  1. Thank you Charles, Depending on what time the first ferry to St-Georges leaves I just might do that. Hope for a taxi at the caves, having one being called is a good alternative. I will offer $150 ( 3h at $50/hour ) for the tour and mention I will pay the full fare even if it takes 2 or 2 1/2 hours... it should take me back to the dockyard on time while still doing everything on my list.
  2. Change of plans... Gibb's hill Lighthouse opens at 10h, so leaving at 9am from the dockyard would have me waiting about 40 minutes before they open ( I really do not have that time to wait there 😅 ) Are the blue flag taxi's only available at the Dockyard ? I could jump on the first ferry to St-Georges ( free or not ), taxi to the caves, tour the caves and then I would like to hire a taxi to do the 3h tour back to the Dockyard and stop at the Lighthouse on the way. Anyone know if hiring a Blue flag taxi from the caves in the morning is possible ? And, can a regular taxi be hired per hour like the Blue flag taxi ? Thank you all in advance
  3. Good morning Charles, This will be my 4th time in Bermuda but the last 3 trips I was docked for 3 days. This time around I am there from 9am to 4:15pm only. Ending the day in St-Georges is almost necessary as I plan to take the ferry back to the Dockyard. If I skip St-Georges after the caves I would taxi back to Hamilton ( around $40 ) and then ferry to the Dockyard? maybe the cost of the taxi is worth it to make it all fit in a short day... Obviously I don't want to wait 30 minutes at the Dockyard for an other couple to share a taxi before we leave in the morning. Do you think my party of 3 for 3 hours will have difficulty finding a driver willing to take us ? In the past I have pre arrange my tours but now there isn't a list of recommended driver anymore on CC I think. Thank you,
  4. It's been a few years since I visited Bermuda and this will be my teens first time there. I plan to take a taxi tour and I want to : Leave dockyard as early as possible ( docking time of 9 am ) Visit the draw bridge Go up the lighthouse Look at horseshoe bay Go through Hamilton Short stop at the BAZM end tour a the caves Is this ok for a 3 hour tour ?? Then next we would do the caves, regular taxi to St-Georges, visit a little and ferry back to the Dockyard. Total of 6 hours MAX, is this doable ? Thank you in advance,
  5. I had an appointment on june 9th at a Service Canada office ( not passport office ) to renew my passport. Received it on june 30th. Still the old version.
  6. I had an appointment last friday June 9th and they told me I would get my new one before the 18th. I will report when it arrives.
  7. Great question, I watched a lot of videos on YT about Taino Bay, the pools , the lazy river, the monkeys, etc... and nobody mentionned lockers. I didn't event think about that planing my stop in Taino Bay. Even at Monkeyland you put your things in a bin with everyone else's thing. It is a concern for me for passport, room key, money, etc. Will get a pouch I can put under my clothes for that but not for the lazy river tho. I guess I will watch my kids in the river while I carry our important stuff in my backpack.
  8. I am platinum but on my next cruise I will bring the kids ( 14 and 17 ) for their first cruise. We can all use the platinum line, right ? Thank you in advance,
  9. In Puerto Plata in Taino bay, if it is your port, there are pools and even a lazy river. All "free" to use but buying a drink at the pool bar is suggested 😉
  10. You like the beach ? You like history ? You like nature ? What are you looking for ?
  11. Here in my hometown, excellent fudge can be foud "easily", but not run cakes. I won't go out of my way to find it in Bermuda but if I find one at the pharmacy of the craft market I will get one...or 2 😉
  12. One "a la carte" meal in Cagney's will probably cost $100 and up for 1 person. A 2 meal package cost $99, so passenger 3 and 4 could enjoy a meal together in a specialty restaurant and the one at Cagney's with you for the same price.
  13. I just found a post with an article about the closing of the glasswork/rum cake factory back in late 2021. Obviously it is not a question of life and death but I would like to buy a couple of cakes while in Bermuda. Is there a shop at the dockyard or in Hamilton where they sell the rum cakes ? Thank you in advance,
  14. yeah I bet 😉 I had to add that to my signature as I was made fun of because of the errors I made in my post. English being my second language, I am not great at it 🤷‍♂️
  15. No limit, The more you bring the less they have to provide for you on the ship 😉 cost saving for them !
  16. And who is eligible for duty free ? Are my two teens (17 and 14) eligible for 1.14L of alcohol each ? I didn't see anything about that on the GOUV web site. Thank you in advance,
  17. Look for a vlog from Casey Neistat on YT. It's called "Creative poison". He reviews the Insta360 FLOW around the 5th minute. I almost bought one for my next cruise 😅
  18. Not the first time Bermuda makes an arrest for drugs on a vessel. Seen it a few times already on these boards. They do not mess around in the UK 👃
  19. That was the good old times ... the anticipation of receiving your package and the tags was so fun !
  20. Waited for 14 months to get results of multiple tests I had to do after I spent 3 days in the ER with extreme high blood pressure ( 220/130 ). 48 hours after I got the news that everything was OK I booked a cruise with my 2 teens. Do it while you can they say....
  21. 🙄😜 Dont worry I will get plenty of USD for the occasion. Thank you,
  22. I only use a reloadable prepaid CC for my purchases. Cruise is paid in full using this card. DSC are paid in full also using this card. SDP paid with this card. Anyone used that type of card for check in? ( I have a MasterCard KOHO ) If it does not work, I really have to pay $450 cash per pax for a 10 day cruise ( $1350 total 😮 ) even if almost everything is paid in advance ? Thank you in advance,
  23. I went to Bermuda aroud may 18th a few years back and we snorkelled. Our tour guide tought we were crazy to go in the water. But I am from Canada and the water was like any lake here in the summer 😂 so it was ok for us.
  24. The lazy river is free ? or for a "fee" ? Thank you in advance,
  25. My next cruise will be my first with online check in, once you enter your credit card number do they pre-authorise an amount right then or once at the pier ready to bord the ship ? Thank you,
