  1. Here's my next contribution. This is one of my photos showing another view of a port we've already seen. I've erased the wording on the sign which would have given it away otherwise. Perhaps the logo I've left intact will help. If additional clues are needed, I may start revealing one word at a time on that sign. I'm not sure how much the cranes in the background will help, @sfred. 😉
  2. I'll go ahead now and formally identify this photo as Dover Strait, England. By the way, the ferry shown in the photo is either Spirit of Britain or Spirit of France of P&O Ferries operating on the Dover-Calais route. Do you recall which ship were you on for this photo, @Lanky Lad?
  3. Looks like we might have another "Strait" to add to our port list to continue our recent trend. I see you've managed to capture a couple birds in your photo, @Lanky Lad, even if they aren't the kind mentioned in a famous song about this place. 😉
  4. That webcam image is indeed from Oslo. It's from the "Raadhuskaia" webcam found on the Port of Oslo's website. It's showing QV's departure earlier this year (August 27, 2022). I posted a view that day showing QV docked at Oslo from their "Kavringen" webcam on the "Queen Victoria current location" thread. I saved this other capture to post on this thread.
  5. Here's a different view of a port we've already seen. This is from my library of webcam captures. I've blurred out the caption in the upper left which would give it away otherwise.
  6. I think this is the Pentland Skerries lighthouse on the island of Muckle Skerry, Scotland. If so, that's a new sail-by to add to our list. A bonus for me from the research for this one is that it taught me a new word; "skerry: a small rocky island."
  7. In the interest of building our port list, I'll count that as a new cruise-by called "Corfu Straight, Greece".
  8. Ah, once we have the location narrowed down, I'm able to find an image on a photo sharing website that shows an identical profile of the hills. It even includes that single lit feature on the shore. That image is described as "Greek mainland seen from the Straits of Corfu." I suspect the "closed coast" @sogne has in mind is Albania which is also visible from the Straits of Corfu.
  9. That's correct. From the Cunard UK FAQ: "(Q) Where is my e-ticket? (A) E-tickets are no longer in use. Your boarding pass contains all the information you will need for embarkation, including port and cruise terminal details and your arrival time. You will be able to check in for your voyage and print your boarding pass from 21 days prior to departure, via My Cunard. ..."
  10. Castries, St Lucia. Oh, sorry, wrong thread! 😀

    2024

Yes, I goofed by posting the Oct 6-13 crossing the wrong way around. Here's my correction from later that same day I posted the schedule. Sorry, I don't have any additional information about the official announcement date or on the sale date for these summer/autumn 2024 sailings. About a week ago I started seeing pricing information on some US booking sites, so I supposed that's a good sign it won't be much longer.
  12. No, we haven't had this one. It isn't listed as a cruise-by call on our unseen ports list but it should have been. We've seen the port of Messina a few miles down the coast on the opposite shore (including one of your photos). But when the ships don't call there, Cunard lists this location on their itineraries as "Transit Messina Strait, Italy (Cruise-by)". If I've identified this photo correctly, I'll added Messina Strait, Italy to the list of Cunard ports we've seen on this thread. This brings up a couple more similar cruise-by "straits" listed on Cunard itineraries we haven't seen yet and aren't on our unseen ports list. Here are two more suggestions for cruise-by photo contributions. I'll add them to our unseen ports list. Magellan Straits, Chile Dardanelles Strait, Turkey
  13. QV is in Andalsnes, Norway today. Here is a capture from the webcam hosted by the Bakgården Thai restaurant (bakgardenthai.no) in Andalsnes. I am posting this image with the kind permission of Bakgården Thai.
  14. Now that we are several pages further along this thread since I last posted the port lists and the latest photos have been identified, here are updated lists. We have now seen 588 different Cunard ports/cruise-bys according to my count. There are still plenty of opportunities to post photos you may have of any Cunard ports/cruise-bys we haven't seen yet. Also feel free to post photos offering different views of any of the ports we have already seen. Where in the World 2022-10-13.txt Cunard ports not seen yet 2022-10-13.txt
  15. I'm going to go out on a limb to try and identify this photo. I can't get the hills in the background to work at all from available online images so I have my doubts, but the rest of the scene looks like it might be the town of Portnahaven (left center) and the Rinns/Rhinns of Islay lighthouse (far right) on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. How did I do with this one?
  16. At first I thought this was going to be hopeless to identify. But a review of ports on your recent itinerary to Norway found a good match. I think this is showing one of the bollards at the south end of the cruise pier at Olden, Norway. There are two similar ones visible on google street view. I also found a YouTube video of Azura at Olden showing what appears to be the same boat with crew attaching lines and later casting them off from that bollard.
  17. Yes indeed. Well done. There's even a portion of the stern of Queen Mary barely visible at the far right at the base of the dome, so that photo qualifies as having a Cunard ship in it.
  18. Here's another view of a port we've already seen. Although it may not look like it, there are enough details in this photo for our forensic photo analysts to identify the port.
  19. I think not. We've had a Kings Court on QM2 even though there was a queen on the throne. I find it interesting how many hits I get when I google "Kings Grill" from people who thought that was the name of the Kings Court.
  20. You can find the dress code and theme schedule for your cruise in the daily calendar section of My Cunard for your booking. Or you can check the master dress code and theme schedule I've compiled for the "Dress Code and Theme Schedules for 2021-22" sticky on this forum. I'll post the link to the QV schedule here for your reference. But do double-check what your daily calendar says in My Cunard to make sure what I've compiled hasn't changed. 21. Ah, yes. The ship is QE and I only figured you for having embarked QE in Adelaide, Melbourne and Yokohama from previous posts on this thread. Searches of those ports proved fruitless although Yokohama does have similar cranes so I spent quite a bit of time ruling out Yokohama before your additional hint ruled that out anyway. A post of yours on another thread provides the answer to this one including the name of the nearby hotel. I'll leave it at that for now. 😉
  22. Absolutely no need for an apology. The best answers here are from those such as you who recognize photos from actual experience rather than spending hours (or days) as I do for most of the photos I manage to identify.
  23. OK, now that it's been 24 hours for this one, I'll go ahead and concur with @Colin_Cameron's conclusion that this looks like another view of the Copenhagen airport from the Drogden Channel (see post #407 previously identified by @Colin_Cameron). I wasn't entirely convinced until I was able to match the structure and car park in the foreground to similar features at P17 and P19 Parking located near runway 22L.
  24. With the addition today of the schedule for QV's Canary Island Celebration (Christmas) cruise, the dress code and theme schedule for QV is now complete! QM2's schedule was completed several months ago and QE's schedule is only missing one day (December 14, 2022). Coincidentally, it's exactly one year to the day since I started this thread on October 1, 2021. When I started this project I never imagined we'd be able to get such complete schedules. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed their voyage schedules for this project. Now an update on the stats for the number of gala evenings per week for each ship. QM2: 1.87 Gala Evenings per week QE: 1.67 Gala Evenings per week QV: 1.75 Gala Evenings per week
  25. Assembly stations B and C are in the Carinthia Lounge, deck 7 mid-forward. Technically, the signage may indicate assembly station B is on the starboard side and assembly station C is on the port side, but they consider the lounge to be a combined assembly station BC.
