Booking on Board Not Always the Best Deal
Arzeena replied to Tenderpaw's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We have seen it many times. Due to the fact that some TAs have a group rate on some cruises. Group rates come out to be cheaper and may or may not have amenities, for example one of TA gave some OBC and a specialty dinner, another had a smaller OBC and a cocktail party, another had no amenitites but just the lowest price, another had a higher deposit (refundable) etc . The TA group rates may or may not be combinable with certain onboard offers such as OBC for booking onboard. This happened to us once, when we did an onboard booking and came back and wanted to go with the TA's group rate. We had to put some more $$ to the deposit, to make it a refundable and then be put in the group. Kept the OBC, just a higher deposit. You do your math and book whatever offer seems best for you. -
Our refund for the Aug 5 cruise is showing up on the credit card. TA said some of it will show up as FCC which will take some time to come, which is already allocated to another cruise. I am surprised but happy that Royal worked it quite fast. I have read that people are waiting months for the refunds due to covid cancellations.

Whatever suits you best or as some put it, whatever time you want your first drink in hand.😁 We prefer 1.30 to 2.15 pm, (especially if sailing from FL ports). We have experienced no lines, no mob trying to get in, no waits at those times. We are not those who want to get on the ship as early as possible to avail the drink package! LOL!😁 Wishing you and Jim a wonderful cruise. I wonder if there will be "fall colors" up north to enjoy at the time of your cruise. (forgot your sailing date).

I am going to say no to walking and no to bus as well. Best to take a taxi. We really enjoyed the gardens, peacocks and the flamingo parade when we went.
