  1. Henry, I remember that M and G on the Escape and Bliss! That empty looking bar counter was packed and the flowing appetizers, drink samples, everybody talking, making new friends, the entertainment. Good old days.
  2. What's for breakfast Henry?😁 Hope the motion of the ocean has eased up a bit. Thanks for doing this report.
  3. Very sorry to hear about Papi. Sorry I mis spelt her name...it is Charry.
  4. Thank you Jim. I enjoyed your live post a lot. Learnt a lot from you and all the people who posted. Stay well, have a safe rest of the vacation and a safe flight back home. I hope we meet you and Iain on a future cruise.
  5. Amish Markets...... There is an indoor Amish Market about 20 minutes north of us, which opens 3 days a week. They have a lot of good stuff.
  6. Any one from the left over Dream Team onboard? Cherry? Deepak? Jay? Papi leftπŸ˜₯ Alvin is on another NCL ship. Nomita? Roland? Kivanc? Shaun from Cruise Next? We had Patrick as suite concierge on the Dawn repo one year. He was excellent! Enjoy your cruise. I love your suite. Something to think about.
  7. Just looked for this and discovered it (after the email) . FOLLOWING!!!!!! Enjoy your cruise! I wish we sailing with you and S.
  8. I have read about Rebel Yell and seen their boat at dock. They are reportedly very good. They also do private charters. I think they are an all woman crew? Ours was a different company that Celebrity used.
  9. I think 3 hours on the beach. Ride was about 1 hr.... i would say (?) It seemed longer on on return. Short, but worth it, especially for peace of mind. Catamaran left promptly at 7.15 am from the Tortola dock. At the beach they transfered us to a pontoon with a ramp and we walked right on the beach. There were lounge chairs in and not in the shade, a bar, tables, the whole set up. Clean bathrooms and showers. Included lunch and a drink or two. Lunch was hamburger, chesse burger, hot dog, salad. Soggy Dollar bar was three buildings to the right. I would have loved to stay longer, but didn't want to risk doing it with a private vendor because of short port times.
  10. We did a catamaran excursion with Celebrity due to short time in port. Loved it. Just didn't love the short time frame. White Bay is beautiful. The catamaran transfered us to a pontoon with a ramp right to the beach. We didn't have to get our dollars soggy!😁
  11. I am joining Sue-in-Ohio, celebrating the "you have been excused" email I received this afternoon. Everything was going to be done via zoom session in the first week. Was sent tests, questions, some details, trial dates. etc along with a questionnaire. I was not going to be able to make a couple of trial dates and I answered the questionnaire accordingly. Got the email this afternoon that I was excused. Some years ago I was summoned to appear directly to a "closed door" session at criminal court. It took them the whole day to explain us what it was, why closed door session, reading of the briefs, questions, etc. Then they called each of the prospective jurors (there were 200 people) individually for questions. Some were being seated in the jury box and sworn in, but majority were being given a letter and dismissed. When it was my turn, they asked what my profession was and name of my employer. I was immediately dismissed upon answering.
  12. Have a wonderful time Lenny! It is great to live so close to your dear ones. Unfortunately we have to choose between which Mom gets to celebrate with her children, due to being spread out geographically and unwillingness of people to travel or compromise for even one year. So since many years in a row, DH's Mom and SIL have been winning this "in person prize" lottery. But at least we have face time for the other moms in this family! Not the same, but you have to make lemoncello from lemons! (I won't settle for lemonade!!!😁)
  13. I believe we have used them twice, only because of what they quoted and offered via that website I mentioned, where you tell them what cruise and several agents send you a quote with what they are offering. I am not sure if that website is working now. But can try. During summer, many TAs offer 9or used to offer) the free parking deal for Bayonne and NY sailings to Bermuda. A voucher with a bar code was emailed and one had to show it at the garage. Out of NY it was a great deal ($40 per day parking cost😱 pre pandemic) These days, I prefer to book direct with the cruiseline. Two TAs have burnt us with the whole FCC and refund thing on cancelled cruises. So for a bit I am giving them some space. Not all are like that, I know, but I am treading cautiously, given the current scenarios of ever changing and cancelled sailings.
  14. I hope so too. I would love to go again. Our cruise started and ended in Boston. We drove and parked at the port. Our TA of that cruise was giving OBC, two shore excursions and port parking as perk. We picked them off Cruise Compete.
  15. We were lucky we decided to do a Cuba cruise in good time. We went with Holland America for the 14 Night Cuba and Western Caribbean cruise. I loved it! The food, the people, the music! We decided we would go again. But that never happened.
  16. Now I have to go hunting for real good Hot and Sour Soup! I am really enjoying this thread. Please keep it going. I have made so many new food friends on top of learning about suites on cruisehips, ports, fantastic pictures, English holidays and what not!
