wanted me to sit beside him. I don't know why because he had headphones on nearly the whole way while he was watching movies. I told him that for our next long-haul flight, he can have the window as usual, but I am going on the aisle. I don't care if there is a stranger between us. I want to be able to get up out of the seat when I want to. -

I went to the bathroom, partially stripped off and tried to wash what I could of the sticky juice off me. When I returned to my seat, I covered it with several layers of the blankets they give out. It was yuck. Then I had another flight before I would be able to have a shower and change of clothes. -
Princess Shareholder question for Aussies
Aus Traveller replied to Cbtours's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
I will try not to cry thinking of how much my 100 shares cost. Anyway, at the time none of us knew that COVID was looming. -

Maybe they didn't have much spare water. I seem to recall that there was one small bottle waiting on each seat when we boarded. The flight was full. The stewardess on that flight has to be one of the worst I have encountered. Firstly, filling people's water bottles without regard to hygiene, then forgetting to give us breakfast. Maybe the only other stewardess in the running for the award, was one who spilled two litres of orange juice over me on an international flight. There was a rather perfunctory apology. It was on LATAM. -

I asked for another bottle of water and was told they had none. I have never before seen water bottles topped up and was stunned when it was done with the pouring spout of the water jug resting on the top edge of the customer's water bottle - time after time. I asked if they had a clean jug and was told "No". I usually get my own water during the flight but this was a night-time flight and I was jammed in between two large men. I couldn't easily get out. -
How did you up-load the copy of your vaccination certificate/s? I have mine in digital form on my PC, but the web version of the app doesn't appear to allow me to upload anything. When we started this long journey with the Medallion app, we used our mobile. I manually entered passport details. The other option would be to photograph the document then upload the image. If I have to, I can do that with the vax cert. However I would prefer to up-load an original version of the vax certificate, not a photograph where there would be no proof it wasn't an altered document.

Princess Shareholder question for Aussies
Aus Traveller replied to Cbtours's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Even though I emailed Princess on 11th April and again on 17th May requesting that the shareholder's OBC be applied to my account for my June cruise, it hasn't appeared on my account and there was no acknowledgement of my emails. This morning I spoke to Kate on the live chat. She said I would hear from the relevant department today. I did. Their email said they had not received my previous two emails, even though the address they now gave me is identical to the one I used previously and the earlier emails did not bounce. The earlier emails included all of the info they wanted (full legal name, name of ship, cruise number, date, booking number) so the lack of info cannot be an excuse. I have asked for an acknowledgement of receipt of today's email. If anyone else is waiting for their shareholder's OBC, I suggest you try the live chat line to get some action. 🙂 -

That's what I intend to do if the choice of a disembarkation group doesn't appear. -

Aus Traveller replied to Aus Traveller's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
I feel that the embarkation time is more important than disembarkation. In late April, 60 days before our cruise, embarkation times opened up. We were able to book group 1, 11am-11.30am. If I can't book disembarkation using the app, I will go to the Reception desk after we board to organise a time. -
Sorry to say, but I have been using the web version for weeks. However, it is NOT the latest Medallion app and in my live chat with a Princess rep this morning, she wasn't able to advise that the web version would be updated.

The embarkation and disembarkation times were easier to find on the previous version of the Medallion app. I found it a few minutes ago and will look again and let you know. P.S. I went into 'Personal information and documents'. At the bottom of the page there is a black bar with 'Suggested' in it. Scroll down a bit and you will see 'Arrival & Departure Groups'. The departure group isn't available for our 26th June cruise yet. -

The plane was fine, but there were a few issues that made it a less-then-pleasant experience. These are not issues that would be repeated, hopefully. They were my husband who wouldn't sit still and who watched movies all night (Gr....), a kid behind me who kept kicking my seat (Gr....), a stewardess who topped up people's small waterbottles from her jug by touching the lip of her jug onto the top of their bottle that had been in their mouth (Ugh.....;.) and a stewardess who skipped our 3 seats when serving breakfast. I stood up when she was around seven row past us and said "Excuse me, we would like some breakfast". Her response was I am just getting to you. Yeah. If they are still just giving out a small bottle of water to each passenger, maybe I would take a larger bottle (empty of course) and fill it up before boarding or on board the plane to avoid the issue that might occur of filling up people's 300ml bottles from a jug. -

After our last international cruise we flew back from the UK on the Dreamliner into Perth, then domestic to Brisbane. We liked the long international flight, but we still had the long domestic leg. -

I wanted to follow up on my application for the shareholder's OBC so I decided to try an early morning live chat. The line became available a minute or two after 9am and I got straight onto someone who was very helpful. I suggest trying at this time if anyone else wants questions answered via a live chat. -
Insurance question please.

That is the really worrying possibility regarding cost. -
Superannuation - Compound Interest

I am pretty sure that Les would not have received the $250 payment or previous such payments because he isn't as concession card holder. -

When the outgoing government promised to lift the cut-off point for the Comm Seniors Healthcare Card, I thought of you Les. Presumably that won't happen now. -
On many of our recent (pre 2020😁) Princess cruises, we had to get a tender ticket, but these weren't in the same number series used for the other passengers or we waited in different area. When a tender became available, those organising disembarkation, took some people from each group. That was fair.

I thought the prices you quoted ($1,800 with a special deal of $600) were too much for a Sydney-B'ne flight, even if it is return.😁 -

Surely you don't mean Sydney to Brisbane? Or do you mean either Sydney or Brisbane to the UK? -
We have a couple of P&O cruises booked, but I am not going to try to complete their questionnaires etc yet. It is enough to deal with the Princess Medallion app at the moment. When we get back from our Princess cruise in very early July, I will attempt to deal with the P&O one. Just as well I have plenty of spare time at the moment. 😁

An email from Princess this morning explains how the Medallion app will work re COVID and the requirements prior to boarding. As we thought, it appears that the 'changes' were an importation of data from the US site.🙂 Back to how we were - RAT within 24 hours, attest to neg result and obviously, pick up the medallion at the terminal. -
