  1. 10 years ago is a decade ago. Times change, dress codes change. You’re welcome to your opinion but it’s celebrity’s dress code and they’re trying to attract less of you and more designer Jean type with $$$$.
  2. Yes, proximity to the port definitely helps. If it wasn’t February we could have drove down.
  3. Cruiselines are struggling to stay in business. They can’t afford to piss anyone off. I would suggest you spend less time on your vacation being concerned about it.
  4. Free is definitely not free when you add in air, hotels, tips etc. just the Mexican riviera cruise was going to cost us $1,700 Cdn before even boarding.
  5. Different strokes. I’m happier in a pair of shorts watching the sunset with my French cheese plate than in a dining room on a ship. But it’s not for everyone.
  6. I said it puts a check mark in the land trip, not it was a deciding factor. We’re looking at an extended Australia/New Zealand trip. Cruises don’t make sense because everything is priced in US $ where a land trip would be in AU and NZ$ at a much better rate with the Canadian dollar. There are lots of deciding factors and $47 in tips a day is one of them.
  7. We had a condo with full kitchen and BBQ. We had some lunches out but not many dinners. Preferred our deck and selection of wine.
  8. I got back 2 days ago from a month in Hawaii. I’m very well informed as to land trip vs cruise.
  9. $47 a day Canadian in tips definitely puts a check mark in the land trip column vs cruise in areas without a tipping culture.
  10. Returning to Canada at the border or by the airline you were flying? I’ve had airlines check but never the border. The airline can’t read the details on the passport.
  11. We flew in last night, 30 mins before the order ended. 100% masked. I didn’t see a single person without one. There was even an Asian flight crew in hazmat suits 😳
  12. You lost me when you talked about the smoking. It’s abysmal on HAL
  13. Agreed. I’m aiming for 2025 too but not keen on O’s 2025. It seems more geared to repeat WC guests, which is great there is that option, but for us we’re looking for something a bit more mainstream and definitely the Med.
  14. It ends midnight on the 30th. Official announcement likely Monday. keep politics out of it.
  15. We booked the free MR cruise and now received the Caribbean one this morning. Free cruises raining from the sky.
  16. Insides and bottom two categories of balconies are wait listed.
  17. We’re up in Turtle Bay now for September. Love it up here. There’s the resort but there’s also a ton of condos on the golf course that will be a lot cheaper.
  18. Looking at the website it doesn’t appear they’ve learnt anything about the size of the Royal class balconies. Ship looks great but we’re not interested in a shoebox for a deck.
  19. Typo perhaps…there’s a booking on the Fremantle port schedule for Pacific Princess in 2025 🤷🏻‍♀️
  20. Facebook has announced the reveal date. You're invited! Fall in love with our next generation of ships at the name reveal for our newest (and biggest) one this Thursday, September 15 at 2:45pm PST!
  21. Thanks for the wonderful review. We’re doing a land trip in April starting with a week in Hawaii. One night at the Hilton Tahiti and six at the Hilton Moorea. Can’t wait.
  22. It’s tied to your passport - they know.
  23. So sorry. Going through this with my mom. It’s so difficult. Best wishes for the future.
  24. Thanks Jan. I was able to download it to iBooks as a PDF so I’m good. Question for you though…do the segments of grand voyages go on sale at the same time as the whole voyage or do they come out later like the world cruise? Thanks.
