  1. They could have known somebody that had been invited, and those friends told them to just come by. Nobody will know the difference. I have a feeling, although the bride and groom didn’t know them, somebody may have.
  2. I totally agree. Oh look, it’s one of those theme parties. I wonder why it didn’t show in our app?
  3. I was on the Panorama in Dec. and they did have Creme de Violette in storage. Aladin went down to get it for my Aviation.(also the Maraschino liqueur).
  4. He was Diamond Lounge Concierge on the Ovation in May, and stated he would be on there through the Alaska season.
  5. Do they have home tests that use a proctor, available in the UK, that you can order. I know Canada does.
  6. Since everyone is talking about Chief, I’m assuming you mean Chengkp75…..if you want to alert someone, use the @XXXXXXXXX (their screen name).
  7. When did you book the cruise, and when are you sailing? Carnival has a booking selection called Early Saver that allows price drops (obc after final payment) up to 48hrs before cruise. It does come with penalties, so you may have picked that one.
  8. Best place to look for any type of questions on protocols is the cruise line website first. It will usually have the most updated info. Also check YouTube for videos on how to use the Emed tests. Lots of them there.
  9. Not necessarily. I travel solo, and for me, a martini or 2, and the snacks, are sometimes enough for dinner for me. 😉
  10. Personally, if you have an arrival time at 11, I would just go to the port. If you try to drop off bags early, you are fighting traffic for disembarking passengers, and porters will be tied up with them. There also could be 2 ships in port, which makes it worse. Add to that a weekday embarkation, and you also have rush hour traffic. There really isn’t anything close to Pier 91 for people watching, so you would have to go back to downtown Seattle, and then back to Pier 91.
  11. Are you talking about booking a particular ship? Is that what you mean by reservations? Or like previous poster mentioned, and reserving shows, dining, etc. on the ship?
  12. Looks like it’s gone. OP, Most Covid threads go sideways anymore, and don’t last long. Nobody really know until it actually happens. If you’re worried, I would suggest purchasing the proctored test to take with you. If you end up not having to use them, better safe than sorry.
  13. I have been on Ovation 3 times, and if people were seated, eating, I would always walk on other side, past Bionic Bar. If nobody was eating, I would walk on that side. In the pic, you can’t see the tables set up on the right, that are right in walking path, within inches. Horrible set up.
  14. Some of us are waiting for the 2023 cruise season, to see what will happen. I had 3 cruises out of Sydney moved from 2020 to 2023, and they were all cancelled by Royal. My first is in Mar/2023. I don’t think anybody will know for sure until the 2023 sailings actually sail.
  15. I’m originally from SD, and this month has reminded me of the SD June Gloom. It has been extremely damp this month too, but looks like 80’s coming this weekend. My oldest daughter ended up back in SD, so I still visit quite a bit. Enjoy your cruise, and thanks for keeping us updated.
  16. I think I tried both…ship wifi and using my iPhone as a hotspot on my iPad, which is wifi only. It really wasn’t a big deal. Just surprised.
  17. Not in port, but youtubeTv must have still thought I was in international waters. I tried it in all the ports.
  18. I also have YoutubeTV and was surprised I couldn’t watch on Alaska cruise. I started in Vancouver and the whole time kept saying it can’t work out of country, even in Alaska. I have gotten a VPN and if I get surf and steam on Wonder TA in Oct., will see if it works with a US IP location.
  19. Personally, living in the Seattle area, I would fly. You just never know what kind of traffic you may encounter, especially when it looks like you are doing this on weekdays. Renting a car would probably cost you more than flying, considering the one way drop off fees. I took Quick Shuttle up in May, the day before I cruised, so I was fine, but a few on the bus were sailing that day. They made it at 2pm, but I would have been a nervous wreck. And Quick Shuttle does make a few stops. The border was the longest, since there were 2 busses ahead of us, and you have to get off, drag your luggage through customs, and then load back on the bus.
