  1. I am the original poster and wanted to do a quick follow up to my post from December 2016. OUR SON HAS REACHED ONE YEAR CANCER FREE! We've also sailed twice on NCL since then and have another cruise to look foward to this November. As a friendly reminder...males-do a monthly testicular self exam and if you notice any changes call your doctor immediately to schedule an examination. Early detection saves lives!

Happy healthy cruising to all in 2018.

So happy to hear your son is doing good! God bless, and good health in 2018!

  2. Just a few things off the top of my head.

Yes, to crepes and going all the way to the back to get seating.

Tyler Gray has the most energy I have ever seen for a cruise director. He is very engaging and you will see him everywhere.

Sign up for the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet! Lots and lots of free beers as well as appetizers were given.

In the morning, head to the 5'Oclock Somewhere Bar for coffee, tea as well as assorted pastries. It was great for us to run there in the morning for a quick bite including those delicious chocolate croissants.

If you find that you cannot make dinner reservations for the specialty restaurants, just go to the restaurant directly. We were accommodated at La Cucina at 6:30 p.m. (party of five) when all the screens and tv said only 9:30 p.m. or later was available.

The shows seems to last longer than other shows we have seen. I really loved the Brat Pack and it was 1.5 hours.

There is a small buffet set up in the casino during certain hours. Also, coffee.

    Great stuff, thanks!!

  3. Yes, there is an auto tip on each drink purchased.. HOWEVER.. throwing the server a buck every once in a while (doesn't have to be every drink) goes a LONG way with them. They will remember you. They will take care of you. This is especially important when it's real busy, and people are waiting forever for drinks. They will go out of their way to take care of you.

  4. bbryan5....the earlier post said " I have seen numerous passengers go way out of their way to avoid a spritz of hand sanitizer. I think they should give her a gun belt and sidearm." which seemed pretty hostile, so, NO, "hated " did not seem to me to be a "dramatic" response.

It's called a joke.... learn how to take one ;p

  5. I just took a quick peek at the deck plans.. it looks like you have rooms above, and below you, no noisy venues, so that's good. It's almost mid-ship, which is also good.. no problems, or negative aspects about that room, from what I can tell. Enjoy your cruise!

  6. Skip dessert in the main dining room and head up to the buffet for fresh made crepes. We did not discover this until the last night! Crepe station is located in the far aft of the cafe. Lots of choices for fillings and toppings. Trust me---don't miss it! Have Fun

Thanks! Never knew about the Crepes there! Will check that out for sure :D

  7. I agree with another poster that suggested using an SDP credit at Pincho Tapas. One of the best meals on the ship. And, most definitely try Food Republic at least once.

Excellent info! Thanks! Getting back to your other comment, about bars on the waterfront, are 5 O'clock and Cellars the only bars on the Waterfront? I remember on the Breakaway they had a really cool bar called Maltings (I think) on the Waterfront, and it was a great hangout
