Hello, 2nd Q first - Royal Caribbean, especially over 340 points. 1st Q - if you drink, Royal Caribbean, if you don't then MSC. You will get 5% off the price of the cruise, sometimes 10%, you will get a free Table d'hote meal in a specialty restaurant. You will have no problem finding (a) freshly squeezed orange juice, and (c) real coffee in most bars and no bl**dy 'half and half' in sight. Regards, Cublet

Hello, I've had this for my 2025 QA cruise but not my 2024 QV cruise. The only difference I can think of is there will be a 'milestone' birthday between the two. Regards, Cublet

Hello, I'm sure I read a message from C&A saying that D and above would henceforth get a receipt each time they used a voucher for a drink and that receipt would show how many drinks were left that day. Of course there should be no such receipt for Suite Guests in the Concierge Lounge, D or otherwise. Regards, Cublet

Hello, Once upon a time, Brilliance sailed out of Harwich. Regards, Cublet -
Hello, It used to be that if it was considered safe to walk from the berth to the dock gates then the PORT would NOT provide a shuttle. If it was considered unsafe then a shuttle would be provided usually by the port but sometimes by the ship in lieu of higher berthing charges. Generally there are charges from the ship to the town/city charged by the ship, or by public transport buses that stop at the berth. Some lines, eg P&O, include the cost of shuttle buses from the ship to the town in particular pricing bands. Regards, Cublet

Is Celebrity going to Eliminate Butlers on Sky and Celebrity Suites?
cublet replied to terrydtx's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Hello, Yes, but only by booking CK for dinner and then only space permitting (in both). During the Covid crisis (?) for safety's sake and to allow 'social distancing', Pins were barred from the Concierge Lounge and had to do with a cordoned-off area of the Music Hall. Meanwhile Pins that were also in suites were so lonely in the Concierge Lounge, ie too few Suite PAX putting in an appearance, that they went to the Diamond Lounge for company. Regards, Cublet -
Hello, There isn't a date on the document but from X's website the CC Benefits still show: Regards, Cublet

Hello, And here is an example: Several years ago I had my Independence Roll Call hijacked for about three pages by Americans discussing their property insurance. Less 'drift', more 'Tsunami'! Regards, Cublet -
Hello, Tenders will remain free for those prepared to row - using the tenders' engines comes with a fee plus gratuities for the guy doing the steering. Regards, Cublet

Is Celebrity going to Eliminate Butlers on Sky and Celebrity Suites?

Hello, Yes, that is correct. Can I just add, obiter dictum, that this thread reminds me of a headline on the front of The Economist many years ago when discussing [?] 'cold fusion', and it was "Much heat, not much light". Regards, Cublet -
Hello, Yes, correct - apologies. Regards, Cublet

Hello, No, it takes a couple of weeks to feed through automatically. However all you need do is see the C&A Concierge before the end of the second B2B and he/she will arrange to see you on the first morning of the (final) cruise and a new seapass card will be made for you with the new status and the local IT systems will update you to E+ at around 10.30. Regards, Cublet

Hello, I know you lot look upon us in the motherland as the relatives that time forgot, but here is a picture of a waiter in one of my local Chinese restaurants. I tip in lubricating oil. Regards, Cublet -

Hello, This is all of a piece that I expected when JF became CEO - the type of accountant that knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. Two possibilities that I have not read here so far: The eventual merger of Royal & X brands; or the 'fattening-up' of X (financially) with a view to a sell/float as a separate entity. Hello, I cannot speak for the OP, but in my case I don't go on a cruise to lose weight. During my one and only cruise dining in Blu on Eclipse I lost four kilos. Regards, Cublet -
Hello, That's the thing. I like my coffee to taste of coffee not that stuff, apparently vital to many, known as 'half and half'. Regards, Cublet

Hello, Yes I know. Sadly the initial proposal for a luxury 248 bed hotel to replace it has been withdrawn by the developers who want to build sixty-odd homes on the site. Regards, Cublet

Hello, I've no problem with the service from Il Secundo, it's the coffee that's rubbish. Regards, Cublet

Hello, I don't think you are correct about the OBC being adjusted to reflect the new cruise length, unless I am special. Over the last two years I have changed three BoB cruises to shorter ones and the OBC stayed the same. I presume the corollary is that if I changed them to longer ones then the OBC would not go up. Hello, I know 2025 sailing dates are not long away, but I've been told that the 2024 DP340 UK prices haven't been loaded yet(!!) - not that they are not available. I have tried DP340 on the UK site and got no reduction but I did on the US website. What they also have not done is change the 'not valid' dates from all of July and August to from Mid June to Mid August. Regards, Cublet -
How fast from QM2 to Southampton train station, using express disembarkation?
cublet replied to DaveQM's topic in Cunard Line
Hello, I would also add to check which platform you want as there are two entrances to the station serving different platforms and the taxi driver will need to know which you want (but he/she really should know). You can of course use the elevated walkways to change platforms but the lifts from/to the walkways/platforms are unreliable and I think station porters no longer exist. Regards, Cublet
