  1. bus number 7 will get you near the Lighthouse but not at the door. Expect a 10 minute walk from bus stop to the lighthouse. It is uphill 🥵 and no sidewalk on the narrow streets. Most, if not all, arrive via taxi or tour bus. Same from leaving Gibb's hill to reach a beach or beaches, no sidewalk, narrow roads. I would suggest hiring a taxi for a 3 hour tour at 50$/hour from Hamilton. You can make a few stops on the way, visit the beaches, go up the lighthouse, etc... tour doesn't have to be round trip, you could end a the dockyard and take the ferry back to Hamilton for a couple of $. Have fun, Bermuda is AMAZING !
  2. February, New York, cold weather = thermal suite packed for the first and last 2 days for sure. Yes drink package includes the virgin mocktails. But if you do not drink, is it worth it to get the package ? Do a price check with and without the package and see if the price difference is more than the cost of the estimated virgin drinks you may drink on the cruise. You could be surprised... Have a great cruise !
  3. I got a couple of names from an other source : Carol-Lynn Smith Winsometransport Shari-Lynn Pringle Arthur LM Wade ( I booked with him ) Heidi Cowen I will report in February after my cruise.
  4. I wil be there on Feb 3rd on the Getaway. Pool and lazy river are free. They suggest you order a drink at the pool bar tho... My teens and I will do the monkey experience in port and then walk ( about 10 minutes ) to Umbrella street and Pink Alley. This part of town is safe but many many locals will offer to guide you in town for a few $. I read that if you decline politely ( many times 😉 ) everything is fine.
  5. Just like everyone think Hawaiian pizza was invented in Hawaii ... it wasn't, it's from Ontario, Canada 🤷🏻‍♂️
  6. In fact this is a "RÖSTI",it was invented in Switzerland...not a Hahsbrown 😉
  7. I don't even have Tabasco at home. I am a fan of hot sauce with a range of flavors. Thank you for understanding that there is a LOT more than Tabasco !
  8. Thank you for the "real life" experience. I am not at the point of having a holster for the sauce but... 😉 At home I have a minimum of 10 different hot sauce on hand at all time with different flavor profile and different heat. So I will bring 1 or 2 onboard for sure. Thank you !
  9. Obviously this is a "light" subject. This is not a "make or break" situation at all. Hot sauce ( i.e. Tabasco, Red hot, etc... ) is part of almost every meal at home. Can I bring a new, unoppened bottle of hot sauce on the ship at embarkation to use on the ship ? Our plan in our 5 ports is to buy a local hot sauce to bring back home after the cruise, I guess this will not be a problem, right ?!? Thank you all in advance,
  10. It is free and they provide the floats ( tubes )
  11. Are you kidding me ??? Those things ARE amazing ! If not available on the Getaway in january, I will jump ship ! 😉
  12. Well to answer my own question, as of this morning, ONLINE the difference between what I paid when booking and an upgrade to a family OV is $452. I CALLED Ncl 10 minutes ago and the offer she made me for the exact same stateroom that I compared ONLINE was $351 ... so I took the offer !
  13. Taken from " Stmarteenadventure.com" Mullet Bay Beach is somewhat you would like to call a semi nudist beach. People are mostly seen topless, and occasionally completely nude. It is a great place to visit and enjoy. Some aspects of Mullet Bay Beach The beach semi nudist, so, you might be careful while going cloth less. Whereas, it’s alright to roam around topless. A white sand beach with blue Caribbean waves, calmly striking against the soft sand ends. This beach is known for the marvelous scenic places, best for photogenic people. Moreover, a cliff nearby can offer a decent hike and fantastic views. A lot of water sports are offered to visitors, a lot of quiet places for meditation and relaxation.
  14. I can assure you there is no confusion, it was at Mullet Beach. Maybe that day, that time... I don't know but this was a thing.
  15. Went to Mullet a few years back. Basic ( but ok ) food options. A part of the beach is "clothing optional" but when I went it was only a couple of person and they were on the left side of the besch ( when facing the water ). Depending of number of ships in port it might get crowded with water sports. Again, when I went, there were none but I have seen videos where there was a lot. I plan on going at Mullet in january on my next stop there. The beach is wide and you can find a calm spot for sure but further from the food kiosk.
  16. There are Tuk Tuk's between the ship's exit and the port itself. It is free ( leaving a tip of $1 per pax is suggested ). It is a long walk from the end of the pier and the entrance of the port. There are a couple, I think. There might be a service outside the port area but I am not aware of it.
  17. No need to reserve but I like to go a.s.a.p. before the tour bus ( cruise line tours ) get there and save the wait. But it is worth it, the cave ( crystal ) is beautiful.
  18. At time of booking ( with Ncl directly ) the difference between my inside and a balcony was $1800 . Now it is $800 (from original inside price I paid ) because of the price drops. The minimum bid was $150 for an upgrade but I am now almost positive I want to upgrade. So that's why I was wondering if it was worth the time to call Ncl to "maybe" get an even better price than the $800 listed on the website... I guess I will wait an other week and if the price drops again I will call and see and even if not, I just might pay for it 🤷🏻‍♂️
  19. Taxi's are regulated, you can find a website and the chart for the fares. It's a flat rate from point "A" to point "B" ex: port to Maho, port to Marigot, Maho to any beaches, etc Prices are for 1-2 passenger, third passenger is extra, and includes 1 piece of luggage per person. I will use a taxi on my next stop there instead of a tour. I will save about $120 ( we are 3 ) I will taxi from port to Maho, Maho to Marigot and Marigot to port.
  20. Good morning, I am booked in an inside cabin for my cruise in 90 days. I would like to upgrade, I can see the price on NCL's website but has anyone scored a better price by calling Ncl ? or got some bonus OBC or something like that ? Thank you all in advance
  21. Took 2 tours with them in the past. I wanted a third time next january but the only day they are sold out in the next 6 months is the day we stop there. After a few email exchange, it went a little like this : " no worries we have space", then " just book an other time and we will accomodate you", then "sorry we are all booked", and finally "give me you paypal info and I will find a place for you" .... I did not book the tour, to affraid of showing up and not having a place or having my party of 3 ( me and my 2 teens ) split up in 2 or 3 buses... I will taxi from port to Maho, then walk to Mullet Bay beach, taxi to Marigot and taxi back to port 🤷‍♂️
  22. I am with you on this one. Since Bernard's tour is sold out the day we sail in, I will do my own tour using a taxi between my stops and I will pay more if I have to, but I want a "private" taxi for sure.
  23. They changed 2 ports ? Are they listed as tender ports ? What ship are you on ?
  24. Lines are crazy in the morning, coffee is fast to make but those "elaborate" drinks are not. As read here on CC, one drink at a time and if you give the drink to someone else and the Starbuck's employee saw you, they will refuse to serve you an other one within "X" amount of minutes ( I don't remember the time, sorry ). I will not buy the package for my next cruise because I do not want to spend all day in line to get a couple of drinks. I will use my Starbuck's app to pay for it and get my "stars" for every purchase, in the end I will save money compared to the package for sure.
  25. Most of the kids in Quebec, Canada, are going back to school on January 8 or 9
